The LA Metro cars built by Breda are directly based off the Budd car design used by the Baltimore and Miami Metro cars. Apparently, the original plan was for LA to get the same cars, but by the time they got things going in earnest, Budd had gone out of business. Breda stepped in and built the design.

They have had the 104 Breda Cars Since around 91 or 92 when the 1st Leg of the Line Opened Up in January 93 (Super Bowl Weekend in Pasadena), & they are aging!
