@@razor6056they are still good live, just that their style of live performances and speed has original fans not liking the change of it all and prefer the upbeat, fast songs with no american sounding vocals
Was 4 or 5 years since last time I saw these live videos. They're just gold, I'm thinking of downloading them and save for the rest of my life Hahahaha. What a session of AM. Missing this young style, now they look like my grandpa
Yes, but I know what he's feeling there. The constant halting chord changes creates a sort of turbulent atmosphere that is reminiscent of some mathrock acts
Because its easier to sing that way, you can concentrate more on the singing than remembering the strumming pattern. This song was written quite early so they probably made it that way to make it easier for themselves.
@bonfirejovi well , on drums this song is pretty hard cause its so damn fast....and if you know that the drummer of this band just started drumming cause it was the only instrument left , its damn awesome o.o
@undershock94 I used to agree with you but every now and then you see videos where he's giving it loads. The Fake Tales of San Francisco live video he's enjoying himself anyway.
Matter of preference. I prefer the Strokes better even if I like AM too. The Strokes were a huge influence to AM anyway and both bands respect each other so there's no need to go around comparing and stuff
well if this was after favourite worst night mare dazziola how come they aint played any of there new songs on any of the videos of this gig on youtube??
What a beast of a drummer
Agile Beast :)
This song is easier than it seems but yeah, he is a great drummer

@@luiseduardocortesmoreno3567 sure bro
Jamie doing backing vocals... Rare sight.
He used to do that all the time before 2010
I thought he stopped after Nick joined the band?
Nope. It was after Humbug was released.
really? then find me a video from fwn era where jamie sings.
i'm pretty sure he stopped before FWN era
Man I remember watching this on my dad's laptop when I was 13... 28 now, and the song still hits the same way.
I watched this on mtv when I was that age too and it changed the entire trajectory of my life and I still love this song soooo much i play it often still 🔥🔥🔥
I love how Alex just randomly stands on one leg. I've seen him do it several times. What a brilliant boy though.
i'll never, ever get tired of this song
are you finally tired of this song? I need an update
2:51 best chorus ever
BEar that in mIND

So much 90' punk/hardcore riffs going on here! So cool
big D no it’s not
anyone noticed how good matt's vocals are since then? they were fine at this time but now they're a great supplement to alex's vocals
hello from the future
@@ullisses7667lol lit
In this especific moment you hear more the voice of Jamie than Matt's
So easy to make a drumming error in this song because it's so fast but Matt did it flawless!
Amazing song! Pure raw energy. This one + Fake Tales are great for running.
Even faster than the original? Holy hell
Everything they live is way faster .
@@deppresedonion6320 not anymore

I went to school with these legends
What were they like?
luckiest man alive
The rhythm is off the scale. Superb song.
Fantastic... Brilliant.. there are few words that can describe this band I've ran out of superlatives...
I wonder why Jamie doesn't do backing vocals anymore. :(
i wonder the same thing...jamie should do vocals again
It's because he can't sing at all
Its cuz he has voice crack syndrome
He damaged his voice, I guess?
All 240 pixels of this is class
love the recovery at the begining of the first verse

0:00-3:24 is awesome
the 2:10 - 2:22 bit between alex & jamie is AMAZING.
Fantastic number!
Nostalgia✌🏻️
they both are amazing.
What a shame is not a high definition video.
davcap88 the low quality makes it more legendary imo
It was 2006 lol

Matt Helder is a fucking legend. Best drummer of the decade.

amazing band !
superb guitar skill

Jamie should go back doing backing vocals in their upcoming album, that would be great. :)
Honestly one of the most influential videos on yt sup 202X
Great Video! Specially for all those who say Jamie doesn't do anything!
Hello from the future
Frikkin amazing drumming skills
HEY GUYS ! just look at jamie's hand during the first chorus THATS WHAT I CALL TALENT.
This is on the edge of math rock !
Isn't that defined by odd time signatures?
Yes, but I know what he's feeling there. The constant halting chord changes creates a sort of turbulent atmosphere that is reminiscent of some mathrock acts
@@ericlayton8888 Time signature on the whole album is 4/4.
the intro reminds me of "Take a stand" by Youth of Today
Dam bro I was 15 years old I remember this, time flys
Anyone know what guitar Jamie's playin with? Telecaster ?
yeah
Yeah, 1962 reissue telecaster
Matt is playing bass and Andy is playing drums, and they both are really good!
Eh?!
GO MATT!! this is the only band that deserves the like of him - yup, hes that good.
ACE!
Top of the mountain!
What the hell?? That's a Rickenbacker bass??
Certainly never seen that model before, lol.
I know what u mean by not seeming that model but I just thought u meant u didn't know there were such things about rickenbacker basses sorry dude 😂
+Apollo the band Naaahhh man, I fucking love those things. I have a Music Man Stingray, but I'd still love at least one Rick in my life x)

Fucking LOVE this Song!!!!
Does anyone know how to do your eat pedals distortion so it sounds like Alex's?
Watching the same now in 2013 :D
@oldmanpinkerton yeah youre right, but the fact that they were first than AM dosent mean that they are better ;) but its just my opinion!
... they're better than the Kooks

They are not trying to be cool
They are naturaly cool
and in interviews they are usually all humble and shyish ( well matt isnt shy)
