      Yes, there is a time and place for everything. Sometimes a Jacket / Pant combo is best and other times a 1-Piece suit is the ticket. Honestly, I was totally opposed to the one piece thing... until I began commuting 50+ miles each way. I tried the Centurion Suit ... and fell in love. However, I found that on weekend excursions or "Adventure Rides" I do prefer a traditional Jacket Pant combo. Thanks for watching! - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

    I bought one of these suits based on this video. Wouldn't keep me dry for 30 minutes in light drizzle. Leaked around the vent zippers. Also the wrist Velcro is backwards, makes a nice little pocket that catches the rain and funnels it into my Gloves. I'm sending mine back.

    It may have significantly more 'modern' features than an Aerostitch, but there are MANY reports of it leaking. All that Velcro seems convenient now, until the hook/loop wears out.
    Many Aerostitch suits are still being worn ten years later. That is highly unlikely with Klim and it's 147 pockets, zippers, vents, Velcro.

    While the Klim knee armour is fricken tiny that arrangement (taken from Aerostich) with velcro looks as though it would actually allow retrofitting something decent in the knee. Even with the straps though it still might not be enough to fix the problem of the armour moving about, That's my main gripe with Klim armour. Can't stand the strap design either- dangerous.
    The gussets are a good feature. Look like a nice design

I’d love to see an interior ankle gather as air goes up easily even with boots . A removable tall collar would also be appreciated. this expensive suit is as protective as a t-shirt in a fall

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  2 года назад

      Interesting comment--not that I agree. The fact that this is a one-piece suit with full sleeves, means that unlike a t-shirt, it wont slide up and expose your skin to abrasion in a fall. That alone is more potential protection than a tee shirt. But there is also padding in the back, shoulders, and elbows, as well as 750D CORDURA in key spots--again for abrasion protection.

    The Gen 1 suit leaks (Klim even admitted so) - so they ditched the one piece zipper for the current generation. The current suit has three zippers, none attached to each other. Two leg zippers and a chest zipper. So much for convenience...
    I struggled to get into/out of it four times in my living room before I decided that the redesign was absolutely terrible. I can only picture myself on a ride in the rain, dragging my wet boots through the center of the suit (where I will be sitting), and having the top collar and shoulders laying on dirty asphalt while I struggle to put this on. This was a very expensive, but ultimately useless piece of equipment - fortunately I am able to return it.
    The suit I tried (and returned) was a large but did not have enough room between the shoulders and the crotch. I couldn't lift my arms up above my shoulders, and it was tight around my bicep and in the armpit when reaching forward for the bars. I tried an XL on in the store - it felt fine but it looked ridiculously huge on me. I'm 5'11" and if I was going to actually keep this suit I'd need to get a large-tall, but then the inseam would probably be too long (I'm a 32".
    I'm getting a 'Stich next week.
