Yep. I hve to wash my hair often too or I’ll break out. My hairline, forehead, sides of nose, & ears, behind & inside. Then it takes forever for me to correct wit using everything known to man to do so. I knw ur not s’posed to compare locs but ur locs look a lot like mine in my opinion. I just started my loc journey 12/22/23 & Im so xcited. Njoy’d ur video, very helpful.
You're my daughter's hair twin, color and all. I loc'd hers 3 weeks ago and she just did her first wash without a retwist. We'll save it for the next wash before she starts school in August.
I wanted two months to wash mines. It didn’t bother me as much because i didn’t put anything in my hair but water, oil and ofc edge control ( edges only). Loved the video and your color ❤
washing your locs is totally up to your discretion. however if i were in that position i would wash mine every two weeks, while keeping my scalp clean in between washes. you can take a towel with hot/warm water on it and use it to scrub your scalp. follow up with oil or scalp moisturizer
no i didn’t bleach my hair. my hair was previously blonde from crème of nature box dye. yes, what i used is safe for color treated hair. very moisturizing!
I love the color 😍 just starter my journey 2 weeks ago. My hair is shorter so I'ma wait a couple more weeks before I wash cause I'm scared it would unravel. But love the video. How many locs do you have?
Thank you beautiful ❤️ I have 73 locs. If you want you could place a wig cap over your locs or a wig net, that would help prevent unraveling. But definitely no rush to wash your locs, do it on your own time ❤️❤️❤️
How long were your starter locs up before your first wash? I'm asking bc I got starter locs put up a wk ago& am planning on going for a retwist in 3 more weeks.& I already knew before getting them the way my scalp/dandruff is set up that I may be one that have to watch every 2wks instead of the once a mth when going to let the loctician do it. I'm paranoid about unraveling but I can already tell how my scalp is feeling I may have to do like you done & wash it next week. Which will be 2wks after I got my 2strand twist done
mine were up for two weeks before i washed them. don’t be scared about unraveling, it’s 100% normal since your locs are not yet mature. if you must wash them, use a net cap or a wig cap. that will help prevent unraveling while also washing your locs
@@AilidyasTresses where do you think I can get one of those nets from with the holes in it? Maybe the hairstore? I'm gonna go ahead & wash my hair today I was think abt not using a net but I think I'm gonna go ahead & use one
Since I don’t have straight hair I’m not sure, but honestly if you feel like you need to wash your locs then wash them! Use a hair net to be safe, so none come unraveled 🫶🏾
Yeah but you want your hair to tangle, so conditioner is actually a good idea. Washing it more often than once a week after 6 months helps with locking the hair too
Same reason that they're crinkled if you take them down for a twist out. They're kind of linked together by the curl that was set. Unraveling could happen at the ends if they're different lengths and weren't fully set. Basically the tighter the twist from top to end the less likely you are to have unraveling.

I’ve had my started locs for about 3 weeks. I’m active at the gym and my job is hot so my head sweats a lot. How often would you recommend washing?

Got my retwist today… Loc Nation 😊
I noticed your hair is colored did you bleach your hair for that color and is the soap your using good for color/bleached hair?
no i didn’t bleach my hair. my hair was previously blonde from crème of nature box dye. yes, what i used is safe for color treated hair. very moisturizing!

Thanks for your help
No problem 🫶🏾
How long you recommend waitin to wash your hair for people with straight hair

Beautiful color!!! 😍 how many Locs do you have?
Thank you 🫶🏾 I have 73 :)
I would recommend not conditioning your hair… it’ll tangle faster
Thanks for the tip, but since my hair is colored I have to condition and deep condition it to keep it healthy 😇

It will be two weeks for saturday ✨💕
for me lol
that’s wonderful!! i hope you enjoy your journey 💘
I have color in my starter locs too do you deep condition every week
i deep conditioned every two weeks
Beautiful back I must add ❤😅
so all you use to wash your hair is shampoo no extra stuff needed ?
I shampooed & conditioned my hair. After I was done washing I used a leave in conditioner & some oil
Just made 2 weeks
congratulations 🫶🏾🫶🏾
How did they not unravel ?
I’m really not sure, I guess I just got lucky lol. I was gentle while washing my locs, so maybe that played a part in it
