Dear Jo, thank you so much for your help with my trouser waistband issue, a couple of months ago. I did exactly what you said - took a deep breath and removed the whole thing and cut a new one, sewed it on etc etc. I really enjoyed the process (watched tv whilst unpicking!), learnt a lot, so thank you very much for your good guidance! I now have a wearable pair of corduroy jeans xx

Thank you for this video, and for showing that fitting trousers can be so much simpler than the way I was doing it up to this point (and so much faster). Could you also give some suggestions on how to sort of widen the crotch horizontally? My hips have sort of an H shape with some space between where the leg of the trousers would start and in most trousers I feel like the legs are set too close together and are always pulling on the inside leg seam. I just have no clue which way to extend the "crotch peak" on the pattern to fix it, because so far my attempts at fixing it made it look much worse...

Well Joanne, I know there are multiple fba videos around but I tried making a tshirt with fba and it was a disaster. I am petite but with a F cup bra translating to C as far as I can work out in a pattern. My high bust is 34 (just measured it) ans full bust is 38. With a tshirt I tend to go for 36 high bust as I don't like it clinging to my body. Can you possibly cover in a session. I would be very grateful x

This is a really helpful video, Jo. Thank you! I tried making a pair of trousers in corduroy thinking it was a simple pattern, but it was actually a jeans pattern. It had the 'Palmer Pletsch' tissue fitting method, which I tried to follow, but your video is much more explanatory and straightforward. I also have the Figure Your Fit booklet, but have been scared to follow the adjustments. I did have to increase the hip measurement on my trousers as well as crotch length and then I found the waistband didn't fit and I still need to do a button hole to finish the trousers! I'm still stuck at that point. I finished everything else. I don't know how to expand the waistband now its all sewn on in corduroy, topstitched etc. I now know why the waistband didn't fit! I've got more fabric and patterns to try to make more trousers, so will take on board all of your points. Thank you very much.

Step away for a while and then unpick the waistband while watching TV or listening to the radio. Cut another one using measurements taken from your trousers plus seam allowance. X

Thank you very much, Jo. I was coming round to thinking that. I will definitely do it now. Actually it can be quite therapeutic to 'start again' with something like this and I really found your comment very helpful. Thank you for taking the time! X

Thank you so much Jo. This is by far the best of your videos so far as far as I’m concerned. This is what I’ve been wanting to actually see and you made it look so easy, bet it’s not though lol. I’d certainly like to know what you do if the upper/top of the thigh is larger than the actual hip measurement. I’ve got to have a go at this. ❤❤❤ 🎉

I look forward to more on fitting as I’ve gotten older and patterns just don’t fit me like they use to, so I stopped sewing until recently and really want to start again. A huge thank you for all your inspiration Jo. 🎉😘❤️

Helpful tutorial. I am trying to understand how the back and front hip points matched after you slashed and spread. Your explanation of squaring up was very helpful. Can you show a full pic of you in your pants? Looking forward to more fitting videos.

Thanks for your question. When I let the front dart completely it stopped the side seam hitching up so the hip lines had more room to meet horizontally. Hope that helps.

How much room do you add for ease in the crotch. I am finding that many pant patterns that i make have the crotch inches down from my crotch.

Hey Joe, I would have liked to have seen you draw it on you pattern instead of doing it off camera. Some may need to know how to do that.
