Watched both these tonight. The first while being fairly shot for shot of the original was decent! I actually didn't mind it! It gave me late 90's slasher vibes with the over the top sexed up dialogue of an early 2000's slasher. The second one? I actually thought this was pretty solid. I also really liked the camp factor once the killer is revealed at the end. I'd definitely watch a third
Since I never loved the original, I had no problem enjoying these 2 films as simple remake and a sequel, they felt like the late 90's/early 2000s mainstream horror fare. I'd even go so far as to rate this sequel a hair better than the 1980 original since it was a little inventive, a lot silly and dumb fun. I loved the security guard bit; just like Boomerang int Suicide Squad.
Wait, so there are 2 remade Terror Train movies? I didn't even know about either of them! I saw the original in theaters when it came out - I was about 12 or 13. At the time I liked it okay - I have grown to like it more over time, even though it was total crap. I am a sucker for 80s slasher flicks. Now I am going to go back to see your review of the first (remake). Tubi loves its trash horror!
This movie seemed like more of what they should have done with the Remake this was a sequel to. Instead of making 2 not good movies maybe it could've been One BETTER movie. But that's not what happened unfortunately. More Bad CGI kills in this one. Plus the Trauma of the past characters in this being exploited IN THE MOVIE and by the Creators of this Movie at the same time. Plus the "TWIST" at the end was just not inspiring. I'll just call this Scream 4 On a Train... that's all I'll say...
