Wow, I have been avoiding patterns with flying geese. Now I don't have too. I haven't made a quilt ever have been so intimidated to start. Thanks for providing the free pattern with this tutorial. God bless.
Jenn: Like you, I think that trimming away fabric when making Flying Geese triangles is a waste of fabric and money. I so enjoyed watching this video and the great way to avoid wasted fabric making Flying Geese. In the past, I've avoided quilt patterns with triangles because of the excessive fabric waste. Now, I don't have to do that! Thanks so much for pointing this new procedure out, Jenn!!!!
Hello Dori! Yay! I am happy to hear that you found a way to eliminate that waste of fabric. We highly dislike wasting fabric as well. Thank you for watching. - Yajaira
This is a beautiful quilt including the colors! You have very helpful videos and have encouraged me to quilt my own bed quilt and a baby quilt over the last couple years. Thank you! Excellent instructions.❤
Yes! The longer I have sewn quilts the more I appreciate "squaring up". No guess work that way. Also finger pressing and the importance of correct pressing, all those practices make for my quilts coming out great without fiddling. Edit (will be making this kit for my granddaughter.)
Beautiful. I love purple, plus my name is Elizabeth. I have been hoping someone would design a quilt using the fabric. Also just ordered kit since it's also my birthday 🎉
Jennifer, I am just getting back into quilting after a long illness. I want to make a Pink Quilt like this. What fabric line would you suggest? Thanks so much, your directions are so clear, you do such a great job! Thanks for all U do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@ShabbyFabrics Hello Sophie, I ordered it. Hopefully the shipment will not take too long to Belgium. I already long to get started. Am a novice 😕 . Greetings Katia 😘
In step 2, the pattern reads (2) 3 7/8 “ fabric C and a 7 1/4” fabric B square. Is that the way we cut them ? Or do we go up 1/4”, to 4” on fabric C and 7 1/2 on fabric B. I’m confused.
Hi! We are hoping to have more of the Rosy Stars Quilt Kit available later this summer. We will feature it in our E-newsletter as soon as we have more information! -Lindsey
Reading the pattern I downloaded, the pattern shows fabric D (FLH-19897-6) and the border fabric both have the same number, but the picture looks as if it is fabric A, not fabric D. Is it fabric A? Also, how much fabric is needed for the border, it is listed as 78”x21” and when reading the directions, it says to cut (4) 4-1/2 strips LOF. Not sure how much is need for the border? Would you help me with answers to theses questions.
Hi Cindy! The border fabric is the one in the photo (Fabric A). For the border, 78" x 21" is the amount of yardage you're given. You use that yardage to cut 4 pieces measuring 4 1/2 x LOF (length of fabric - 78"). Please let us know if you have any other questions! Thank you for watching! - Sophie
@@ShabbyFabrics I am not understanding your answer in reference to the total yardage of fabric needed for the border. Is this amount of yardage given for fabric A and the border a total of 5/8 yard needed to make this quilt? Or do I need 5/8 yard of fabric A and another 78”x21” (78” LOF) , which would be be an additional 1 1/4” yard of fabric for a total of 2 1/4 yard of fabric A FLH-9894-6 to make this quilt?
@@cindyfranklin1964 - To make the star blocks, you will need 5/8 yard of Fabric A (SKU FLH-19894-6) which is the lilac with the dark purple polka dot background. We used that same fabric for the outer border ( I see the SKU listed on the download is the wrong number which we will correct tomorrow morning when our graphic designers are back in the office). For the outer border, we like to include long continuous pieces of fabric so you don't have to splice the borders. If you want to have continuous borders with no seams, 78" x 21" is recommended. If you don't mind piecing the borders, you would need (7) 4 1/2" x WOF strips. For this purpose, 1 yard would be sufficient. I hope that helps. My apologies for any confusion. I appreciate you watching! Thank you, Jennifer
