If you want a super light weight version of windows 10, then this is how you do it. You will get better FPS and the operating system will use less resources due to removing all the bloatware and telemetry from Windows 10. All the tools you will need can be found below.

To late for me Dave I installed it in early Feb it took 5 minutes to install on a 980 pro including reboots, I have seen nothing like it so fast...
Can you strip out all the win 10 junk after it has been installed?
Will an update replace the junk just when you thought you kicked it out?
For architecture the options are 32, 64 & both. What does 'both' mean ?
@@Matlockization both means you can select both architecture in the ISO and then select the architecture in the installation process of windows

Except mine dint show option 7 and I followed everything...
Do not run the toolkit program from a folder containing a space in it`s name otherwise you will not be able to do the step "extract source from mct or custom esd image" or in his video "extract source from custom esd image".
In his video was the option 7, now it is merged with the option 6.
If your folder has a space in it`s name the app will close itself.

Tip, if you need to test your ISO load a Hypervisor like Hyper-V, Virtual Box, or VMware workstation and create a virtual machine on your system to see of you made any mistakes. I keep about 5 different ISO's ready at all times with various different configurations.

If I download an ISO from Microsoft today, would I still need the 20H2 Stack Update? Or is it already included inside the ISO?
Thanks. Just an FYI for anyone having trouble getting the toolkit to start, this worked in my case. Don't put the toolkit in a directory that contains special characters or spaces. I found out the hard way, but it tripped up on spaces, and then it tripped up on the "&" symbol.
EDIT: Couldn't get it to work with the latest windows 10 version. Will try a version before the MSMG release date ig.

Great video, Brian, thanks! What bothers me, though, is this: with each update MS installs a lot of crappy bloatware again, even if you have removed it before. Would that mean I'd have to do this operation again and reinstall from an updated version of Win Lite?

This looks like a great tool for a creating a base iso. But of course a little concerned about the Toolkit Readme Known Issues "- Windows 10 v1903/v1909/v2004/v20H2/v2H1 - Integrating or installing Windows updates after the component removal will restore the removed components and this is due to the recent change in Microsoft update mechanism." It would be really nice to see the workaround (if there is one) when MS release there April Updates. Please make a followup video on what happens when the April Windows Update is installed and how to remediate/prevent the April Update reinstalling all the components (if this is possible?). Thankyou @Britec09 for all your efforts in providing these informative videos
There's no workaround and for this all these videos about "lite versions" are all nonsense. Either you keep reinstalling the OS at every service pack and/or disable updates or it serves no purpose at all since *every single service/program your removed will get reinstalled when you do a cumulative update*
Tried this out, lost my patience and set Home edition up instead. Problem is, I can't get rid of the MSMG toolkit folder that has the files extracted from the Windows 10 .iso file. Deletion prompt keeps on asking for admin privileges over and over. What is even going on? How can I get rid of this?

I'm confused about the servicing stack update. When I googled it, it came up with a January version whereas yours is an older November version both are 2004 and 20H2 and both are for x64. I did this search a day after this video came out, why did you not choose the later edition, thanks Brian!

I made one following this guide (without Windows Updates or Toolkit Packs) I removed nearly all things in the video plus some extras. I was also concerned about disk size space as I have a laptop with integrated HD and memory. The install size was still 24GB. It's defiantly faster but not a space saver....
Won't work for me. My MSMG Toolkit instantly exits upon selecting a source at the beginning, and despite some efforts I have not been able to resolve this.

Bitdefender closed MSMG Toolkit in the end of this windows creation (probably identified the running processes as a malware) Lol. So I had to remove Bitdefender and start all over again!

On v11.4.7 version it crashes when removing components I've chosen to rip out :(
A Lite version of windows 10, just the OS that works fine with moderate hardware specs too.

My windows verison is 22H2 and i can't find it on microsoft update catalog. Is it okay to use 20H2 on the catalog instead?

NIce video... But as you chose the 20h2, and not the 21h1, we cant' create any single os. The tuto is quite dead. There is no "update" in the catalog website for 21h1, so we can't reproduce your steps...
How can i solve that ? Anyone has an idea ?

I believe it is (KB5003240), KB5003173, (KB5003254), and kb5003214.
I put in the search box "21h1 cumulative x64"
Download rufus, when u open it press yes on check for updates online. U will then see an arrow next to choose. Click on it then on download. Now you can select any windows version from 2021 to 2015. It will download from officiial microsoft store. Enjoy!

Hi man! fantastic turorial!! Is there a way to save the OS personalization to be able to create an already personalized iso in a second moment, or for example with a newer version of win 10? I followed your step doing the 20H2 but I realise only now that we are at the 21H1. So I would create an iso with the very last OS version. Thank you so much in advice.
I am using an activated copy of MS Office 2016 and in order to set up the apps is a mess so not sure if doing this might cause all my apps uninstall

Do you no longer have to do the step where you convert the install.esd file in the extracted win10 iso "source" folder to install.wim, prior to doing all the changes in the toolkit?
Weird for me It crashes, I've done everything the same, I have extracted the toolkit and extracted my windows 10 iso to the DVD folder when I run start.cmd and accept, press any key then when I press 1 I get to the next menu but when I press 7 the program just crashes. Edit- Found the solution you cannot have any spaces in the filename you give to the folder where you extract MSMG Toolkit, so MSMG Toolkit - bad MSMGToolkit - good.

Hi, I loved your video, following it and others I found on YT I created a windows "lite" version, of sorts which I've installed in virtual box to mess with it a little more and got to a point where I like it. My question is: What's the best way to pack my virtual box windows 10 machine in a bootable ISO image so that I can take that custom system and install it in other physical machines I have?

Does not work anymore as Windows 10.ISO is now distributed in .ESD and not .WIM and although the tool says it can extract from ESM any attempt to do so will cause it to CTD.

I've created a Win10 lite with only Windows Defender removed and installed onto a virtual machine. However, it always gives error when getting updates from Microsoft. Is this what happens with Windows lite?

Where is the custom Windows .esd image? This tutorial does not tell us how to make one and instead we extract the windows ISO to Toolkits DVD Drive. If I followed Brians directions and type 7 I get the error "Cant find windows setup "Install.esd"??

Is there a list of what each component does or is needed for certain things to function so I don't break something I may need? For example I know that if Cortana is disabled then the start menu search breaks, but that is one of the one ones I really know.
Also it seems like MSMG had his Mega drive shut down and the new one is missing a lot of the pack like Virtual Runtime for windows 10, is there a mirror of these files anywhere?

Whenever I open MSMG, I hit 1 for source, and then hit 7 the whole program disappears, no mater what I do it just instantly closes. have deleted everything reloaded again and the same exact thing.
I used the tool to create the lite edition and after installing, everything seems fine except the search icon or box in the task bar not working, there isn't a search process running in task manager, used different solution but unable to solve this problem, seems like this tool may be creating problems, any help ??
