He had a pretty amazing career for a guy who would rather have been a truck driver instead of a boxer. He would win some fights, then get beaten and quit. Someone would talk him back into boxing again, he would win some fights then get beaten and quit again, and it went on over and over for about 15 years.
Just lost to some, local, barely known, retired boxer in an exhibition fight. 6th TKO... I don't think he should be doing this anymore, but get the point - money talks. It's just sad to see him being sent down by some random guys these days... Amazing to watch, flawless at moments, great skills; what he lacked though, was mental strength. The guy would just tore apart in critical moments... No doubt he would've been no 1 at some point, had he been stronger mentally.

I agree that golota was cheated for the Ruiz and bird fights. Golota had all the talent to win it all but mentally came up short. At the time he fought bowe for the first time bowe was a top 5 heavyweight. He dismantled bowe with a great job. Powerful right hand and he was well schooled always finishing up straight right hands with that left hook.

Other story is that he should have been world champion many times. 2 times with Bowe - he was only guy who beat him so hard in that times. Lost of couse weak head. @FIGHTFANNERD3 I agree that he was a good fighter but he hated fighting for the Duvas who I feel cashed in on him and managed his career badly. If he would have gone to Manny Steward he could have done something more in the sport. But gave some great nights. I like Golota!
