I have the Oberon 7 with k14 sub, all used around 8-9 times as never get a chance to switch them on and listen. But it’s amazing whenever I do. I may even sell them as don’t get to use them.
I'm considering the same thing. I agree that you will have to demo them in your room with your favourite music and your equipment at typical listening volumes to figure out what you like best. They are all great speakers in this sort of price bracket so it's down to intended use and personal preference. Generally from what I gather the 5040's have more treble and "air" and the and Dali's sound signature is a bit more laid back in that department but more convincing in the lower frequencies. 7's can sound fantastic in a larger room but may be too much for compact spaces unless you like to play really loud. I will also admit that aesthetics plays a role for me as well but in that respect I like the Dali's better with the grilles on and the Q Acoustics better without so no clear winner there for me either. In terms of size the 5's are of course the least obtrusive.

The Dali Oberon 5 proves that size is not everything! Once run in they produce fantastic clear sound across frequency range.
I am also hesitating between Q acoustics 5040 and Oberon 7or 5. How do they compare?

dali oberon 7's need room to breathe they are not set up right in this room. these are great speakers that punch way above their price point.
