    I knew Sue, his daughter and also her daughters. And of course Sue was an excellent singer. They were our neighbors. In 1966, they took me down to Hindman. I was only 9 years old. We slept in the family cabin and I remember Mr. Stamper taking his fiddle out. The memory is still fresh in my mind. 🎻💖

    This is old stuff and needs to be looked at in relation to the current commonly played version. To melodize, flatten out, change the circle, erase the syncopation, to my mind is a grave mistake. Thanks to the posters to keep the authenticity of the tune alive...

      @@arg4725 shut your ass with your "fancy" words for they speak nothing but ignorance, an authentic form of music is play as it was played originally, anything different is but a copy and not authentic, you cant play bluegrass if its Hick hop, you cant play country if its rock, you cant play rock if its rap.
