any idea where can I find info about the actual variants/versions/editions of the 2011 RS5? I was about to buy one but the silver knob and chrome buttons are not there, it just has like 4 black buttons
I wish my Dad had been more fun but he was a train driver and the calmest, most boring and unflappable person you could imagine, unless he was lost or drunk, usually both on holiday in Devon!
I'll certainly do my best haha... however having owned the B7 RS4 Saloon for a couple of years I can tell you they are an awesome bit of kit and you won't be disappointed with the Avant. Should hold its value relatively well too :)
As an Avid AUDI RS owner and fanboy i must say i really enjoyed this real world review, i totally agree all RS models should come with a flat bottom twirler as standard equipment. And may i suggest in future videos to protect the growth and longevity of your channel from the Karens and fun police to perhaps leave the kids at home until they are over 18 and legally classed as adults capable of making their own decisions. The fact Paul's son was in the backseat will undoubtedly ruffle feathers with those in the community that take great pleasure in forcing their moral beliefs on everyone else despite not being invited. The real world aspect might be a bit to real for some of these types, but to me i loved that stuff at his age..
Agree with Josh Brooks. Having had my kids in the car when speeding, I thought about it and concluded that they have no say in whether they want to be at risk. So became very defensive driver when they were in the my car. My cousin's son died with the driver who was driving at speed, showing off his sports car. It's your decision to speed in any car. It just raises the risk of a serious accident and the kids you have in the car, although most will love it, they don't have the choice. Liked the video though. Very informative.
I used to own Lexus IS-F s and this is the only other car that is smililar engine wise. I can't make up my mind which I should be getting the RS B8 or hte RS5 B8. @Robinsons Select Car Reviews how do they compare ?
That's a tough call to be honest, I think it depends on what you'd be using the car for. I would personally go for the RS4 as it's got that practicality element as well. The RS5 feels absolutely tiny inside and doesn't offer much space to do or store anything. Performance wise they're much the same but the 5 is more nimble, so if you're literally just looking to thrash it around for fun then the 5 wont disappoint. Hope that helps :)
I can't believe the tyre and brake costs. Was the brake per corner for a disc and a pad? Surely the tyres aren't that much. I have a B8 BE A5 with 19" wheels, and Mechelen PS4S tyres are £160 per corner. The B8 RS5 only has 20" wheels can't believe they're that much more?
That's for disk and pads I think yeah, the tyre choice is obviously up to the discretion of the owner but I wouldn't recommend getting sub quality breaks to save a few quid on a car that has nearly 450BHP! Recipe for disaster haha. I guess its the old cliché that you get what you pay for unfortunately. Its the same for the RS4's of this age as well.
Brake pads and rotors from ECS tuning looking at around $3500 USD here in NZ and a set of P Zero about $2500US for 20", expect about 30,000 kms a set so that's about $2000usd per 10,000 kms of running... And that's before you add on sport diff and dl501 trans sevice....another $1500 every 30,000
That's just my style of review mate, I try to provide real world feedback on what the car is actually like to own and drive. For facts and figures just google the car, there's loads of info about that sort of stuff that no one needs to hear from me :)
This is the same engine in the Audi R8 V10. The only difference is they took two cylinders off of it. The engine is severely downtuned, it is a monster v8 by every metric.. if you supercharged/ turboed it, it could make huge numbers
loved the fact that you also prefer b7. I have B7 and b8 RS4 and fully agree
Really enjoyed this review. Disappointed that you stopped making them!

Is the rs5 4.2 v8 engine the r8 5.2 v10 engine with 2 cylinders less?
Best affordable German N/A V8!
nice color, too. Sepang ftw!

Class as always lads
Cheers Ben :)
As were on RS’s.. Can you get a hold of a B7 Rs4 Avant? To compare, very close to making a purchase. 😅

Thanks for the reply.. Was originally thinking a Cayman S! Your reaction to the RS says it all... Lol, Enjoy!!
See him moving around makes me laugh 😂😂😂

Thats the perfect car for that dog great match if u had to take him r her for a ride 👍👍
Thanks mate, you're right there haha, both beasts!
I’m trying to find one of this used in China. Not easy. I believe the retail price was around 140,000 gbp here.
Wow!! yeah that's not exactly cheap haha maybe try to import one instead, this one is actually for sale now just out of interest.

@@RobinsonsSelectCarReviews I put Pirelli P-Zeros on mine and they're about 240 a corner. Got the pads and discs to come to at some point...

@@anonamas4261 and timing chain cost is hilarious🤣
Beut 🤘🏻
Original exaust?
Original exhaust but he has the valves permanently opened (subtle mod) so it has that full V8 growl 24/7
9:44 agree with you that steering wheel in rs5 just doesn’t go
Yeah I much prefer the flat ones, they're just more racy and stylish
Do more with your Brother 😂
Haha that's the plan mate, he plans to not be as hungover next time 😂
This video, just driving the car, no details about engine performance output figures!!!

I wouldn’t call it monstrous 😂😂😂 especially when there are cars in its class with almost 200 more horsepower
