Teams, people, players, states countries, ect and corporations used to take risk in design it turned out goated or dog water. Now everything is simplified and safe let's be real nobody's favorite flavor of ice cream is milk flavored. All the designs are simple soulless passable trash to appeal to the most people to maximize profits but will not to be anybody's favorite. It's not nostalgia it's a documented fact in the fields of history, the economy, art, ect and engineering. It's a choice not to create real new culture, the culture of good design doesn't just exist in the past. It's not that people are nostalgic, it's that people are hungry for art and culture, not that processed imitation culture they feed us now. I'm less worried about a purple 90's raptor jersey and more worried why we don't have sick new Orléans purple, green yellow pelican's jerseys will a cool pelican guy or a thunders jersey with thunderbolt camo and a cool hammer or pacers with tire tracks camo print on it, or kings with alts or roman emperors and Japanese emperors or just anything fun and new.

I struggle to buy the out of ideas reasoning. I feel anyone who has spent time in one of those cities could come up with a list of 10 landmarks, events, themes, or vibes that represent their city as the basis. Each of those ideas could be brought to life in many ways as well. For example, if they wanted to use the Indy 500 for inspiration for a Pacers jersey, they could draw inspiration from the flags, track, event colors, lights, racing stripes, car numbering, etc. And if they don’t want to make their interns feel any form of accomplishment, AI could come up with hundreds too.

The jerseys look like the designers didnt know they had had to make new ones until the last minute
Nike/Fanatics have ruined every jersey in the three big leagues. NFL and MLB jerseys are trash compared to what they used to be. Also, Fanatics bought Mitchell & Ness, so you can't even get a high quality throwback anymore.
Leave the jerseys in general to the teams and city editions to the fans. Don’t trust a big corporation like Nike to care enough to make good designs.
I'd be interested to see what the sales have been each year for these - I am guessing that Nike is following the money, so it seems likely that more people are buying these newer ones that we all seem to think are terrible!

How are you going to complain that a lot of teams just reused jersey designs with different colors but then say the Miami vice jerseys were amazing? Idc how good the original concept is/was, stay consistent
I wish they’d do alternates with colors from the teams in their cities. Example: a red and gold Warriors jersey would look so good
Just bring them addidas jerseys back. The representation of those designs brought to the team back then. These designs were like brought up from a random thought damn.
