I wish you luck with that, I can't imagine that I'd be able to do it! I'm in Bendigo at the moment - currently learning French (I'm at an intermediate level) and am thinking of learning Japanese next year, as I'm quite interested in their culture and would love to visit someday, or even live there. I find flashcards are an incredible way to learn vocabulary - I use a program on my computer for convenience, but physical ones are just as good... Would also love to learn Mandarin at some point - maybe later on in life! You mentioned playing chess helps to keep the mind sharp, especially later on in life. Do you play chess?
