HEY HON, I POSTED IN THE COMMENTS BELOW, A LINK TO A COMPLETE VERSION OF QUEEN’S LIVE AID SET. (NOTHING IS CUT OFF.) THE LINK IS FROM: Remastered Memories YT channel. IT’S ALSO REMASTERED IN HD.
NW army Finnish Jaeger battalion here. Saw your thumbnail and decided to check this one out. After all Queen was one of those bands that you pretty much heard it many times a week from radio if you were born in 70's or 80's. Great band, still every now and then i find myself listening these tunes and singing along. Not in public tho. Try singing this in a bus, they'd throw you out on a curb... lol
Probably the best live performance of all time, if Carlsberg made rock concert gigs... Now you need to take some time and enjoy the movie Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). RIP Freddie Mercury (1946-1991).
If you want to, there's a Green Day concert where the entire crowd sings Bohemian Rhapsody from start to finish and there are no people on stage, it's simply the song playing before the actual band comes on. It's electric! Such an amazing experience to watch.
Yes, thats immortality at its best.... look at the sky and see...... the clowds shifting from almost a hand into the blessing of Freddie. But mr rock and roll you look like me at the concert in1986, I was blessed to see him live..... love this
Sure I was there for that one!! absolutely fabulous! and I didn't care much for Green day but my friends invited me as I lived in London and they did not, I could basically take them out after.
Freddie is the greatest front man of all time. An absolutely killer performance. You feel like you saw a full Queen concert. They weren't even advertised, and he had the whole crowd in the palm of his hand. This is how you steal the show.
Freddie performed against DR’s orders for this iconic event. He was having severe throat problems and still made history. Your joy is a infectious to watch 😁 Appreciation from Ireland 😁🍀
It was an amazing event. All the artists who were performing had 20 minutes each. Queen's performance has lasted so far 38 years, with many more, long live the music of Queen
Queen had rehearsed all week for this concert and had 21 minutes down to 2 seconds. They took this seriously and no one else really did. Queen were pros down to the way they did their bows There are many huge stars and many with more awards than Queen, but no one can argue that Freddie always had the audience eating out of their hands. People came out so happy and truly had a great time, what else is there in music, nothing. RIP Freddie you are a true legend and god knows you a never boring.
Fred condensed every song to around 2 mins to fit in as many as possible . He then produced the finest live capture of a crowd ever seen . Remember , this was not a Queen crowd . Awesome for that fact alone .
It wasn’t only Queen who realized they had been sensational. Paul Gambaccini, who was part of the BBC broadcasting team at Live Aid, recalled the awe among other superstar musicians watching backstage. “Everybody realized that Queen was stealing the show,” said Gambaccini. These were the very words Elton John uttered when he rushed into Mercury’s trailer after the set. “You bastards, you stole the show,” joked the charismatic star. “Queen smoked ’em. They just took everybody. They walked away being the greatest band you’d ever seen in your life, and it was unbelievable,” said Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters. “And that’s what made the band so great; that’s why they should be recognized as one of the greatest rock bands of all time, because they could connect with an audience.”
It's worth noting that, remember, this was not a Queen crowd, it was a Live Aid crowd. But during "Radio Ga Ga", they became a Queen crowd. I saw them five times. Best ever.
From what I understand, the response to his call and response at the end of Radio Gaga notably happened among the 72, 000 or os at Wembley but also among the 90,000 or so across the pond in Philadelphia watching it on the big screen. The best 20 minutes of rock and roll EVER!!!!
Freddie did the voice improv thing with the crowd to help warm up his vocal chords to sing in a different tone for the next song. It just turned into a massive thing he did. Which is cool as hell
There is a reason Freddie is referred to as 'The greatest entertainer of all time'. No one has been able to match the sheer energy and passion he bought to the stage.
My Mum and I watched the entirety of “Live Aid”, at home in Belfast. Queen absolutely stole the show as we danced and sang around the kitchen with them. Their performance made us immediately make a second donation to the appeal. This was televised across the world and made a massive impact for the crisis in Ethiopia. So proud to have witnessed this performance live 😊🍀
... man, I am so happy for you! I wish I would have been there, too ... but I was too young at this time. But I heard this concert at the radio an a few years later - I got older - I went to the Freddie Mecury Tribute Concert! Man, that was epic! Even without Freddie on stage ... all the groups, the band and the crowd were very special that day! :)
I was pondering the other day (now aged 51) that 99% of the brilliance of Queen happened in the minority, first twenty years of my life. A remarkable musical achievement for these guys to have compressed so much, from "Seven Seas of Rhye", through to "Show Must Go On", every damn note and lyric crafted, in so little time. Now almost 32 years after the passing of this great craftsman, the material still holds its power. His voice and talent is sorely missed. What else might we have had, both operatic and rock, from him in that lost time?
This is the best freaking reaction I've seen to this, and I'm old enough to remember seeing it live. I was 15. You have taken me back to my youth. I'm mid 50s and will rock till I die. Thank you and ROCK IN PEACE FREDDIE. ❤
I was there, yes I am that old, one of 72,000 at the old Wembley stadium. A very hot, long day. Started at noon in the UK and went till around 10:30pm. The ticket was £25, which in 1985 was really pricey, but £20 was a "donation" to the Ethiopian famine relief - which was the point of the whole concert. I think the next act in the UK after them was David Bowie. It wasn't directly after, as they tended to flipflop between the stage in Philadelphia, who came into the show later than noon UK time and kept going after the UK finished. Some of the acts were pretty poor, in that they didn't get the brief and played new stuff or just messed around for 20 minutes. This clip is making the rounds at the moment, but cuts off the end of Champions, so hopefully people will find the complete one again. Also, have a look at the separate number, done at the end of the whole show to cover while the stagehands were moving equipment for McCartney, called Is This the World We Created, very different with just Freddie and Brian. Years later, looking at video of the concert I noticed how special the Queen set was, in that the press stopped taking pictures of the band and was watching and taking pictures of the audience, many not Queen fans. Shows the power of Freddie and the band to engage an audience. Thanks for the memories, great reaction!
I wasn't there, was over in the U.S., but I and my cousins were able to catch this and few other performances on the broadcast when we were kids. Not being able to see Queen with all 4 of their original members live in person in concert is the one true regret I have in my life, even if they had stopped performing them due to Freddie's illness by the time I was interested in actually going to them. Having had the chance to see the broadcast WHEN it happened is the next best thing that could have happened, and there were a few times when I was younger that I caught partial rebroadcasts of their concerts audio from a radio station or two. Queen is and was the best there ever was and will be in my opinion overall, I mean sure I have a favorite song here and there from other groups and artists, but with Queen, I can listen to every song of theirs all day every day. But this performance always will have a special place above everything thing else Queen in my heart and soul for the rest of my life.
Don't know what i enjoy more, your reactions or Queen at Live Aid. You are great. Forget the movie, enjoy in their timeless music. Freddie is one in a million. Thank you 😊
I’ve watched many people react to this video but you are the best reaction I’ve seen you were really enjoying it x I remember being out shopping and people stopped what they were doing and watch them because a lot of shops had tv’s playing the concert it was amazing
And to think he had a severe throat infection and was advised by his doctor to NOT sing at this concert. Just an amazing, incredible human. ❤ gone way too soon.
Brought me to tears.. I so miss this great talent. Highly appreciate Your appreciation. I'm 66, we had fookin GREAT ASS MUSIC. ... and, we weren't killinng each other.
Love watching your reaction vids. I'm a 71 year old guy from the UK, and I was lucky enough to be at this concert. I was 6 rows back from the stage, standing next to the guy with the girl on his shoulders. I've seen many live bands over the years, including Zeppelin (7 times), but I can honestly say this was the greatest live performance I've ever witnessed. I still get goosebumps watching my 32 year old self rockin out with the rest of the crowd. Keep up the great work mate.
I have a mini breakdown every time I watch what “ they “ do to this primo concert now !! Thank goodness I have the full original video… Why in the world would “ they “ cut out Freddie’s greatest note that he was building up to in this masterpiece 😢 TY for your fabulous reaction ✌🏼🥰
Imagine having lunch across the street from this guy as your neighbour seeing him throwin his hair back n forth loooool unreal that’s what queens all about!!!
If I remember rightly it was David Bowie that had to follow Queen on stage. Apocryphally Bowie said to Freddie "You bastard! How am I supposed to follow that?!"
This is the high water mark by which all other live performances are measured. Occasionally come close to in the rarest of circumstances (Nightwish at Wacken 2013 for example) but never, ever bettered. "We are the Champions" for me is the greatest song of all time. Compositionally brilliant (the switch from Cm to Eb major as the lyrics get more positive in the build up to the chorus is simple but absolute genius), lyrically powerful, and it's ability to bring thousands of people together as one is unmatched. And this was it's best performance of it because, as others have pointed out, this was not a Queen audience. And yet you could hear so many of them singing along. An immortal monument to the greatest frontman of all time.
Yours is the best reaction I have ever seen to Queen in this concert. It's great to see someone of the younger generation react to the music of my generation( yes, I am an old bastard, in my 70s now!).
I was there brother. 👍🙏😎 Awesome day start to finish. this was one of the highlights. Too many to mention but Quo opening the show and Elton John was amazing too. Anyhoo keep rocking big fella. Respect from Scotland brother 🤜🤛
It was band aid live concert to raise money for Africa Freddie came on and performed like that even though he was just getting over a bad throat infection he's a legend
I'm not sure where this copy came from, but the one from the Queen official chanel isn't cropped. I hate missing those last few seconds. They're important to the feel of the end of this concert.
@@trishc3099 I think that if new reactors come onto the Queen scene, we should prewarn them to go to the official Queen channel for the Liveaid. Some get lucky, but they are fewer now just because this wretched copy has been uploaded.
@@Jackflip1996 I've noticed that too. A lot of these are also posted under the name of someone called Chief Mouse. Those are the ones that are getting blocked and cropped.
They did not go over the alloted time. There was a 'traffic light' system on the stage to tell performers how much time they had. You can see the lights on the stage behind Freddie at the end of the set - they go red as Freddie gives the signal to close We are the Champions. Queen's timing was spot on.
They did NOT go over! That was a major part of their perfection . . . great set list and audience participation and mix of music and all done within time constraints.
It’s said that Freddy had a clock and knew exactly how much time every single part took. He knew how much time he had for goofing around and he was within seconds of the time allowed to Queen. Can you imagine how the singer that followed this felt? 🇨🇦
It wasn't just Freddie. Queen rehearsed for ages to hone the perfect set. Their head roadie Ratty (Peter Hince) filled the rehearsal room with clocks so they could constantly see the timing.
If you have watched the movie by now, you will know Freddie had just told the band he had AIDS. He also had laryngitis the week before the concert. I was fortunate enough to have been at live aid and had seen queen on concert 1982. UNBELIEVABLE! And you are quite right......there will never be another Freddie Mercury. And at the age of 65, I still rock to Queen and all the other outstanding artist of the time. Now I have grandchildren who visit and ask me to play Queen as loud as possible 😂
I just found you here on YT and man I love you! You're nothing less than awesome! I've been a Queen fan for 40 years and have seen so fuckin many reactions but you???? You make me want to sing and dance along with you!! You make me smile so hard! Thank you for making me happy! *Forever Freddie*
In Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Bryan May changed guitar twice during it. He started on acoustic, swapped to one electric for the middle break and yet another for the outro.
The world was a better place with Freddie in it!! We miss him!! The set-list was brilliant - First song is Bohemian Rhapsody .. Why not? Mega Queen hit! Radio Ga Ga .. Huge crowd participation song! Hammer To Fall .. Getting radio play at that time! Crazy Little Thing Called Love .. Elvis tribute & crowd sees Freddie play the guitar. We Will Rock You & We Are The Champions .. The one-two punch 💥🥊 knock-out!! Later that evening, Freddie & Brian sing Is This The World We Created .. Not written for Live Aid but seems to fit this historic moment!
Mr. Rock, in the 70's I only listen to Zeppelin, AC/DC, Bad Co., Black Sabbath, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden. Totally in Heavy Metal!!! But when I heard Queen and Freddie on the radio back in 1976 I was flipped. I didn't believe my ears when heard that incredible voice came out my radio. After that I become Queen Hardcore fan. I am now 61 years young, I have a great life and so blessed to attended 46 live concerts in my life of all the great rock bands. After all these years, Queen is the best band, period!!!! Bohemian Rhapsody is humanity anthem :)
..I Really Loved Your Reaction To This Timeless Classic Video... You Had Me Gigglin My Lil Head Off 😁 Throughout The Whole 21 Minutes...As You Reminded Me Of Myself When I First Saw It Many Years Ago... "Queen Are Phenomenal " And "Freddie Mercury " Is The Legend Of Legends"....A Once In A Century Talent Of A Genius Man " In A World That's Fallen On Such Scary Times THANKYOU For Bringing A Lil Joy Into My Evening... Yeah that was cool as fuck too🤘
The 2 most iconic live performances in rock history, The Beatles rooftop session & Queen at Live Aid.
A reporter asked Freddie one time what’s your favorite instrument to play? He responded by saying “the audience darling.” What a legend RIP
Love this quote 😊
That's awsome
And I was there.... I danced and sang my heart out for 10 hours... One of the most amazing experiences of my life!!
So envious! One of the moments I wish I was born early! You have a well-treasured experience of a lifetime. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'm a 74 year woman who has been a life long Queen fan. Love your reaction, so genuine. (From UK)
Did you go to any concerts and meet them? Everybody says Freddie was shy.
Me too, same age, just like you.

With a throat infection to boot
Of course they were advertised 🤣 Bob Geldof announced them at the press conference and Jim Beach threw a fit!
best live band EVER
Yeah, I did hear Freddie’s tgeoat crack a few times in the live aid concert and heard he wasn’t feeling his best.
You’ve never heard of Live Aid???? There was concerts all over the world and big screens in the big parks. ❤❤️🇬🇧

Their performance made us immediately make a second donation to the appeal. This was televised across the world and made a massive impact for the crisis in Ethiopia.
So proud to have witnessed this performance live 😊🍀
On that day, everybody there became Queen fan for life, even if they came there to hear other people, Queen was just that good.
just love your enthusiasm my friend

great reaction
Freddie may be the God of the stage, but Brian May is a God in his own right. A fantabulous guitarist, but also an astrophysicist!

It’s said that Freddy had a clock and knew exactly how much time every single part took. He knew how much time he had for goofing around and he was within seconds of the time allowed to Queen. Can you imagine how the singer that followed this felt? 🇨🇦
It was Bowie and was just as good,
It wasn't just Freddie. Queen rehearsed for ages to hone the perfect set. Their head roadie Ratty (Peter Hince) filled the rehearsal room with clocks so they could constantly see the timing.
@@decodolly1535 it was amazing, I was so scared my two favourite artists would fail that day and both were the best.
I've watched these many times, but I must say you made this very entertaining.
I was fortunate to be there that roasting hot day and without doubt Queen stole the show !
Best gig of my life

Now thats a REACTION! And Freddie is SO worth it! 👏👏👏
My biggest regret is not seeing Queen live.
Only one Queen in the country that day. God bless him. ❤
You are the Freddie of RUclips🙃
Imagine how hyped you would be this after Status Quo 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
If you have watched the movie by now, you will know Freddie had just told the band he had AIDS. He also had laryngitis the week before the concert.
I was fortunate enough to have been at live aid and had seen queen on concert 1982. UNBELIEVABLE! And you are quite right......there will never be another Freddie Mercury. And at the age of 65, I still rock to Queen and all the other outstanding artist of the time. Now I have grandchildren who visit and ask me to play Queen as loud as possible 😂

Love your energy brother
In Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Bryan May changed guitar twice during it. He started on acoustic, swapped to one electric for the middle break and yet another for the outro.
The great David Bowie was on after Queen at Live Aid. Apparently he passed them back stage and said, You bastards!
Radio Ga Ga is my favourite song and your reaction was priceless. 🤘🏼Rock and Roll 4Eva 🇺🇸🇦🇺♥️💯...
LOVED! Your review on this! Absolutely brilliant!! Definitely best reaction ive seen so far you rocked it!! Thankyou!!❤
I am enjoying your happiness very much ! Thank you!
Great comment ( of course 😄 )
I just quite simply love you! Love from Glasgow, Scotland
Great reaction.subscribed
I love to see ur happiness and excitement listening to one of the Greatest Bands in the world.
I loved watching your very energetic heartfelt reaction. My favorite band of all time!! Love ❤️ Queen
! Love ❤️ Freddie!
