In this weeks video I’m sharing with you how our Orthodox Sephardic Jewish Family celebrates and welcomes Hanukkah into our home. Last years sourdough donuts were such a hit! I recorded the entire process for you to have the recipe. OfCourse, what’s Chanukah with out the latkes? I’m sharing my recipe with you in this video as well. Hope you enjoy it.

🍩 Sourdough Donuts:
500gm Bread Flour
100g Active Starter
60g Sugar
10g Salt
100g Eggs (2 Eggs)
220g Milk
100g Butter
Add starter, milk and eggs to mixer
Add sugar and turn on the mixer on low speed
Add flour and salt
When a dough forms, add room temperature butter
Knead until all butter is incorporated into dough
Continue kneading until it starts to clean the bowl or starts pulling at the scraper about 15 minutes
Turn out dough onto work surface
Slap and fold a few times until dough can pass the window pane test
Place in oiled container and refrigerate overnight
In the morning prepare donut balls of 50gm each
Cover and let proof for 8 hours

I am literally dripping tears out of the corners of my eyes. Watching the children embrace their Daddy while basking in the joy of the Chanukah lights was overwhelming . Thank G-d there are little humans, our future, with such humanity and love in their hearts. You are truly amazing ❤

So I've just found your channel and you and your family have blessed me so much already. I'm not Jewish but I have such a strong love for God's people and Israel that getting to learn about your traditions first hand has been life changing. I'm married with 4 kids so I love seeing your big family. Reading about the feast in the Bible I've always been drawn to learning all I can about God and his people. When I was in High School, my best friend, Esther, was Jewish. I remember being at her house on the first night of Hanukkah, especially the latkes.

I just saw your beautiful video. My kids left not long ago. Children grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was so beautiful to have 4 generations under one roof. I had the zechut to prepare everything myself ( except the doughnuts) I used to do it but not anymore. My husband gave out the presents it was just beautiful.
