Can I use an ENVIDIA CARD??
Can you use a eGPU if you dual boot into Windows?
Hello Eevnos
I have a problem. I use a Thunderbolt 3 eGPU and a AMD Radeon RX 580 with MacBook Pro 2012. Wen I start my Laptop every thing works, except vor my GPU. It says that the driver isn't installed wen I go to System Information but the it's connected. I hope you can help me.
Plus wen I start my Laptop there is no Icon for the GPU.
Bro is it compatible for imac mid 2011 ?

You’re welcome!
Will it work on mac os big sur?
2013 2012?
Is it same setting with Mac pro 6.1 ?
Heya dude, nice video. I just wanted to ask you - I have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro 15", and have a mini display port running out - like you have in the video above, and I'm having trouble isolating if it's a thunderbolt out? I've done the whole apple search etc, so - does the port also naturally accept Thunderbolt? Cheers mate.
Yes, the port on those MacBook Pros is a Thunderbolt port. The older Thunderbolt standards used the same connector as a Mini DisplayPort, and they also function as a DP port.
@@DJenerate Thanks so much!
did macbook air work ?
I don't have a MacBook Air, but it should work fine.
Will this work with a Razer Core X with a RX 5700 XT? would it be slower?
I have a Macbook Pro Mid 2012
You're not going to get full speed, but it'll be a LOT faster than the onboard graphics.
Running a Mid 2012 MacBook pro, great vid! Any suggestions on other options for Graphics cards as there seems to be a world wide shortage and price gouging. I'm editing on Premiere Pro and don't see that card on the recommended graphics card list. I've got 16 gb of ram and 2tb ssd on this Mac and Premiere Pro used to run okay in Mac OS High Sierra. After upgrading to Catalina many users have reported stability issues in Adobe Premiere Pro. Anybody have any recommendations on other options for graphics cards?
anyone now if photoshop can be forced to use the external card in such a set up?
Would this work for MBA 2011 with TB1??
Ashok Datta It should, I believe that computer supports up to High Sierra and for Purge Wrangler you need at least 10.13.4... so you should be good.
Hello, does the egpu include the graphic card?
no
@@raycert07 okay thanks!
Does it work on a hankitosh ?
Let's look at 2013 2012 MacBook Pro
Mac mini 2012
Card - AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
Just updated to Catalina as that is the minimum OSX that can be run with Navi GPU’s. PROBLEM is...
I press setup eGPU in the purge wrangler terminal script, then I proceed to plug in the sonnet breakaway puck (with AMD Rx 5500 XT graphics card pre installed) my 2012 Mac mini shuts off immediately, showing a black screen “your Mac was shut down because of a problem”
Anyone have any input/idea on what I can do to fix this and set up successfully?
Appreciate anyone help
thanks for the video
Don't tell me that the thunderbolt 3 is just a rebranded USB C cable😑
