Got the both Shenmue 1 and 2 on ps4 and starting playing with the first one week ago. I didn't played it back then cause I was a nintendo gamer more and I was into Zelda Ocarina of time back then. The weird thing is, 20 years later I have actually been to Hong Kong and Guillin. I remember visiting them (and Singapore before) about 15 years after playing the game, and thinking... weird, these streets, these shops are just like Shenmue 1 and especially 2. At the time I have no concept of what the vibe in Asian cities was, and Shenmue captured it to the point that it actually matched some of the reality.
Asia continues to change and grow. Many of the streets and shops have changed. While some remain true to the old days, video games like Shenmue immortalize the feeling of the towns and communities as they were. There are people in their 30s-50s who boot up Shenmue, and remember the good old days.
Yes Shenmue brothers and sisters the wait is over!! Gonna play Shenmue 1&2 after this history in making campaign. Sincerely thanking all you beautiful people!!
BillyTheBigDeal I think I cried when I heard this... I have Shenmue for my still working Sega Dreamcast... and own Shenmue 2 for original X Box... I can't believe Shenmue 3 is coming out.. Best game of all time. Shenmue was a UFO back then, never played a similar game before, it was just so realistic, immersive, unique, poetic. I fell in love with Japan ever since playing the first Shenmue. And the musics of this game are just amazing! Shenhua's theme still gives me goosebumps to this day.
Shenmue fans... I don't know if you feel the way I feel, I'm certainly thinning you do. Last night when the music played... And we heard the fantastic soundtrack this game had to offer. Shivers went down my spine. I could not believe what I was seeing, After all these years of waiting, asking if there's going to be another Shenmue game, thinking we'll never get closure of this brilliant series. It happened. I never ever thought I'd live to see the day that Shenmue 3 would even be a possibility, I always knew Yu Suzuki wanted to do it, but I never thought he would. And now after 14 long years, it's actually a reality. We're getting this. Back when I was a kid, Shenmue was really the first game that introduced me to such a great video game story, I had played Zelda, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy. But none of that really captured me like Shenmue did. I fell in love with Japan through this game, the characters, the story, the locations, just everything. For years Sega refused to listen, people saying the fan base was none existent. We proved them all wrong by having Shenmue 3 backed in under 12 hours. Maybe now we'll actually get a Shenmue 1 and 2 HD remaster. One can hope, but even if we don't we'll have this. Might be another couple of years, but after 14, who cares? We know it's real and we know we'll see the next chapter in this magical series.
Yeah I thought we lost ALL hope.....................until that fateful day. Me and my 3 sisters were watching E3 2015 and then Shenmue 3 was ANNOUNCED and I can just remember my little sister (Kate) crying her eyes out in PURE JOY!!!. I shed a few tears as well as i looked at my older sisters (Jane and Katherine) they were ASTONISHED at first and then they started screaming in happiness and we had a Sibling Group Hug. GREATEST MOMENT EVER!!!!!
Leon Munns And Shenmue is NOT JUST A GAME...........................................................ITS AN ADVENTURE!!!. A true Shenmue fan will ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT!!
i agree with you! but somehow im afraid that shenmue 3 could bring bad stuff to this magic experience... they are putting limits in what they could do if they dont get the enough money.. maan thats a bad signal to me, hope that shenmue 3 doesnt change what a feel.
jackbauer5220 I come from the future, Shenmue 3 is delayed to 2019, but Shenmue 1+2 HD remaster is a reality and released in 2018! As for what happens in Shenmue 3, I have not the heart or will to tell you, the pain is still too deep... Poor Tom...
I just recently played this for the first time. And it gave me such a warm, fuzzy, bittersweet nostalgia of my youth gone by. This game really captures something in you
I cried remembering the moments I experienced from the game, truly a simple but wonderful experience to go through playing shenmue 1 and 2. Then to be alive to play 3. It makes me happy
I've not played Shenmue 3 yet. I've been very hesitant to try it, and I don't really want to watch much gameplay in case I do play it. It's a hard decision to me, because I feel like it won't live up to expectations. It's also been so long since that summer when me and my brother played the games throughout the nights. Taking turns a whole night trying to take down Chai after having spent hours training moves in a parking lot and stuff :P I actually managed to down him, was the most exciting moment I had ever had back then, I must've been like 10-11 years old or something lol
@@ingainloggningsnamn I got Shenmue 3 for free from Epic Games and I finished it a while ago. Unfortunately I say that you better not play the game if you expect something at least "similar" to 1 and 2 (exactly, it manages to be much worse than games from 20 years ago, even the combat got worse). It didn't take 15 minutes of gameplay for my immersion and experience to be gone. I realized that Shenhua was not well characterized at the beginning, the story of Shenmue 3 begins immediately at the end of Shenmue 2 and Shenhua was behaving very differently, both in her lines and in her temperament, something that should not happen as the story begins at the same point without interruption, not to mention she was given a new voice that sounded quite different to me. The characters interacted with empty lines and it seemed that they no longer had a soul, the atmosphere of the old games was no longer there, and if you persist and give the game a chance you will only see the obvious, that this pattern will remain until the last second ... I think the only cool thing about the game is the possibility that Ryo can buy phone cards and call his friends and family individually and find out how they are doing, this is one of the moments that brings us to Shenmue 1+2 again. But the game is so boring that my advice is that you watch this part on RUclips anyway hahaha Overall, it's a game made without any care. I'm glad I didn't pay anything for it, but I can tell you that even for free it was a painful experience. Maybe these things I said don't affect people who played a long time ago and don't remember the experience and the characters as they really were, now if you have a vivid memory of what Shenmue is, the best thing is to stay far away from the third game, which for me is not even canonical, at least for me 😅😐😭
Truly the greatest game I ever played. I was 11 when the first was released. Still have both games and my Dreamcast. I wish more people could have experienced the first 2. No game has absorbed me into its world like Shenmue. The full experience is just indescribable. Of course I am a backer of 3 and can't wait to play again as a grown man with manly man tears running down my cheeks
Listening to the title track while strolling through Yokosuka on a clear, peaceful, starlit night after a hard day fighting sailors and driving forklifts... Eternal memories right there.
That's exactly how I feel about it haha Shemue means a lot to me, I grew up overplaying the first and second on my Dreamcast If I die never playing or knowing how it ends i'd die a very sad man and i'm not even joking
Thank you so much for uploading this and including a download link. Now in my collection. I am new to Shenmue, only played part 1 and 2 over the last few months. Beautiful games, absolutely amazing.
SHENMUE FANS!! The fight isn't over yet! Just because the kickstarter hit the funding goal still does not get us the Shenmue 3 that Yu Suzuki has had planned all these years! We need to get this funded to as close to $10 million as we possibly can. PLEASE dont stop spreading the word! There are campaigns on facebook to spread the word to people like Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brian to get them to do something Shenmue related and promote the kickstarter as they are both fans of gaming. DONT STOP EVERYONE!
Simply magical. The greatest game ever, with such unbelievable immersion. The music brings me back to when I first played it and that awestruck feeling. Please SEGA, do a Shenmue 3, I will personally buy a million copies!
As the soundtrack was essential part of the feeling Shenmue transmitted to us players, I hope Yu Suzuki will again put a lot of effort into the soundtrack and emotional moments, which still separate these 2 games steps ahead of most other games out there nowadays. Technically the games may appear a bit "rusty" or outdated today (but not if you think that over 15 years have gone since they where released)... but the way it involved the player was the difference. The small details like caring for a kitten, seeing your mother worried for you... seeing the relationship between Ryo and Nozomi crumbling because of his hunger for vengance... i hope Yu has not forgotten what the game needs to feel like :) and I hope new players nowadays will be able to get into a game that ain't just about fighting and/or tactics. But looking on success of some games I believe that if they do it right it could be a big success this time around... if they get the right twist between story, romance/feeling, suspense and action. I'm sure Yu Suzuki has not lost his grip and will bring back the Shenmue we loved then (and still love).
Im not even joking. I am 26 years old and this is the first time I have heard of Shenmue. I found out about this game from a sample that a rapper used on his track. I am really touched by the community of the game and am shocked that everyone banded together to fund-raise the third installment of this game. I am actually really looking into playing this game as I found out the from individuals in the comments that the remaster is available on PS4, which I currently own. I am happy I stumbled across this OST, its beautiful in every way.
SEGA was magic, adventure and dreams, and is like it lost it all. Is truly sad, I feel like the new generation of games don't compare in story telling like SEGA did.
This soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece. The attention to detail in every aspect of this game truly makes it stand head and shoulders above any other. Despite the poor sales, it astounds me that the game itself is not unanimously regarded as the greatest ever amongst critics who should have played and reviewed it.
This was one of the best games I’ve played in my childhood. I always tried to remember the name of it when I grew up. I searched & searched until I found it. I can watch all of the game movies for hours. & the soundtrack is so soothing I listen to it for meditation. Best game invented.
One of the Most Innovative Games Ever. Soundtrack idyllic, Asian-centric, super fantastic. The game itself is something else - a tragic event that takes place, but Ryo does most of his work in the town he grew up in.
Back when gaming companies would put their heart and soul into a product they truly cared about. The gaming business has become an absolute shambles nowadays it really is heartbreaking.
Uno de los juegos de mi juventud, quizá con el que más he disfrutado y he aprendido inglés. Tengo unas ganas terribles de volver a jugarlos en los remaster este año. Magnífica bso, gracias.
People always shit on Shenmue saying they prefer Yakuza, I'm a big fan of both and i can say that they are not the same. Sure Toshihiro Nagoshi (the creator of Ryu Ga Gotoku) worked on the first game so they have similar DNA The only thing they share is they both take place in real places, and they have minigames. Yakuza i admit has the advantage because its on newer hardware but both strive for different things and I wish people would stop comparing the two in a way that shits on the other. i do think its a shame Shenmue failed because of Sega abandoning it basically. It's in a very weird spot right now. It does make me think "What if" Sega didn't stop in the console market? We were lucky to even get Shenmue 2 at all so that's a blessing in itself. I'd be shocked if we even get a Shenmue 4 with the reception to 3. I don't understand Yu Suzuki but i do admire his determination.
Man the sound track is beautiful one of the best and man shenmue 3 is coming just thinking about shenmue 3 and playing the first and second brings tears to my eyes T-T
Shenmue Will always b the RPG that paved the way 4 others. had features in the game still 2 this day games don't have. still till this day my fingers are crossed 4 the 3rd game. even 4 a HD Collection
'Sometimes I just wish time would just stand still'.....Thanks a lot Nozomi! Thanks, its been stood still for the past 17 years : / Finally going to be getting out of that cave though... : p
Does anybody stop to listen to the soundtrack it takes you to another place it's so calming and relaxing its beautiful love it from the heart 🙏🤱👱♀️🙏😭🙂🙏
I loved playing this game, but when you play the english version it sounds like a low-budget Martial Arts film with english voice-over (which I still love ;D). I wish my dreamcast wasn't stuck in my garage mess. I also love how this game makes a cutscene just for flipping a light-switch. And the story... GREAT. I really hope for more games like this today. Too bad most games today are alike repetitive.
what a beautiful tribute we have here... many years have passed and although I have been able to play great games there are very few who are up to this saga, I hope to be able to enjoy Shenmue 4 in the future.
The only game that makes me feel alive. Makes me feel I am there at the village, interacting with people, very close experience. Feels like I am in Japan, paying attention to the details. Maybe one day I will go to Japan but until there, this game transported me there. It’s an emotion rollercoaster. Glad many people share this feeling. Thanks for the video which brings all this back to me 😊

Shenmue 1 and 2 remastered is a fact! This game is back!
jackbauer5220 I come from the future, Shenmue 3 is delayed to 2019, but Shenmue 1+2 HD remaster is a reality and released in 2018! As for what happens in Shenmue 3, I have not the heart or will to tell you, the pain is still too deep... Poor Tom...
Still remains the best two games ever made. Nothing has come close since their release. Always in my heart, Shenmue
I just recently played this for the first time. And it gave me such a warm, fuzzy, bittersweet nostalgia of my youth gone by. This game really captures something in you
That's how good it is. You didn't even have my experience playing it as a kid and you still got the same feeling. A truly beautiful thing.
I was told about this game from older family members and decided to play it on PS4 both took me by surprise on how good it was
The music has always been the best part of the game. It fits in perfectly with the epic storyline.....
the greatest story never fully told
Now that Shenmue 3 is a thing that will hopefully not be the case anymore.
@@KeyToAnime Yeah right. Yu should write a fkn book at this point!
Besides Berserk... :(
@@KeyToAnime shame that never happened!
The music for Shenmue was breathtaking the soundtrack is a masterpiece. Shenmue is my favourite game of all time.
But the game is so boring that my advice is that you watch this part on RUclips anyway hahaha
Overall, it's a game made without any care.
Same here!
well... your wish was granted with the first 2 games :)
Still one of the most underappreciated soundtracks in gaming, damn i love this too much
Shenmue..my god, The Epic masterpiece in history of Sega. Spechless. Yu Suzuki you are the god of Sega forever.
Shenmue 3 is 25% funded on kickstarter in 20 minutes. We will definitely have ourselves a new Shenmue game on PS4 and PC
Sean Finley 50% now! WOOOHOO~
Farman Pirzada
Over 100%
Beautiful, evocative music. Perhaps the best two games ever made.
These songs and this game changed my life. So many happy memories, playing this during winter break from school! ❤❤❤❤❤
Greatest video game of all time. A transcendental masterpiece.
La délicatesse des musiques de Shenmue. C'est splendide...
Oui c'est vrai, c'est tellement magnifique et pur.
FFVII, TLOZ: Ocarina of time, Shenmue (saga). The best videogames of the history. NO DOUBT!!!!!!!!!!
You my man just earned your place in heaven
Can I add Skies of Arcadia to that list?? greets
You forgot Mario 64 but I'll let you off with it you were close enough
Gonza Guti Awesome game, yes, why the fuck not haha
LCmedel The Colonel speaks a lot of sense. Shenmue is finger licking good!
Listening to the title track while strolling through Yokosuka on a clear, peaceful, starlit night after a hard day fighting sailors and driving forklifts...
Eternal memories right there.
Lol
Those fade memories awake me again.
Thumbs up if you came on this page to listen to the Shenmue soundtrack after hearing the announcement that Shenmue 3 got kickstarted again at E3.
We should have a party playing this tune 1:47:00 lol love n it
Sega just now (a couple hours ago) has registered domain names "Shenmue HD" and "Shenmue Remaster"! THIS IS COOL!
yes, I got them on ps4. They are awesome!!!!!
Best game ever played.....
SHENMUE 3 PLEASE. THE HISTORY MUST BE ENDED. I HAVE TO PLAY IT BEFORE DYING.
That's exactly how I feel about it haha Shemue means a lot to me, I grew up overplaying the first and second on my Dreamcast If I die never playing or knowing how it ends i'd die a very sad man and i'm not even joking
I played it on my Dreamcast too!!! Old times man... were amazing. If it doesn´t get released we suicide toguether, promise. ajjajajajaja
Domingo Artiles Even if Sega just released an online manga, just something to finish the story would be nice, at least there would be an end.
Domingo Artiles I would give my left testicle for Shenmue 3 and 4
car1it0sWAY Nah just give 29 bucks to Yu Suzuki in the next 31 days.
懐かしい名曲達ですね。30代を思い出します
I came here again after Shenmue 3 announced.
Devastator G1 same here!
Devastator G1 Me toooooo!
Devastator G1 me too ^^
Devastator G1 lol same hereeeeee
Now for the happy tears Shenmue brothers... No more sadness 😂
this is pure emotion, I love it with my whole heart
Christmas on Dobuita Street always make me cry T_T
It reminds me of the sad music from Clannad for some reason
Meryyyyyy christmasu
@@VertPingouin is that how you say Merry Christmas in Japanese?
I got chills within ten seconds. This is great.
Shenmue and zelda two of my favorite franchises of all time
Thank you so much for uploading this and including a download link.
SEGA is still alive! i thougth she died but she survived as a game developer; i hope they finish this piece of art as well.
Lol you better find some cardboard boxes...lol Shenmue 3 is coming🎉🎊💥🎆🎇
littleblackcloud86 How about pledging that million? we need it now!!! go to Kickstarter and Pledge!!!!
Damn guys, I better start doing some over-time!!!
I sleep playing this soundtrack the past three days .. Ty for sharing .. Shenmue ,spread the love
Excuse me, I'd like to ask you something. Do you know where sailors hang out?
+akiflyer I dont know about that kind of stuff bye ryo!
Try MJQ jazz bar!
I see...
About that day...
LOL
I am happy I stumbled across this OST, its beautiful in every way.
who was the rapper?
Back when SEGA was real.
crazlEgamer02 I know, Jesus. Breaks my heart. They were so good up until 2002 or 2003.
+crazlEgamer02 They were so real man. So damn real.
+Kzaaps hahaah!
SEGA was magic, adventure and dreams, and is like it lost it all. Is truly sad, I feel like the new generation of games don't compare in story telling like SEGA did.
I fully agree J-man...
This soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece. The attention to detail in every aspect of this game truly makes it stand head and shoulders above any other. Despite the poor sales, it astounds me that the game itself is not unanimously regarded as the greatest ever amongst critics who should have played and reviewed it.
+Alex Craske if only it was more widespread in America :D hopefully more people get to experience it!
Ryo Hazuki is Based on Me.
Sony and Microsoft needs to make it for PS3 and 360
Masterpiece game! It should be remastered.. Imagine this game with a PS5 image quality ..
they were actually developing a remake but unfortunately it got cancelled, you can see some footage on youtube of it, it's such a shame....
This was one of the best games I’ve played in my childhood. I always tried to remember the name of it when I grew up. I searched & searched until I found it. I can watch all of the game movies for hours. & the soundtrack is so soothing I listen to it for meditation. Best game invented.
This game was, and still is a masterpiece
glad to see this RUclips channel still up after 10+years. can't wait for the next soundtrack.
Uno de los mejores videojuegos de toda la historia.Gracias Yu szuki por enseñarnos lo grande que eres, por favor dreamcast 2 ya.
Fantastic soundtrack - incredibly moving. IT'S ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE A VIDEO GAME
IT'S BEEN FUNDED!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! :D
For me it is a work of art!... A game of life itself!... Totally immersive! It's beautiful to remember that feeling! THANK YOU Yu Suzuki and SEGA
One of the Most Innovative Games Ever. Soundtrack idyllic, Asian-centric, super fantastic. The game itself is something else - a tragic event that takes place, but Ryo does most of his work in the town he grew up in.
Best game ever made
SHENMUE 3 IS HAPPENING
Ryo has just been confirmed as a playable support unit in Project X Zone 2.
SHENMUE LIVES
Ikr, him and Phoenix Wright are like the only reasons I'm getting it and I didn't even like Project X Zone 1
Your video/slideshow and soundtrack compilation is very well done. Thanks for the music.
Back when gaming companies would put their heart and soul into a product they truly cared about. The gaming business has become an absolute shambles nowadays it really is heartbreaking.
Finally!!!! Shenmue has come back. Only thing left is Sonic Adventure 3.
いいですねー
海外の方々の評価の高さが半端ないですね
We will meet again on the battlefield Lan Di.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
awesome HD graphics, and great work pairing the visuals to the music
Shenmue 3 is coming!!!! :D Vamoooos!!! The best soundtrack ever created... and the best game. 14 years waiting... :D
One of the best soundtracks for one of the best games! Bring shenmue 3 guys to next gen consoles!
Uno de los juegos de mi juventud, quizá con el que más he disfrutado y he aprendido inglés.
Tengo unas ganas terribles de volver a jugarlos en los remaster este año.
Magnífica bso,gracias.
I don't understand Yu Suzuki but i do admire his determination.
amazing thanks for the upload!
Listening to this today at work awaiting my Shenmue 3 to turn up, can't believe it's finally here, it has been a long wait!!
Cannot explain the feeling this game gives me. I love it! Always will!
How about a game of lucky hit?
Have you seen any men wearing black suits?
damn.. this ost is AMAZING
Man the sound track is beautiful one of the best and man shenmue 3 is coming just thinking about shenmue 3 and playing the first and second brings tears to my eyes T-T
so many nights playing this epic game, good old times
Muchas Gracias, por subir esta genial banda sonora
Un saludo para todos
Hell yes, I wasn't expecting this when I got a notification email. Thanks for this fantastic upload Ziming
Thank god for whoever made this ost
OMG THEY ADDED CHAPTERS TO THE VIDEO, YOU'RE THE FREAKING BEST 😊
Shenmue Will always b the RPG that paved the way 4 others. had features in the game still 2 this day games don't have. still till this day my fingers are crossed 4 the 3rd game. even 4 a HD Collection
Absolutely!
I understand. I already have.
Thank you for your efforts, regarding the channel.
'Sometimes I just wish time would just stand still'.....Thanks a lot Nozomi! Thanks, its been stood still for the past 17 years : / Finally going to be getting out of that cave though... : p
The art accompanying each track is a great reminder :)
Such a beautiful game....
what a beautiful tribute we have here... many years have passed and although I have been able to play great games there are very few who are up to this saga, I hope to be able to enjoy Shenmue 4 in the future.
replay it times and times , bring me to my unforgotten childhood
Ending credits music tears me up...😭
The only game that makes me feel alive. Makes me feel I am there at the village, interacting with people, very close experience. Feels like I am in Japan, paying attention to the details. Maybe one day I will go to Japan but until there, this game transported me there. It’s an emotion rollercoaster. Glad many people share this feeling. Thanks for the video which brings all this back to me 😊
Sandman: Dream Hunters + Shenmue Soundtrack = Perfect Harmony.
thank you for a beautiful video.
One of the best game soundtracks of all time for one of the greatest games of all time.
