This was to be the center hub of transfer connections for the mass metro subway plan of 1965. Construction did not begin until the early 1970s. Since the south line (now Central Light Rail) was withdrawn from the original plan because Anne Arundel County residents criticized that crime in the area will rise. The station for the 35 years had no connection to another rail service until 2018. The Red Line light rail will served the station with "free-in-station" connection and increase the volume of passenger traffic in the transit center. The upper- and mid-level walkways had no purpose since the south line (notice the south wall at mezzanine level) was eliminated from the plan, but will do so when the Red Line is completed.
Mezzanine levels:
*Upper-level - Patrons connecting to Red Line trains
*Mid-level - Patrons transferring from metro subway to Red Line trains

If funds wasnt an issue, why not expand the service?
Cos funding is an issue. They could have expanded service 20 years ago but have wait too long and now construction is too expensive. $2 billion if they wanted to extend to Morgan State University.
You add-on, rehabbing the existing stations -- which are slowly falling apart -- and needing upgrade technology, subway may never expand unless Baltimore struck oil somewhere.
was the train conductor asking if he was coming on? LOL!
He was asking if the cameraman was getting on the train. I've had that happen to me several times in the past.
These trains seem to use Westinghouse chopper control DC motors.
The Metro is reliable but it's in a state of disorder alot. Both tracks often service both directions so you never are sure which side to board until the train stops. The subway signs indicating the station that you arrive in are like way too small and hard to find.
MTA Metro is nothing like SEPTA's 4 track service and trendy subway poster ads.
Wow
train diver he
needs to go in
She is beautiful. ♥
Yep she sure is
Sam Carter It’s nice she’s still running there. We’re getting an upgrade down here in Miami.
