Unironically Seki was more mature than almost every other character including adults. His ability to self-cringe at all is completely missing in most others. He actually redirects his own growth consistently into good directions despite the obvious bad influences the world keeps pulling him with. The mundane quality of his world view is only reflected in the mundane quality of life. Judging the value of such conclusions by how interesting they are is classic escapism-junkie lifestyle.

The final chapters of Seki and Shimizu felt the most earned too! Was all about overcoming trauma and acceptance. Plus they have the best bond!!!

Seki is my favourite because till the very end he was just a chill dude living through life. Sure he was a little bit edgy at the begging but hes cool.
Seki, but mainly because I love philosophy and he sorta helped awaken my interest in the first place. When I say I love philosophy I really mean it. He might not have the best arguments and stuff but he made me so interested in the actual logic behind some arguments he made.

aiko, i’m guessing in the beginning she help up punpun stood up himself to do presentation
she understood how that feel to punpun and gave her trust comfort wish stay together forever never forget
and said something interesting about the world (people friends talk about dark humour theory’s or fandom)
their friends having a side crush lead to obsession hitting toxicity near to the end risking their situation
warning suffering thoughts sucide once she back with him also ruined his career
(and unfortunately it could be re reality people suffer depression wanting being recognised or loved , manipulated each other)

I find it weird how Midori is hated A LOT more than Punpun because, just by Punpun's actions, he is 10x worse than Midori.
Actually reminds me of how in Breaking Bad people hate Skyler more than Walter even though the guy has poisoned children, bombed a nursing home and creates drugs that go around and ruin peoples life with addiction. Main character energy I guess, we do know a lot more about the story of Punpun and Walter compared to Midori and Skyler.

It's hard to say that Punpun is worse than Midori, rather... horrible in a different way? Midori SA'ed a minor that started to see her as a mother figure, which definitely contributed to him ending up the way he was. So yeah, the more we get to know a character, the more we understand how they got this way. Not as an excuse, just an explanation. It might also be because Midori was a likeable character... until she very much wasn't, so I guess as the reader, we also feel betrayed. Almost like the opposite of Punpun's mother that starts out as a very unlikeable character, but then you learn more about her and slowly start to understand her a little bit better.
I think really it's because Midori gets to act like she's a good person after everything and never acknowledges how badly she hurt him. In a way I think her not being put off by Yuichis story reflects the fact that she doesn't feel guilt for her own past mistakes.
At least we watch pun pun suffer mentally for his actions, so it's a bit of consolation
I agree with you on breaking bad though, and I actually quite liked Skyler past season 1 when she was freaking out about weed
@@Didi-wq8hw Actually a very solid point you have there, she never really showed or implied any regret from her actions, we can always boil it down to the fact that she's not a main character and so her inner conflict is irrelevant but you do make it more understandable for me as to why people might hate Midori more than Punpun
