Glad you made the comment. I was gonna ask your opinion on adding perlite to Pon. It seems heavy for the alocasia I want to pot up. The roots are pretty fine. Can’t wait to see how these pop for you.
Cheers, mate. I think the basic principles are just have a substrate that has good grain size for the plant's root thickness (larger roots, larger grain size) and make sure it can absorb and hold the right amount of moisture.
G’day Pete, another awesome video! Here is a tip for you…. I have found that soaking my props in water for about an hour or so makes the sphagnum moss easier to remove 🌱💕
Oh thanks, mate. Yeah they're great plants. I haven't had any issues with them browning either compared to other aurea variegated plants. Definitely worth grabbing
Got 15 minutes into this where you're talking about different steps to root a plant before realising I have an Alocasia dragonscale soaking in peroxide that I put there over an hour ago 🙈 thanks for the reminder! Great video and chat as always Pete
Oh my gosh! Didn’t know that adding pearlite to pon was ok. Or that using Lecca in the base of a container, combined with Pon works great for drainage. Super informative video and really enjoy watching Peaches as well!
Those are some beautiful propagations! Just got myself a Burle Marx variegated yesterday. Love some yellow variegation! So pretty! 🤩 I have monstera Aurea as well but haven’t experienced any browning whatsoever. Hope I don’t jinx it! 😂
I agree that I much prefer the yellow variegated to the white since they don’t seem to brown. Might be why I prefer the thai con to the albo. How do you find the rate of propagation failure with the bubbler.
Yes I agree I always try to use the airstone when I'm propagating my cuttings... When I use that method the roots grow fast it's cool to watch
Good! Glad it's not just me :D
Hi Pete and peaches 🍑 and the plants of course lol.
G'day, Joseph!
I have been defeated by my cats yet again, they went on a plant purge and got some munches out 😂
haha

And thanks mate :D

Very underrated plant in the US!
Yeah A. Scalprum!👏💃🥳
Woooooop!
Oh my gosh. I love love love your scalprum. I’ve got some TC babies coming. Can’t wait until they look as beautiful as yours!!!💕
It'll be there in no time I'm sure :D Good luck!
Wow...yours are gorgeous. I just saw some smaller plants of these pop up for sale where I live, so I think I'm convinced now! Thanks Pete!

Hehe glad you got it out :D
@@petevsplants7516 thanks! It's in moss now. Pro tip: don't water your plants "just in case" before you go on holiday. It didn't need it 😂
Feckin’ Alocasia. Ungrateful divas.

Cheers, Michelle. Haha just try these things and see how it goes. :P I'm just winging it man haha
What a wonderful chopping,so many props -so much potential profit.I hope they all do well.Good job mate.
Hopefully you mark the main one with all the roots for yourself as a mother plant.
hehe cheers, Alice!
My cat thought my tote with pon was a litter box too 😂 I couldn't blame her, it seems just like one. Good thing I had more stored in another location.
Haha good one :P
Great tips ! BTW try a scalpel instead of razor blade :)
Good tip!
If you put some water in the reservoir before you pour in the LECA it is much more quiet
lol I hadn't thought of that! Good idea!

Oh nice one! Yeah, they're stunning. The Burle Marx holds it well too I think.
Nice🌱
:D

Hey mate, it's been pretty good to be honest. I haven't tracked failures, but I'd say I've only had 1 or 2 things not work well in it.
I make my own pon and so far so good. Much cheaper! I just looked up "recipes" on youtube!
Good work, mate. I've just tried that as of today for my A. cuprea. I'll see how it goes.
Have you ever tried Kiki paste? I haven’t but I’ve seen s couple videos & they seemed to of had good luck using it.
Yeah, only on one thing and it didn't seem to do anything, though I think the growth point had already died and that was more the issue.
Chopstick helps loosen the moss. P.s.-I hate moss 😜
Hehe I know it's a pain
Hi Peaches 🍑 so nice to see you sweetie.
She's back haha
I have a question,If possible what can you grow outside and what is your yard like to grow outside?Only answer if you want to.
I can probably grow a few things all year round, mainly Monstera deliciosa and similar plants. But mostly, I think winter would kill them.
do u recommend this plant
