What an amazing place to go and explore! As your mom I am always supportive of your wanderlust travels however, when you said you were going to Columbia I was nervous 😬 yet I just knew you would be safe. I was so Happy and Proud of you when you returned to Canada 🇨🇦 and told me of this Beautiful Country. I too, at times get caught up in the myths of the media and for this I am Sorry. I look forward to returning with you and exploring this country and it’s respectful and kind people.....my Girls as we are Indigenous/First Nation of Canada we understand Diversity and being open to learning and always accepting of other cultures. BRAVO to you and may I say Incredible Editing. Love and Respect.
Cherokee K. Watson My mother is terrified too lol.
It's Colombia not Columbia.
delfina128 it’s España not Spain, stop worrying so much about one letter.
Awe Thanks, I'm colombian and I really appreciate your comment, Colombia is so much more than all the things people talk about, hope you and your daughter can visit so you can see for yourself how beautiful it really is, God bless you all, greetings from USA 🇺🇸 🙏🇨🇴✌️
I've been to Cartagena twice and I LOVE it!! I am going to Medellin on Saturday. I can't wait!!!! Thanks for sharing. :-)
How did you like it?
Thanks for the video. I'm about to pull the trigger on my meddelin trip. Going solo as well. Thanks so much for the inspiration awesome vid
Thank you for watching and happy travels 👍
My father was born(1907) in guatapé long before the hydroelectric dam was built.. the little town has changed quite a bit since then although it has not grown much (fortunately). love canadian english and canadian people, glad you liked Medellin and its surroundings
I will be going to Medellin next month for first time. I am an American from the Northeast, but my wife is from Barranquilla, a city of 1.5M people which is on the Atlantic coast and extremely humid and hot. I would venture to say there were possibly 10 buildings beyond 12 stories 10 years ago and now there are easily greater than 50. There was one mall there 10 years ago and currently least 6 and most are more impressive than in the US. I have a duplex condo on top floors in the city I rent out but wish it was in Medellin instead. Good work on the video, you are good at Vlog
I just returned from a solo trip to Medellin My best ever vacation I was there for 3 weeks would have stayed longer The coronA 🦠 made me leave! 😔
I’ve been holding myself back from going alone. I think you’ve convinced me! :) Subscribed!
Jesus Aguilar I will meet you there lol
Did you get a chance to go?
Very grateful of you traveling to my country Colombia and vlog in different cities.
Thanks for watching Bernardo!
I just stumbled across this video somehow. But thank god I did! I am planning to buy a ticket to Medellin sometime this week for ten days. Like you, I am going solo for the first time and a Canadian as well (reciprocity fee information was so helpful). Thanks for uploading this video!
That's awesome! It's exactly the reason I wanted to make these Colombia vlogs a bit different than my others, with more tips and 'what to expect' info! Have fun on your trip, Medellin is a great city.
Thankfully that visa fee for Canadians was cancelled a few years ago.
Thanks for sharing the video... medellin is a beautiful city.. very modern and very friendly people... and more
nothing like be a solo traveler! doing any asia trip tour same way. Can't wait!
Medellin is the best kept secret from america... Every place is dangerous depends where you go... Greetings from this colombian living abroad..
Awesome; way to get up and go. Awesome.
Beautiful city, good job!👍👍
Saludos a todos. desde marruecos😊🙋
LOVE!! I'm also Canadian and will be heading in a few weeks.
I'm canadian too! I'm going in August!
@@AlejandraGallo I'm going in June! I'll let you know if I have any tips. I think I'm staying at the same hostel in Medellin as her
Thank you for doing this video. I'm a woman considering traveling to Colombia alone and I was debating whether it was a good idea or not. I was concerned about safety and the fact that I'm not fluent in Spanish. But, this video has given me more confidence to go there alone. Did you face any challenges being there without speaking Spanish?
That's awesome! It's really not as big a deal as we make it out to be in our minds before leaving. The idea of traveling alone in rural Colombia before I left made me slightly nervous...but turned out to be the most relaxed and safe I felt the entire trip. For Spanish, I'd study some basic words and you'll be fine (I don't speak Spanish and didn't have major probs). You'll definitely pay more for things not speaking spanish (like taxis) but it's all good.
@@kyramioso Awesome, thanks!
HELL YES ! amazing country eh?? Glad it was as enjoyable for you as it was for me :)
Yes it's awesome! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much for spreading the message. Colombia is not like media tell us it is.
Comuna 13, one of my fave places in Colombia! Me-de-jeen
This is awesome and informative, thanks!
I love my country very much
Loved the Vid. Wish I saw this before my virgin trip.. *subbed
Great vídeo. .. thank you só much for visit this beautifful City ... la ciudad de la eterna primavera ...
Canadians no longer need to pay the $80 CAD entry fee. :)
Im planning on going top Colombia this year.. I am living in the us
0:40 haha yeah. I went back and forth on it while i was there. They’re technically both correct 😅. The people in Colombia told me the locals in Medellin say it differently and the majority in Colombia say it the way most people say it. ❤️🇨🇴
Great content keep going
The gondolas were built many years ago, they just have new lines
You will make a good reporter, awesome vlog 👏🏻. / Q: does the hostel provide tours? And if yes please share with me its name :) 🙏🏻
In what area in Medellin is your hostel and how much you paid a day!?!?
So helpful!! I'll be vlogging my trip too :)
Thank you! Have fun, Colombia is so cool
I am so glad the way that you have enjoyed and portrayed my city. On the other hand and with all due respect, you are very beauty curvy lady, regards.
Wow Columbia is so beautiful! The small town you went to was stunning. Side note: what camera do you film with? The quality is so nice. And where was that place with the ball pit at the end?
It's Colombia not columbia😊
I'm from Bogota Colombia if you want to go to Colombia and your intention to visit Colombia is knowing about Pablo Escobar going to medellin because you like Narcos the TV series from Netflix or american films where pablo escobar is showed like a kind of hero, don't travel to Colombia,
Pablo Escobar isn't a hero for us colombian people
He was a criminal and he is a shame to Colombia
Pablo Escobar killed just in Bogota 7000 innocent people between 1980 and 1993 and in the rest of the country he killed more than 20,000 inocent people using bombs and hitmen
In medellin maybe a few poor people admired him but in bogota and the rest of colombia people hate him
So if your intention is that, better return to your country
It's very offensive to the most of Colombian people talking about Pablo Escobar and we are very bored that foreiners think all colombians are bad people or many pablos escobar just for having a colombian passport due to the American movies or Netflix TV series or for a few people who like to work in that of world or for the pablo escobar image, but in Colombia he was a criminal and people hate him he killed women children old people and many people in colombia,
he isn't a proud he is a shame and a criminal not a hero
My wife is from Barranquilla and she hates to see people in Boston area smoking marijuana freely around city parks even though recreational pot is legal as well as growing in your house. Colombians abuse cocaine in their country but it would be safe to say drugs are much more rampant in the US by far.
Not a single.person Here in medellin admires that killer ...we all want to abolish his name of our memories ..the only ones who admires him and want to know about that history is people coming from another countries
Why u r so pretty, thanks for come here💗
Wow, you’re brave, good video and do you speak spanish. Those people who make disparaging comments are narrow minded. They need to get with the program and not stuck in the past.
Great Vlog, Thank you for sharing :)
Im thinking to travel alone ..how is it..is it safe
Great tips! I'm Canadian as well and am off to Colombia in a few days and had no idea about the fee! So thank you. Did you pay cash? In their pesos?
with my Visa in Canadian dollars.
That fee seems high. I only paid 80.000 COP ($35 CDN) entering Cartagena end of March.
@@redzizz I paid 201.000 COP and have an official migracion receipt too. It's expensive to travel anywhere during peak season (I went in December for Christmas and New Years). Also, I believe they charge you based on the amount of time you will spend there, which for me was a couple of weeks.
@@kyramioso March is the best time. Low season.
It's pronounced medejin but yes it's awesome I was in Medellin last year right now I'm in Bogota
I just got back from Bogota and Im from Canada and I did not pay a fee. 🤷🏻♀️
Oh and Uber is not legal, get in the front seat, it helps the driver ;)
Colombia government reversed the reciprocity fee this year! Good news for Canadians traveling to Colombia we don't have to pay a fee now, but before then Canadians had to pay to enter Colombia.
Inspiring travel vlog! Which hostel did you stay at in Medellin, did they have female-only rooms?
Yes it was a female only 6 bed dorm! I stayed at a cool, modern hostel called Los Patios Hostel Boutique. Super cool place, would recommend!
has somebody been on la seiva,is it save to go there?
What hostle did you stay at in medellin. How much did you spend per day on average
Im going next month if all goes as planned. What do you recommend for site seeing....
Im coming from boston
I love how you pointed out the significant of the condolas to the people of "las comunas".
Gondolas*
What hostel did you stay at in Medellin and was it very social?
Was your hostel close to the city center? If yes which hostel was it
Did you visit Parque Lleras in Medellin?
Parque lleras is nice
I believe that she did not visit the park lleras
Lovely video..can you give info on the tour..how did you find them? Thanks
Thanks for watching! I went on a walking tour booked through the hostel I was staying at. Very easy to find many different walking tours online and at your accommodation. Happy travels :)
Canadians have to pay to enter to colombia $ 90 dollars this is because Colombians have to pay to enter Canada..👋👋👌
I BELIEVE THIS WAS ABOLISH RECENTLY BY BOTH COUNTRIES AND PRESIDENTS AFTER A AGREEMENT.
@@josesuarez7452 yes I think so.
giorgio velez Tic for Tad
Looks hot!🔥 Skytram 🚋 very cool option. Beats city buses every day 🚍 unless you're riding a bullet train 🚄💥 thru Japan 🇯🇵 Ohayo gozaimasu!
Buenas tardes~☀😎✌🏽
I thought you were a Colombian girl speaking English... nice video!
now thats what i call a vacation
Cool video. Which camera do you use?
Sony mirrorless cameras are my go-to
why does Canadians have to pay a fee to enter the country I have been there many times from Florida and never paid a fee ?
Simply because Canada charges Colombians to enter Canada, so Colombia charges Canadians too.
Great vid 👌
2weeks n Medellin eat cheap & live cheap how much money do I need??? 🤔🤔🤔
God bless & stay safe ☝️☝️☝️
What Camera did you used...? Looks great
Sony mirrorless cameras - can't recommend enough
@@kyramioso .... Thank you for responding..much appreciated!
They kept telling me i was going to get kidnapped.
Do you know about how much you spent on Ubers vs taxi?

Nice 👍..
How was the language barrier?
It was a noticeable barrier, however I was able to get by and still enjoy my time immensely in Colombia. Download the google translate app, that will help find the words when needed.
