  • Ice wasn't always easy to come by. Especially in America during the 1800s. So we wanted to see what drinking was really like back then. Does it stack up?
We'll dive into the oldest known American cocktail, the Sazerac, invented by a pharmacist in the mid-1800s. Then, we'll mix up a Rapia cocktail, traditionally made in a punch bowl, and finally, we'll try a brandy cocktail, a classic from the 1800s. Watch as we discover the flavors and stories behind these vintage drinks, and maybe even find a new favorite! Subscribe for more cocktail adventures!

Use gran marnier instead of the blue curaçao. Blue curaçao tends to be more like aperol whereas gran marnier is literally a brandy curaçao

What is the minimum proof for a whiskey to be considered whiskey?

No, Sazerac was originally made with cognac. Cognac was replaced with rye whiskey due to the decimation of the grape plantation by a certain insect, because cognac is based on grape distillate. This change occurred in the 19th century. So I'll repeat myself, the fact that the original contained rye whiskey is a perfidious lie.

I completely disagree! Honestly wouldn’t keep watching with just the dad, I love the father&son. It’s not just the recipes for me. Plenty of videos I watch and don’t ever intend to make the drink. Here for you TWO! Thanks for the content guys👍🏻
