And to think I was the only one who got teary eyed from music that is presented to us from a god!
Lol we're all drawn to Dev. For the first couple of minutes I wasn't that much into it. Well before the song ended, it was like I was falling in love.

1:43 "Yet again I slept so poor". When I first heard it I though he was singing "Yet again I slept till 4" and my immediate thought was "Well if that doesn't describe depression I don't know what does"

RVP is unstoppable. He sounds better, is more sophisticated on every recording. Up there with the best drummers in metal. This track is a good return to form for Dev, too.

Did any of you manage to understand what the female back vocals say after the chours? From what I gathered it sounded like "suffer, suffer, suffer the (?)". I'm at a loss, and I really wanna know what she says. help! :v
I wonder if the chorus should be rendered: "let it go any way..."
There's actually a big difference if you think about it. "Any way" instead of "anyway" changes the meaning of what he's saying quite a bit. It also makes more sense, IMO.

You can thank Periphery's Nolly for that one. He engineered this album, and from what I've heard so far, he's done a fantastic job.

It didn't take long for Devin to become my favorite male vocalist, he's also an accomplished guitarist, but all that would be for naught if the music didn't grab you. Well, Devin is doing it album after album, this one is no exception. The band with Devin at the helm have crafted a sonic ear massage, looking forward to a complete/full listen to Transcendence.

I can't get over my immense love for this song and this album in general. I've been a fan of Devin for years but this album has legitimately blown away my expectations, and after quite a few albums that haven't lived up to the hype, this is so refreshing. The year in between Z2 and this album definitely shows, and proves that it was worth the wait.

Transcendence in general is the album Epicloud should have been, in my view. It's more textual and prog.
It's like Devin rediscovered his touch after (CoC aside), losing it a bit the 3 years beforehand.

Just got the Two CD edition of Transcendence. I've listened to the first disc twice. And I'm listening to the second disc right now. The single best production of the year, by anyone at all in the music biz. perfectly clear. Every frequency, every way this CD is supposed to hit you, is right on the mark.

Nope. They're touring and then he is working on promoting his book and then doing a symphony which he has titled 'The Moth'. I think I might be more excited for that than anything honestly.

Yet again Devin Townsend has inspired me to go into the studio and work on my album!!! Fuckin amazing. This guy has been the biggest inspirational force in my life since forever.
This only adds to the hype behind this album. Failure was heavy and wonderfully melodic, and this is long and complex and beautiful with one of the best choruses I've ever heard. I'm so excited for this album and the live performance in October.

This is worthy of some serious recognition. The album is shaping up nicely and it pays homage to all his previous canvases. Its refined. Followed Devin since i first heard Strapping when i was 11 (15 years ago) and its like listening to an audio book of his memoirs. Life in music, music in life, music is life..right?. Its like watching a child succeed more than you could ever dream and being overwhelmingly proud. You get connected and youre part of the happy times, the sad times, the frustrating times but ultimately you feel apart of the band and their journey. Thanks dude

I love Devin, easily my favorite musician and one of my favorite people in general, but I'm having a hard time getting into this track. I'll keep listening, though, and hopefully it grows on me.
