Home of course to Chelsea Football Club ⚽️ Now this is our 17th Premier League Stadium Tour this season so we've almost completed the mission - after this Stamford Bridge Stadium Tour we're only left with 3 more grounds to visit - Brighton's AMEX, Forest's City Ground and the famous Kenilworth Road in Luton! The stand might not look the best., but I am under the impression it was the 1st 3 story stand. The plan was to build this around the whole ground, but the stand was very expensive and put the club in debt forcing the sale of the 1970 team, and then subsequently quarter of a century of under-performing.
I'm Nigerian and a Chelsea fan and you have just taken me on a stadium tour while in my house😊

I think the new owners don't want to spend too much on stadium because of their intention to rebuild or renovate in the near future. The new owners actually repainted and tidied up a bit of it, but especially what was seen on TV. Great video

Most of what you see at Stamford Bridge is Ken Bates vanity project … he didn’t want to build a big stadium… he wanted hotels, restaurants, bars and gymnasiums. It was almost impossible to expand after that as Chelsea village behind the Shed End is part owned by homeowners. There is also the issue of railways on either side of the ground and the armed services veterans living behind the West Stand. I am unsure why RA didn’t want to modernise some of the current exterior…obviously spent most of his money on the players, training ground and divorces
Good vid mate. As a chelsea fan yes the ground is looking old but there is some nice touches. Hopefully a rebuild soon. Museum and Trophy room certainly are positives. 👍👍

Hey Ry, Great tour again…. Some Chelsea History, Ted Drake who was famous as an Arsenal player shaped the current crest as he discarded the Pensioner crest and replaced with The crest you saw on The Matthew Harding stand which is known as The Lion Rampant Regardant crest. Ted Drake was CFC Manager when they won Their First League Title in 1955. Chelsea Founder Gus Mears is buried a stones throw from Stamford Bridge, behind The Matthew Harding Stand at Brompton Cemetery. Thanks for making and posting. Looking forward to the next video.

I don't think FA Cup Finals were played at Selhurst Park, but Crystal Palace Park.
The yellow socks were change kit. Famous because of the 1970 Cup Final where Leeds had all white.

They've been very aggressive about filming around the ground for years it's not a recent thing.
Some of my family are Chelsea fans and they got stopped filming a few times over the years.

Did you get to Notts County & Mansfield on Friday? It was tiddling down all Thursday night so i wasnt sure if the game at Meadow Lane would be on. In the end,i think the pies would have been happy if the game had been called off 😊

Abramovich wanted to develop a new ground but couldn;t because the pitch is owned by a group not connected to the club - Chelsea pitch owners - who didn;t agree in big enough number to the move, so, basically, the club will probably always be on that site and any redevelopment will cost billions.

Its no secret that Chelsea are looking to redevelop/move to a new ground with plans going back to the best part of a decade , the outside does look uninspiring and tired but hopefully plans will be announced sometime in the summer i think is the hope from the club .
It’s not that bad on reflection, I just set myself up to be “WOWED” going by Chelsea’s stature as a top club 👉🏾 the restrictions on development have understandably not helped

Chelsea once played against my town of Basingstoke at the camrose manny years ago now sadly the camrose no longer exists they have a temporary home but yes :)

Wallowing in nostalgia.
So many things wrong with this video that I don't know where to start to be honest so I'll just concentrate on why it's not been expanded or they havent moved. Firstly it's situated in a tight spot with main roads and railway lines around it. Abramovich did get planning permission for a state of the art new stadium on the plot but then dropped it when the government refused his visa. Moving is not really an option either as this area is about the most expensive bit of real estate in the country and available nearby plots don't exist. Earls Court is the only possible option and the CPO would have to approve a move away from SB anyway. It's not the biggest stadium but it's also not a soulless sponsored bowl like The Emirates or a crumbling mess on a trading estate like Old Trafford. Chelsea, one name, one ground, one club since 1905.

I remember in oo 1991 going to a game at Stamford bridge to watch all things Chelsea v thr blue scum. Walked right in without paying. Steward asked who we were thinking we were CID. Ended up giving him a tenner to stay in. Try that now.
I was at Notts County last night and the stewards told a couple blokes off for looking through the fence because they had alcohol in their hands 🍺 they said “you’re not allowed to watch football with beer lads…” madness - they had tickets just popped to the bar for a pint as county were 3-1 down… the modern world ey…

Stamford Bridge is amazing and a proper English stadium to watch football, not a bad seat in the place (been to over 100 matches). Old Trafford is in a car park ffs. United fans are insufferable twits though so this is standard to me ha!😂

The so called car park as you put it was disabled peoples cars that was parked on the old greyhound track in front of the Shed. I think you need to do a bit more homework on grounds before you visit them as this was very poor.
