Therefore I can say I have improved to some extent thanks to exercises/habits/stretching (depending on teacher Goodrich, Margaret etc), but I am stuck as vision is clearer than before, but I do have those ghostly images around letters or other objects and I cannot progress, it is also exhausting to see at this stage - consciously trying to get rid of that ghostly images. my whole family tree has a perfect vision till 90 years old and beyond. suddenly my 6 years old daughter was minus 8 Myopic. she was spending endless hours a day on the phone or Tab screens. her vision deteriorated very rapidly.
    we totally changed her lifestyle, no more screen time, all day outdoor. she went down to minus 6.
    then I started to use binoculars and let her see remote objects. which I could see without binoculars.
    eventually I was pointing to something very remote, which she couldn't see at all, and I could, I was describing it in detail. she was initially imagining it based on my detailed description.
    one great day, I pointed to something very remote, and she started describing it in details. she broke free. she told me she now can see the world. I was in tears.
    I know that eye problems are only related to the brain.
    we also did a ball playing exercise, when we would throw or kick a ball towards our daughter. at first she was missing all the balls. now she just moves to the ball landing spot right when I throw it. she can see now.
    the doctors cannot believe it, and they still are trying to tell me she cannot see. but she CAN

    I wrote this on Mark Warren's Channel too.
    The most dangeours bad habit that I found was *holding breathing*
    This solve part of the puzzle, cos people with imperfect sight -- and people with other unhealthy condition -- have a lack of oxygen.
    These breathtaking moments will lead to a change at nervous system level. Developing tension, anxiety.
    This explains why myopia takes years to increase and become permanent its about developing bad breathing pattern habit.
    Pay attention to yourself today, when youre reading, when yourr typing, when youre wearing your clothes/shoes, watching something , etc.
    Pay attention to people who wear glasses, most of the time they are holding their breathing. You see, they look like a dead body reading/watching something.
    Lack of oxygen, people are anxiety due to stop breathing to use their cognitive skills.
    Lack of oxygen leads to digestive issues, bad posture, headache, lips sores, stomach diseases, asthma, most of disease on upper body, etc.
    DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH, NEVER, EVEN IF IT IS AN IMPORTANT MOMENT OR TASK.
    This little improvement will make all the difference to ours vision.
    People reading this, Nathan has a outstanding video about diaphragmatic breathing, we need to trynna incorporate it in our daily life.

I started out with Bates method and experienced some flashes of clarity and some big improvement, but ended up stopping due to my work environment. Nathan can you please elaborate on how to rewire the habit of thinking that vision is in back of eyes and not in the front and to how to relax that part. Being a highly myopic -6.5 in both of eyes. I tried it few times intentionally and its super relaxing.

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  Год назад

      Great question! For me, it's both physical and mental. It works best for me when I actually adjust my posture such that my head is more aligned over my spine, to make sure I'm not slouching or jutting my chin forward (which is usually what myopes do in order to "get closer"). So I'm literally sitting back and relaxing in my chair, which helps my mind sink back to a place further behind my eyes, usually to my visual cortex. Since the swinging habit is so helpful, I tend to keep some sort of "pendulum swing" going on in my mind, whether it's Dr. Bates' swinging black period or some variation of it. One of my colleagues Rosemary Gordon talks about "seeing from the core", which seemed to help me connect more with my center or my spine in order to see, rather than it feeling concentrated to just the front of my face or just my eyeballs. Hope that helps!

      First of all thank you so much for your reply. So as high as myopic as me, first i need to correct the posture which you talked about, then what habits to incorporate while i wear my specks everyday and what core mental shifts i need to understand as now as you said when i remove the glasses i go completely blur its hard for me to do central fixation, as i guess i strain more instead

    Is it possible to improve while wearing contacts for few hours of the day or should I drop cold turkey? My job requires me to drive my car around, have 8 d 1.25 cyl so while it's technically possible it's risky. Maybe glasses are better for this on off? Been considering buying glasses that are 6.75 d to let my eyes adjust in a passively beneficial way while I do these techniques and relaxations.

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  2 года назад

    I keep getting headaches as I do the techniques. It’s day 3 of going without my glasses and I noticed slight improvement, I think I had a clear flash. I had been doing the techniques non stop.
    I’m not sure if the headaches are normal though..

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  5 месяцев назад

      Please be mindful about "quitting cold turkey". Most of my students prefer the "weaning off" approach, where you still use your glasses as needed while you are in the process of improving your vision naturally. This usually involves stepping down the strength of your glasses ie "training glasses".
      I did get headaches at first, and would feel relief when I put my glasses back on. After a week or two though, that reversed. I would start to get headaches if I left my glasses on too long, and would feel relief when I took them off. So I think you're on the right track, but just make sure you're prioritizing relaxation and feeling comfortable.
      I want you to listen to Article 2 from the January 1922 Better Eyesight called "Be Comfortable" - www.bettereyesightpodcast.com/home/january1922

    You can achieve that clarity with those special glasses that have tiny pinholes that you peer through. I bought a pair decades ago and it works. I can watch TV as long as I keep my head still and it gives you a small patch where it’s clear. The eye is probably relaxed because there’s no focusing with these glasses

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  Год назад

      Those are called pinhole glasses, and yes they can act as an alternative way to see clearly without using prescription glasses/contacts. However, I don't want you to end up staring. Maybe try allowing your head to move gently as you watch TV with pinhole glasses so you move your point of clear central fixation around to different parts of the screen.

After a year I notice an improvement. Then she gave me an eye chart and I saw almost everything. Then she told me to go to the vision apparatus and that it got worse from -3.25 to -6. I was slightly confused and then asked how this was possible, since I saw almost everything on the eye chart. I then went to another doctor and he put me on a vision aid and told me it had deteriorated to -4. This is very strange. They are all bullshit money suckers
    Thanks Mark & Nathan found that I went from (astigmatism) : Left - 3.75 to 2.75 Right from 2.25 to 1.75. It is necessary to persevere. A lot of people laugh at me saying it's not possible. However, it is possible!

      The Brock String is helping me to become more relaxed, I feel both brain hemisphere working together. My body coordination its very soft after 3 minutes of practice. I feel my mood changing while my eyes are working together. My thoughts are easy.
      Try it, start with one bead, see with both eyes two strings while aiming the bead, if you can't see two strings, try to blink one eye rapidly, breathe. Keep trying and you will be able to relax.

      A Gold tip:
      _Record yourself with your smartphone camera, make a video of yourself walking.. Put your cellphone on a window recording yourself walking_
      And with this material you'll train your new walking style.
      Move all the strain of your head, jaw, eyes, neck, shoulders and move to your low back, to your pelvis.
      You'll need to find a NEW comfortable way to walk. I know, you think you already walk in a comfortable way, but if your vision is blurry you are not walking in a comfortable way.
      Blurry vision is just a body signal.
      Nathan is always saying this all the time but nobodyis listening.
      Put the strain in the original place.
      When Babies learn to walk, they need to put the strain at the area.
      Your daily newehabit is remove the strain from the upper body and put at the lower body.
      The second step is: *trust in your body*
      Relax your face, concentrating all your awareness on low back, back, pelvis, legs, feet. Shift the way you used to step on the ground.
      Let your sight blurry, you dont need to make your vision sharpen with your own eyes. Just relax all your face, put all the attention on your body, moving your strain to the correct part of your body (low back, spine, abdomen).
      If you wanna do Big jumps, you should start by correcting your body posture. As I said before, train this all the time and you'll be surprised.

    Hi Nathan, When eyes are relaxed do they start to do involuntary saccadic movements? Because when my eyes are relaxed they make some weird shaking movements and when I moving my head or blink I can see clearly. If I do nothing when they are relaxed I can't see nothing.

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  4 года назад +2

      Yes, when your eyes are relaxed they shift more (saccade). People with blurry vision usually have less saccadic eye movements, and people with better vision usually have more saccadic eye movements. So let your eyes do that weird shaking feeling, especially if it leads to sharper vision!

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  4 года назад +3

      It depends on if you are straining or relaxing. If you take your glasses off and strain, you will feel pain and discomfort. If you take your glasses off and relax, you should not feel pain or discomfort. Make sure you're not squinting, staring, straining, etc. That being said, sometimes when we first begin this process, we start becoming aware of how much eye strain we have had for a long time, and we notice it more. Whereas before you may have been unconscious of it, or kind of numb to the pain that you carry around in your eyes. Now that you're aware of it, you can begin releasing it and replacing it with relaxation.

    When squinting why does that slightly improve sight?

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  3 года назад +3

      When you squint you are straining your eye muscles to manipulate the shape of the eye and narrow the eyelids to affect the optics of how the light refracts into your eyes, sometimes giving you temporarily clearer vision... however, right when you release the tension, the blur returns, proving that this is not a sustainable option. Not only that, but Dr. Bates taught that strain is actually one of the main underlying root causes of vision problems, so chronic squinting can lead to worse vision in the future. It is a bad habit that needs to be replaced with a better, more sustainable vision habit: dynamic relaxation. Dynamically relaxed eyes are blinking, moving, relaxing, and focusing easily, without tension, effort, or strain. Although relaxing your eyes does not always yield immediate clarity, with practice eventually it becomes the new way you see all the time, establishing a new baseline of normal vision. Start becoming self-aware of your staring and squinting habits multiple times a day. These are deeply embedded habits, so be patient with yourself, and don't beat yourself up if you do squint by accident. Just close, breathe, and start over. Good luck!

    Do you see eye floaters? If yes then how did you overcome with that?

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  4 года назад +2

      Yes, I see floaters from time to time. They're not as bad as they used to be. The more I improved my vision naturally, the less I saw the floaters. The brain has an amazing ability to tune things out... for example, your blind spots. Where your optic nerve enters your retina, there are no rods or cones, so it should appear like a black spot in your vision, but your brain is able to fill it in so you don't see it. Something similar can happen with the floaters too. But, also doing lots of swinging, sunning, and palming, and eating a clean, healthy diet and drinking lots of water can help decrease the floaters sometimes too.

      My wing chun teacher would always tell me to relax all the time, even when i was at what i thought was my most relaxed! He could percieve tension in my body that i could not, he was right, sometimes we are tense and don't even realize it even at our most relaxed, i believe this is what's causing it, unseen/unfelt tension in the eye/brain.

The eye can't see everything clearly, to make this sensation human eye do 2 or 3 of saccade movements per second, cause retina only is able to receive few light flashes. So the eye must be moving all the time to create a whole clearly picture. Myopic person stare too much, the retina can't keep the image more than 2 or 3 seconds if you keep so blur happens.

      It requires the use of your imagination. If you're looking at a mirror or a screen, it's not actually 3D... it's 2D... but you can imagine that it is 3D. Try this... imagine that the word BIG is popping out of the screen towards you... imagine it's closer to you than the rest of the words on the screen. Then, imagine that the word (small) is sinking into the screen away from you... imagine it's farther away from you than the rest of the words on the screen. Physically, all the words are on the same plane, but mentally you can imagine depth where there is no depth. Just requires a little bit of imagination!

      Doctors follow ready-made formulas, many of them force theory over reality.
      Nobody likes to be evaluated, either physically or on school tests. The nervousness of the evaluation interferes with the result.
      Another important point, the doctors' equipment was manufactured to validate the theory they follow.
      The strangest thing is that the test is done in a static, tiring way (which alters the human perception of reality) as if the human being were going to live life paralyzed in a dark room with a 19th century lamp, distinguishing small letters on paper.
      Ophthalmologist tests do not usually include eye fusion, they are tests based on defining symbols in a completely artificial way, prepared to find any error mainly with the aid of mirrors to extend the distance from the office (mirrors can create the Truxler effect).
      The best exam to do would be the DMV exam, normally this exam doesn't have such a tiresome battery of tests that induce the error.
      Ophthalmologists often believe that the eyeball is static, the way in which the assessment is done favors the theory (person still, sitting, immobile).
      Neuroscience explains the correlation between eye and body, or better body and mind (brain/eyes). Only bad professionals don't know these things.
      In fact, Western medicine is weird, it segments the human body into details that never touch itself. Creating misdiagnoses.
      They will only say that diopters have decreased when the process called sarcopenia comes into play, removing a certain amount of muscles that make up the ocular system (neck, shoulder, trapezius), when these muscles decrease in tone or change the way they are probably arranged. eyeballs will change shape too, so when you're paralyzed in the office chair, the doctor will notice that your eyeball is getting different, smaller. But they will keep saying that there is also myopia to a lesser degree.
      I also don't believe in this area of medicine called ophthalmology. Many are ignorant people who are afraid to challenge their superiors and the old theories.

      @@CyBORGBOY11 You're totally correct. In fact one optometrist preferred increasing my prescription to maximum correction just so everything is Flipping too bright in the dark. How the hell does one make an instrument that evaluates eyesight that makes you sit down while doing so? And the test is about letters. Come to think of it this is dangerous and very stupid. Ignorant. When you get your glasses you're no longer reading letters on a wall but interacting with reality on a daily basis. Perception has changed. They are nothing but administrators.

      Great response! Wonderful exposure of the fallacies of the traditional outdated eye exam. Dr. Bates skillfully learned how to use his retinoscope at a distance greater than 5 feet, because he knew that if he invaded the space of his patient too much, he influenced the outcome of their exam. He also studied people's eyes outdoors in natural sunlight, while standing, moving, talking, playing, etc. as opposed to sitting motionless in a cramped dark room. More recently, there was also a push to start using "moving eye charts" with rotating symbols rather than static symbols, which is more in line with how the eye naturally focuses in motion rather than by staring.

      Jacob's story of seeing perfectly clearly, yet still testing as having "myopic eyeballs" has always been a great source of inspiration and relief for me. If you are also a fan of his work, you may enjoy the new Episode 56 where I get to speak with him on my show - ruclips.net/video/EqhRW4q03z0/видео.html
