    I picked the Dali Epicon 8 this year and I'm blown away by the performance I also heard the Epikores 11 and they are night and day if I had the money they would be sitting in my room now. It would help if you visited Simply Stereo Dave and Lee are so down-to-earth and make purchasing easy.

    Dali. A company that understands the importance of creating realistic tone by combining a ribbon and a soft dome for a tweeter. A shame that very few others do this

    Auto seems to flourish anywhere there are withering winter months when people stay at home because of the weather. I used to have a cable company and sales slacked in the summer when people were engaged in outdoor activities. Sales picked up in the fall when people stayed inside and thought to themselves " My system sounds like crap" and bought some new gear. That phenomenon is likely to reverse in places like Phoenix with 100 days in the summer that exceed 100 f degrees.

    It sounds like introducing the original tech in many ways.... Hybrid tweeter, wood cones, smc etc.... I'm left wondering if the version 2 of everything found in the Kore series is sonically (not technically) that much better than the corresponding Con series given prices seem to have doubled.....🤔

      We would agree that there is a lot of very good gear for hundreds or a few thousands of dollars. At the same time, certain refinements require spending more, but aren’t required for musical enjoyment for everyone.

    WOW, what an affordable new DALI Epikore 9 speaker priced at ONLY $40,000.00, which you could literally by a brand new luxury car for that money....sarcasm
    (these equippment reviewers are completely insane I swear....smh)🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀

    • @TriAmpMyFi
      @TriAmpMyFi Месяц назад

      . Rich people tend to understand money. One way of not blowing it all is to not purchase mega-buck luxury items that depreciate. That's why notable art, gold, antiques & rarities are so popular amongst the rich. Items that usually 'A'ppreciate just by sitting there.
      Having known many, it is rare the rich buy an expensive, brand-new car to drive because they lose 1/3 their value coming off the lot and it essentially becomes disposable thereafter. The rich I knew drove a different car every week because they owned the Cadillac dealership. They figured out it was profitable to sell Porches, not lose money buying Porches.
      Those Dali's have no worth outside of the next sucker that comes along, whom is their "kore" customer base (pun intended). Dali's added value only comes in the form of made-up (trademarked) words. "true masterpiece", " EVO-K™ Hybrid", "SMC™ Gen-2" and "Clarity Cone™ technology" are just offensive words to me that have no value or worth beyond the page.
      It's only the ignorant neo-rich whom won the lottery, inherited or was just picked in the 1st round draft that will overpay for these fine sounding (not even outstanding I'm sure) loudspeakers.

    "More affordable". $18K for stand-mount speakers?

    • @TASmagazine
      @TASmagazine  Месяц назад +1

      @@820stovall We thought it was clear that the relative cost was vis a vis the $60k Epikore 11. If that wasn’t clear, our apologies. Dali has speakers below $1k per pair and we’ll be covering those soon.

    • @820stovall
      @820stovall Месяц назад +1

      @@TASmagazine It's clear from the video, but not the headline. Regardless, Dali charging $18 grand for a bookshelf speaker and acting like this is a new (relative) budget line is insane. What is the justification for charging 20 times the price of their entry-level speakers? What is the return? Can't imagine average middle-to-upper-middle class people saving their hard-earned money to buy something like this. What a waste. People who pay these prices for speakers have money to burn, plain and simple. I can understand saving my heard-earned money to pay $200,000 for a Porsche because it represents a tremendous degree of performance improvement over, say, a $30,000 Subaru. It's a very measurable and empirical difference. And that's at less than a 10-times multiple. What kind of improvement do you get for a 20-multiple speaker? How long until people start figuring out this high-end audio market is 90-percent flash and very little relative substance? Or do they care? Would be interested to see you address this issue honestly in your review of the $1,000 Dali speakers.

    The word "affordable" has such a wide use in the hifi industry.... 🙄
    Anything over 2000$ isn't affordable by the blueman worker, they're reserved by people with high income.
    Polk R700, Jamo C97-II, Wharfedale evo 4.4, Klipsch R-800F . Those are *affordable* speakers for any bluecolor music lover.

    • @TASmagazine
      @TASmagazine  2 дня назад

      “More affordable”, as we indicate, is relative to the previously introduced $60,000 Epikore model. Adverbs and, as you say, budgets matter.

    At this point, are there any speaker manufacturers who don't already know about eddy currents and hysterisis? This is bare minimum knowledge.
    At Dali, everything old is new again it seems.

    • @andymill8552
      @andymill8552 Месяц назад

      Every manufacturer knows about it, but still almost every manufacturer uses the same old technology. Dali uses this SMC technology already for a decade. So where does your 'At Dali, everything old is new again' remark fit in?

    • @jfbaquero
      @jfbaquero Месяц назад +1

      Every engineer and physic know about hysteresis, but all manufacture just live with it, that's why most speakers have huge distorsion numbers compare to amps, something that is almost never talked about. As far as I know only DALI has solved the issue with SMC, field coil drivers also solve this problem, but the cost is usually of the charts.
