    Very informative episode. One minor beef when you were discussing the YOY immigration numbers vs. new jobs numbers - 1 million new residents vs 94,000 jobs does seem crazy, but the other number you have to include is the number of Canadians who retired this year, creating existing job vacacanices that needed filling, which is approximately 300,000 in 2024. Then remove children from the total number of immigrants (approximately 250,000) and we now arrive at the true number of over supply of labour created by immigration in the last year - Approximately 350,000. Still not a small number, but I just felt that should have been elucidated by you guys rather than just grabbing the top line figures. Otherwise, good show. Keep it up!

    GST tax break is just a ploy to delay recession during the holidays. Trudeau preaches making hard decisions for climate change but caves so easily for the economy. The people will pay for this once this lack of tax revenue needs to be funded and shows up through inflation.

      Don’t believe anything in the news or anyone’s predictions as zero percent people know what’s next . You can look at historical charts all you want and compare last week with this week all you want, zero percent people can make even educated guesses on what’s next well I guess you could call them educated guesses but the market works off emotion so how are you going to plan for that. The short term zero percent know what’s happening . You’ll eventually be right , and those guys that were right once it’ll be like “this Bloomberg guy that predicted the2008 crash is now saying this” 😂😂😂 that’s when you know for sure DONT LISTEN cause if he was right before its going to be like zero percent chance he’s right again. Short term everyone’s dumb, long term is where you invest . Short term game is for brokies

    For the record, Russia didn't cut off any energy exports. None. At all. Full stop. The collective West cut themselves off. ( and blew up the pipeline to boot) And Russia is still producing as much oil and gas as they ever did. It's just going to different customers.

    Great speaker. Canadian politicians are playing a luxury game of refusing energy production. I grew up in a country with no energy independence and Canadian politicians dont seem to understand how important a strong energy industry is. If given the option, no energy rich country would choose to refute it like they do here in Canada... well, the elections will show how much real support there is to these caps

  • @Stormshfter
    @Stormshfter 2 дня назад +3

    If the govt and the banks would just let the natural progression of the reset happen Canada would have a chance for an economic recovery in a couple years.
    The longer that all the regular working folks put all there income into only food and housing, the longer the slow decline will last.
    Small business will continue to slowly disappear without disposable income to support it and unemployment will slowly continue upward.
    All the rate cuts in the world will not save you now that housing is financialized.
    I dont claim to know what will happen, but i do know that what is going on is unsustainable.
    When the govt is saying everything is fine, you should usually run.

      @marcgatto9675 2 дня назад

      @Picklemedia The engineer? Really? That's a holdover term from when oil companies sent actual engineers out to the rig. That practice pretty much ended by the early 80's. And those same engineers then stayed in the office and called the guy drilling the well everything but an engineer. Cause he usually wasn't one. There's not many ring fingers running rigs these days. But I can tell you're not a career directional hand. Cause you'd know all that.
