Yeah I'm 70, I don't think I'll be climbing to the top of guatape, but must admit it's gorgeous! I absolutely love Medellin and have now been 3 times in the past 1 1/2 years. It's such a beautiful city. I haven't made a coffee farm tour yet, but it's on my list of things to do.

I did the exact same coffee tour 2 years ago. I also did the horse ride afterwards, which was the highlight of my trip. Went to Guatape, went to Octavia, Comuna 13, etc. Such a beautiful city and I can't wait to return for all the stuff I missed!
From a genuinely goofy happy person, you have a genuinely goofy happy look which I think is so attractive. I don't usually even say that on RUclipsrs channels but you look so happy and that is the most attractive quality to me in people. I am moving to Medellin the first part of August. I have help about 12 different people set youtube channels and I have a degree in cinematography. I think it's time to start my own. With what I draw from the military I can easily qualify for a retiree visa there. I know this was 2 years ago and I am going to try and catch up on your channel.
As a Colombian I vouch for this video and will add that in Colombia we really welcome tourists of all nationalities. That said, I have to disagree on one small point. Uber is a better choice than local taxis. Uber is NOT illegal in Colombia. Basically, Uber works on a "rental agreement" legal basis. This is just a formality and from a user perspective it just means that you just give a couple more clicks from your phone. But Uber is safer, they won´t overcharge you just for being a foreigner and you can put it on your credit card without worriyng about local change. Be safe and come to Colombia!

I even learned a little (hey, there are a lot of bars in Zona Rosa; I can't hit them all!) It's also pretty cool that you did the tour near Guatape / El Penol without mentioning "he who should not be named". One correction I'd make: while Uber is indeed illegal in Medellin, it still beats cabs silly; cabs here are no more reliable, usually rude to pedestrians, and sometimes corrupt. I also feel compelled to say: never get drunk in Medellin at night by yourself -- even in the best neighborhoods.

I would not get a local SIM card... Unless you're staying for a substantial amount of time I don't feel that it's worth it the rules and regulations have changed since this video was published. They will now ask you for your Tax ID number or immigration number and if you don't have either of those you cannot get quality phone service.
