- This was a good one...I liked it. We struggled in a couple of spots but made it all the way. Very scenic too. A little longer video than I would normally produce but I thought this ride would be better shown all at once rather than splitting it up.
That CT125 guy was me. Fun challenging ride. Thanks for filming!
That was a fun ride for sure. You rode like a champ! Glad you found my video as I was able to get a few clips of you riding ahead of me. I wish I could remember names better instead of saying "that CT125 guy" haha. Ride well!
Who doesn't love Moab, thanks for the memories...
I have been riding for a long time, and in 2022 I bought a T Dub. I haven't rode it enough to be really comfortable, but I am getting there. I am 77 years old, and it is harder to ride gnarly sections than it use to be. I did that trail on a quad a few years ago. I usually ride alone, but a little help would be nice on a trail like that. I live in Idaho, and we have some awesome trails here, BUT, some of them I refuse to ride on. I would not even want to WALK on those trails!!! If you make a mistake you will go over a cliff, and IF you survive, you will need a chopper to retrieve what is left of your bike. My thrill seeking days are over, however, I will still ride my quad over that kind of terrain. With my T Dub, I am a little bit more picky. LOL
Thanks for watching BOR! :) Yeah, Kane Creek does have some rough areas for sure. I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't enjoy this trail on her TW but I know she would ride in our 50" Rzr. I to am from Idaho about an hour/half north of Boise. I've only been back from our snowbirding for a couple of weeks but am looking forward to summer and some good old Idaho forest riding. Again, thanks for watching and hope you enjoy both your quad and TW! 😊
That would be a lot of fun on those bikes!! Those things will go about anywhere.
I assure you, the TW is more capable than I am haha. But I have a lot of fun (and some scary moments as well). 😃
Great video! Looks like you all had a blast. What a spectacular area. Believe I need to plan a road trip out there.
After my first visit to Moab and riding the trails I was hooked. You won't be disappointed by the riding. Crowds in town maybe but not out on the trail!
I really want to take my tw to Moab. I took my gag gas there last spring and wished I had bought my tw too!
All moto's are fun to ride in Moab. Well, maybe it would be a little harder on a Harley haha. I'm thinking a Gas Gas would have been really fun as well especially on the more technical trails but yeah, the TWs are a blast too so bring it along next time. 😊
Man, u's are the luckiest guys to have that to ride on. It's got everything and I bet it never gets old. Always good to see the TDubs doing gnarly things 😁 Great video! 😎
We had a great time riding this trail. Lots of variety on this one for sure! There is kind of a pride thing when we old folks can ride these TWs on the gnarly trails.
And proud u should be! Great to watch. Keep her lit guys! 😁😎
The whole of the Colorado Plateau is horrible place to visit and you certainly don't want to move there.
Thanks 🤠
This is awesome man! I need to get out there again....on 2-wheels this time!
"Just do it". I think this line has been used before but appropriate! 😊
@@klnrgj01 haha too much planning and thinking, too little doing 😅
Wow!! Fat tired trials bike. You rode like a pro..
I still lack a lot of talent in technical areas of a trail but it sure was fun and best of all...we made it!
Awesome place! Looks like you guys had fun.
Turned out to be great fun. In the past we were to intimidated to try it. Now that we've done it, it will be on the ticket every trip to Moab. Thanks for watching. PS we stopped here on our way back from spending most, not all, of the winter in Arizona with some places I remember see from you videos.
Kane Creek was my absolute favorite riding in Moab....Our crew is going back next week, even though we're going to ride different areas than we did last year, we all agreed we are going back to Kane Creek👍
I agree, it's a must do trail when in Moab. I'd been riding in Moab once or twice a year since 2015 and can't believe I hadn't ridden this trail until this year. Hope you and your crew have a great ride!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
THANKS !!!
That was a fun ride. I'm the one on the monkey. I just subscribed to your channel
I bet you had fun.
You guys really showed that you don't really need a 2 stroke highly powered/torqued dirt-only bike to get through a technical trail like that. The T Dub does go anywhere and you guys showed patience, picking the right lines, and teamwork really pay off. Just curious as to weather you saw any other dual sport bikes attempting Kane Creek? Would a Himi or a DRZ400type dual sport be too heavy or should it only be attempted with the lighter more torqued bikes?
Thanks for watch. I don't think I saw any other dual sports riding it but I'm sure they have. The trail is pretty easy up to the point our group split up. A lighter bike would be easier to get up those two areas where we had to use teamwork. I think the TWs are capable but our talent levels are the limiting factor. None the less we had super fun and plan to ride it again in the future.
I have an old XT350 which is about the same as your DRZ400 weight wise. I'd be comfortable riding my XT350 knowing I'd struggle in the same 2 rough spots. With help I'd do it. Again, my talent level is not that great. Oh, and the XT is a kick start which sucks so you'd have an advantage with the DRZ in that regard should you stall in those tough areas. Thanks again for watching!
Would my 50-50 tires make it through all that terrain?
What type of tires do you have? If you are talking stock TW tires you'd be fine. One of the riders in our group was on a Honda CT125 with what looked like stock tires. He did wallow and squiggle in the sandy sections but made it.
Dream.
I’d do it again. It was a fun ride. The first real obstacle is doable if it wasn’t for the loose gravel/sand mix that denies the rear wheel traction when it’s most needed.
I loved this trail and would (will) ride it again for sure.
Just bought a 2016 TW with 314 miles on it. Haven’t broken it in yet
Wow, low miles. Should have many years of riding...once you break it in. Hopefully, you don't break it! :)
Wow i need to get out there to ride and Im assuming a 200cc 2 stroke ktm is plenty enough for the trails out there?
You'll love it out riding in Moab! I'm guessing a KTM 200 has much more power than our TWs...and a lot lighter making it easier to scoot up the rough areas. Thanks for watching!
200 xcw is about ideal for kane creek. You'll want to stay on the main route on not bypass - the hill is a short but rocky obstacle that a 200 can go up with minimum issue (I do it on a plated 500 excf). The ledge is the second obstacle and as long as you can loft the front you can clean that no problem. The creek section? You won't stop smiling for a week...
Well done
All that hard breathing.... Has got me really turned on... to go ride my dirt bike this weekend 🤣 cheers 🍺 from Duchene, Utah
haha! I breath heavy cause I'm old! I hope you went out riding cause that's the intent of me posting my videos...to encourage folks to go ride...and breath heavy while riding! 😁
I've been to Moab several times and no way would I ride a TW there. They are way harder to ride than a regular enduro bike.
Well, there are times I wish I had something better but you gotta ride what you own right! I do have limits though so you won't see me riding Cliff Hanger, Pritchett Canyon or 5MOH over in the Swell! 🤪😊
@@klnrgj01 Dude your braver than I am on the TW..keep on riding.
just ride around what you call 'trail blockers', they are there for us all so let's all try to be fair
I probably should address this "trail blocker" comment as it comes up from time to time. I also own a RZR so I understand completely and this isn't just from a frustrated mean motorcycle rider point of view. My comments are meant to bring trail/road awareness and courtesy. By the time I make a "trail blocker" comment I've been riding behind someone for a very long time who must not be paying attention, mad at us following or whatever. I'm very patient and I understand one has to find a safe location to pull over but passing many safe pullout areas sometimes for miles, it gets a little old. I will pass someone who isn't pulling over if it's safe to but I try to give the driver/rider ahead time to pull over on their own. So to the folks who are mad or frustrated with my "trail blocker" comments, I'll refrain from making comments insulting those riders or drivers in the future.
Might be a fun ride, but boring to watch.
You got one thing right...way more fun to ride than to watch. Hopefully, you'll find less boring videos to watch in the future. Take care.
@@klnrgj01 My rush to judgment- I had only watched the first part on the easy part of the trail. The spicy part was another story. But my bike riding days are over; these days I enjoy Moab in 4x4 vehicles in deference to my back.
@@robertherrmann4823 I get it. We have a RZR also and spend some days in it (wife driving of course) as those not riding a bike days approach. 4x4's are fun too!
