Doris looks so comfortable and genuine taking photos with collectors. It is a true touching moment when she asked the photographer to take a second picture and then kiss the man on the cheek.

I couldn't go to the Convention but I went to Carmel the following year and it was the opportunity of my lifetime as auaiao9 says. Be with her is THE EXPERIENCE never to be forgotten.
Looking at this is it any wonder Doris really doesn't like venturing into town these days?!! Where ever she goes, she gets mobbed!! Everyone wants a picture of her, plus her autograph, and most want to be in the picture with her! She lives in a very beautiful, very large house, sitting on 11 acres of beautiful grounds. She even has her own "meadow". At 87 years old, she just wants some quiet private time with her "babies".
You might have been right to some degree after her son died she had a car accident out side her house o read and they tried legal action poor thing. When she was living in L A people tried legal action for having to many dogs . God Speed Doris RIP xxc

How sweet and friendly Doris is and how she takes care of each person talking with her... She's always adorable.
