    Thank you for the shoutout!! Very good video. I have the SV07+ where they seem to have fixed most of the issues you mention. It might be better for beginners than the earlier released regular version: e.g. the aux fan is now tied to the part fan no need to search and replace. Also they now included a printable buckle on the thumb drive to attach the ribbon cable vertically so it no longer sags. What they haven't resolved is the skinned, stripped down Cura version, but I am now experimenting with Christian Vick's Klipper Additions and Orca Slicer profiles which add a ton quality improvements and convenience features to both SV07 and SV07+. Anyway, thank you so much for featuring my channel!!

    I bought a new printer a short time ago, and I had a choice of the Sovol SV07 or the Elegoo Neptune 4 / 4 Pro. Even though I own a fairly well upgraded SV01, and now like it, I upgraded it to remove certain issues I couldn't tolerate anymore. Loud Steppers, no ABL, No Magnetic PEI, loud fans. It is now a silent and well calibrated machine. A friend of mine recently purchased an Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro and loved it after owning an Ender 3 for years. So, I bought an Ender 4 Pro. It was also rushed to market, and I've had to tinker with it. My cable has a short that turns off the hot-end fan when it reaches the middle of the bed. I got that band-aided until they send me a new one. The point is, no bed slinger seems to be 100% perfect out of the box. I would venture to say that no 3D printer is going to be as well, but I have high hopes for the future. Of course, it will wear out long before it should even if it is perfect out of the box. LoL

    I do like Sovol and have the sv06 and sv06 plus. I was disappointed when they came out with the sv07 and saw the decisions they made. They should have gone with linear rods or rails. They also should have gone with BTT board like a cb1 or pi etc. They choose makerbase from what I have heard, and they are not the best when it comes to quality. I also had the same issues with grub screw on both my printers. But I knew that coming in as I had seen others complain about it. So I used thread locker and I never had issues after that. Mine were just loose, so I caught it in time. I have both mine running klipper and went with a pad 7 and a rasberry pi on the other with a screen. I am quite happy despite having some issues as sovols customer service has been great and sent me parts with not many questions asked. Keep up the good work.

      Sovol has said they went v slots and pom wheels on purpose to keep the cost down and at a certain point.
      Otherwise the sv07 would be over $400. At that price, it isn't as competitive or compelling at all.
      At 400 to 450... Another 150 or so gets you the Bambu p1p.

    I have had one for about 4 months or so now and (knocking on wood) I haven't had any issues with it. Just normal klipper errors and issues related to speed. I chalk the speed issue up to my learning more everyday about the nuances of 3d printing

    My first 3d printer is the SV06 Plus. I've only had it for 3 weeks and like it for the most part. Waiting on delivery of Sovol's Klipper screen upgrade. I have 2 issues, Z-offset that changes between prints and a bad Z-seem. I've been useing Orca slicer since the start.

    Thorough review as always, and just the right amount of puns! I've long held the belief that printer OEMs cherry pick the units they send to reviewers gratis, which somewhat skews the average user experience. Although I wouldn't say that I'm pleased that you had some minor issues, your experience is very similar to printers that I've purchased. A loose screw here and there which is usually found during the assembly process when I check everything first.

      I just bought my own SV07 (to go along with my SV02, SV03, and SV05). Was a great price on eBay direct from Sovol for $229. I wonder if the Moai would have the chin ripples if the model was turned 180° so that it printed facing the rear of the bed so that the auxilliary cooler would help with that overhang.

    Thank you for your input. I have just recently purchased a used sv07. I am waiting on a new extruder motor. I plan on going through this with a fine tooth comb before I start using it. Luckily I have been a computer programmer and engineer in my previous career. So I do greatly appreciate all your advice. Having said all that and sorry for the length I am new to 3d printing. Do you know of any good resources to critique prints and to analyze them to determine malfunctions?

    I just purchased an sv7 plus the 2 grub screws were missing from the driver gear so it would not even load the filament or extrude it after sourcing two grub screws I finally tinkerd with it enough to get a print that would stick to the bed long enough to finish it came with a bench file and and bracket to support the wiring to the extruder head after 6 attempts using the filament they supplied I finally had a successful print
    The whole part would just come loose from the bed about 3\4 of the way finished

    Wow, what a steal! $250 for this ... amazing. I paid quite a lot more for substantially less printer (Creality Ender 3- S1).
    I guess the turkey neck on the Moai was caused by not being able to run the input shaping calibration.

    Similar extruder issue with SV06. Ended up buying a replacement extruder and cannibalizing to get one working extruder out of the 2. Loose grub screws were a know issue with SV06 too. Apparently they have lnot improved quality control..

  • @stanbrown853
    @stanbrown853 10 месяцев назад

    Hey Bryan, thanks for the 07 review. I have had one since release. (Had pre-ordered the day it was offered) and had the same issue with loose grub screws on the extruder gears. I have also had the small cooling fans fail and have to be replaced, the part cooling fan duct caught a curled print and shattered and the proximity sensor mount broke. Seems very poor materials used in those parts. I haven't tried the accelerometer yet, but will, as so far the prints have proved to be pretty good. I'm not a speed demon however 👿

  • @AlexSwavely
    @AlexSwavely 10 месяцев назад +1

    @9:50 you could instead add this as a gcode macro in klipper... Possibly even including a test to only enable if print speed is over a set threshold. This would save from having to manually post process every gcode yourself.

    I've had many issues with this machine. It could not print at the speed and acceleration it was set to( the speed it was set to a was 300mm/s, not the 500 it claims to be the top speed), the auxiliary fan is very loud, filament gets jammed when loading constantly and the movements are loud regardless of what I change. At least it doesn't have an issue with the screen not working properly like my Neptune 4 Pro.

    I had the same layer shift issue on my SV07+. Turned out to be the acceleration and deceleration settings set too high. Decreasing the acceleration to 5k and deceleration to 3k in the configuration file resolved it. I also had to replace nearly 1/2 the v-slot wheels because they had been damaged when they assembled it at the factory. Luckily I had plenty of spare wheels from my other printer. Overall it is a good printer but not for beginners.

      OK, got it. A few hours ago I started a reprint of the box, but my workaround was to slow it down using the screen. I'm not in a rush for it at the moment, so I dialed it down to 30% speed and it's happily plodding along like an old-school Ender-3. 😁

    Hi Bryan, I finaly pulled the trigger on an X1 Carbon and an AMS, the literature was basic very basic, the quick guide didnt even have instruction on how to connect the AMS.
    The one thing that threw me to start with was where the short pieces of Bowden tube went, are these just spares?
    Learning to use Bambu Studio is proving slightly difficult, are you aware of any upto date instructionals on Bambu Studio?

    This brand reminds me of Anycubic, the way they advertising ... Speed of 500mm/s , recommended 250mm/s, actual 80mm/s! 500mm/s is a joke with this old design machine, recommended 250mm/s but actually true speed is 80mm/s, specially with those old types of rollers they add on into the printer which is used by old printers speed of 50mm/s, you Just pay 80 dollars more , get Creality ender 3 v3 ke with real speed and stable print. I wanted to buy SV07 plus, but after I saw the build quality and old types of slow printer design... I changed my mind.

    I had 1 but sent it back to amazon as it was by far the worst build quality of a printer I've ever owned. admittedly I got it as soon as it was available in the UK so may have been a duff unit but literally almost every screw was loose.
    I'm not knocking sovol as I have a svo1 that works flawlessly but for kipper I went with a cr10se and it's like light and day.

    All I trying to do is get the firmware set up for my Elegoo Neptune 3 Max using a BTT Pad 7. I can't find or work out how to set the firmware up on the printer?
    I've looked up online and on youtube, But no luck. I need to know how to find the right firmware and how to install it on the printer!
    Since Elegoo sold my version of this printer and me and others brought it, then they a couple of months later without telling us they would do this, they brought out the better Klipper version of it with a high temp hot end and klipper built in, the Neptune 4 Max. But users like me wished to have the klipper and the high hot end but were now stuck with a printer without them.
    I brought the BTT Pad 7 hoping to set up klipper on my 3 max printer and my other 3 different 3D printers too if I can find their firmware's and of course know how to do it?
    Anyone know how a newbie can sort out the klipper set up on the printer I got? Because I can't afford another $470 for the newer version of the Neptune 4 Max,
    Nor got the spare room for another max printer either.
