To think that Gotti was annoyed at Quack Quack for blabbing and it was ultimately his own words and actions that brought about his demise is astounding. Gotti was lucky to have been incarcerated because he probably would go the same way as Castellano went as some point, possibly by Gravano's hands.

34:11 it always blows my mind 🤯 how they gloss over the fact that the FBI accomplished this several times. HOW? You’d think the Ravenite would have security on staff overnight or anytime it was unoccupied. That’s crazy. So the FBI just walks in with keys? How were they copied? At the Ravenite there were no alarms on when they’d leave at night? Almost all businesses have alarm systems. Cafes, restaurants, pizzerias. It’s bizarre.
It clearly just wasn’t like that. It always cracks me up when they said “the mob guys house is surrounded by armed soldiers watching the front and back 24/7.” It just wasn’t like that. It’s amazing that we can live in a time that’s still somewhat connected to the mafia era having those connected to the cases, pursuits, former members, and every day people who watched the trials and followed it all. Being born in 1990, mafia and organized crime just seems like history. A time long long ago. But watching documentaries of actual interviews of former members and agents who worked the cases brings me to the 1970s more. It’s actually pretty cool. Many of these people won’t be around forever and generations after me will be even least connected. We have adults today who weren’t even alive during 9/11. As to the detectives and FBI agents, what a time and what hardcore work they did to bring the organization down. I know it’s still alive today to a degree but it’s clearly not anything the level it once was. Today is just a new era. We’ve got surveillance cameras everywhere and advanced technological equipment, as well as DNA technology that’s well developed - all these things these mafia agents didn’t have. It was good ole fashion police work and intense dedication and desire to rid American society of these high level criminals. Mad respect for them and what they accomplished. But as we all know about the mafia - the biggest recipe that allowed them to rise to power then was SECRECY. They are extremely DL about their activities and they persevered their organizations/activities for decades, and really, nearly all of last century. We do know they still exist today even if their membership and power isn’t what it once was - I don’t think we’re truly able to be aware of how prevalent they might be today. Again, Their secrecy and ability to stay ahead of law-enforcement and the rest of society is their key component, so i wouldn’t be surprised if they’re more involved then we think. Whatever the case, what a fascinating era of history. Brutally violent, intense, troublesome at times… but an amazing theme of 20th century America.

These videos are informative. I was surprised that crooks would dress oddly so they would be remembered for their gear rather than their faces. But at the end of the day, as much as we need and respect the FBI - they haven't made much of a dent in organized crime, or any crime for that matter.
If you don’t think they haven’t made a dent in organized crime you are extremely wrong. the RICO Act destroyed the mafias ability to function and now the Mafia is a shell of what it used to be. Yes I was shocked by that sentence as well.
Well what he was actually convicted of was Attempted Manslaughter NOT murder! Doesn't matter what he did what matters is what hes convicted of! And that whole "white" comment why don't you go look up Nicky Barnes or Frank Lucas's sentences they got! Lol Or better yet as someone already pointed out OJ Simpson! U got money the rules dont apply to you like they do us!!
@Snaggle Toothed As someone else had pointed out Carlo Gambino hired Roy Cohen for Gottis lawyer and he was basically 'infamous' for lack of a better word for getting mob guys amazing deals with the DA. And of course this was before they started to actually use the RICO laws. And Gotti wasn't the trigger man Ralph Galione was. At the end of the day it's human beings that are the ones "enforcing" these laws and sentences so back in the 70's when Cosa Nostra was still in its glory day times it's not that hard to believe this situation! It more than likely was happening on a weekly basis back than. It's just we all know who Gotti is and have looked into his life se we're aware of his particular case.
@Snaggle Toothed lmao I just went back up to the comments to see who mentioned Roy Cohen and that was YOU!! Lol Yea bro u know the answer man. Even today it still rings true if u have an amazing attorney they can work certain wonders!

To think that Gotti was annoyed at Quack Quack for blabbing and it was ultimately his own words and actions that brought about his demise is astounding. You don't hand a beatdown to the U.S government as that is an unwinnable battle.
They try to make what they did seem more miraculous then what I really was. It’s really simple to catch people when you can break the law. How hard is it to break into someone’s house and put a bug in it you think there’s always going to be somebody home 7 days a week 24 hours a day? It’s pretty simple
You would think there be someone in the lounge at all times no matter what. They never thought the fbi would do that. For how smart they are at doing crimes and murder they sure snoozed at that.Gotti never goes to jail if that dont happen.I think he wouldve gotten killed the chin wanted gotti real bad and he was going to do what ever. That car bomb was for gotti but he decided not to go in that car.The chin said he was good for decicco dying.Chin wasnt good he wanted gotti

Okay, I read all that, so thumbs up!

If you don’t think they haven’t made a dent in organized crime you are extremely wrong. the RICO Act destroyed the mafias ability to function and now the Mafia is a shell of what it used to be.
