Yeah, I got a haircut. I've done the long hair thing before but that time around was just for the fact that it would be warmer during the obscenely cold winter we just had here. So hopefully that answers your questions before you comment with them. Diddy Kong Racing was one of my all time childhood favorites, the music was catchy, the ability to race in different vehicles, everything about this game was awesome. It was really great and brought me back to do the music from it for this week.
This has probably got to be one of the most difficult ones I've ever done though. I spent hours upon hours working on the Boss Theme riffs and for the life of me I couldn't get them clean. Not to mention I've had a really really bad week. So I did my best and I'm sure your going to call me out on 'em anyways. I brought back the bottle slide and the wah pedal for this one too so I hope you like how I incorporated those. I wish I had more time, I was still working on this at 1 in the morning, 4 hours before uploading. But at least I got it done. :)

This was a game that could be played by anyone, at any skill level...
Yet, only the pros could ever beat both storymodes, normal and mirror modes. Trust me when I say getting ALL of those silver coins are brutal in Mirror Mode. There have been times where I wanted to beat my TV with the N64 controller after how ridiculously hard they got in Mirror Mode. Windmill Plains is a prime example of that.
It was bad enough in regular mode. I never knew each character had different stats - I rocked in hovercraft but couldn't drive the car because I always played Krunch. So car coin challenges were rough

@OMGerBer I'm glad you liked it dude! I also had a really bad week and this cover was not really happening, a lot of things went wrong towards the end. I actually didn't get to see it until it was already up on RUclips! Pirate Lagoon is my favorite theme from the game but Wizpig had to take last since it's one of the greatest final boss theme's ever.

the transition from Pirate Lagoon to WizPig was great. the visual went from a pleasant peaceful moment relaxing on the beach at sunset to an intense thunderstorm
Back in the N64 days, Nintendo and Rare created some of the greatest games ever, and paired them with some of the greatest soundtracks ever. I'm so glad you're bringing this music back and applying the heavy metal genre to it. It's like a dream come true for me. This stuff motivates me to become better at guitar, as well as take me back to my childhood and remember when games used to be, well, fun I guess.
Rock on, my friend. I hope you never stop making these amazing videos.

DUDE! I think this has to be my favorite cover of yours yet. DKR is an incredible game with outstanding music. David Wise can do no wrong. I'm having a terrible week right now, but the beginning of this put me in a good mood. Then as soon as I heard Ancient Lake I got so happy! And Pirate Lagoon has long been my favorite song in the game. The "chorus" as I call it (5:02) just puts a smile on my face every time. And the Boss Theme was badass! Excellent, excellent job on this one! Loved it!

I'd forgotten most of the tracks on this one, but I still occasionally find myself whistling the Wizpig theme fourteen years on from playing the game.

This is just SO AWESOME. This is honestly so good that Nintendo should pay you to make these for remakes.

@tristenj1992 It's not rude, but yes I have put on a few. I haven't had time to exercise everyday anymore with work, homelife, and these covers. Hopefully when I make shorter videos I can get back into a better exercise habit. :)

In my time travel series, a character from 2008 is on a massive Jetstar Spaceliner to Mars, when a short bumper jingles between two videos on a children’s educational playlist which he recognizes as a simple acoustic version of Diddy Kong Racing’s theme song. A seasoned time traveller accompanying him explains that music from his childhood video games had hit the public domain over a century ago, further pointing that by this year, this song had become Youth Spacefaring Edutainment’s jingle for its nearly 40 years of existence.
I'm just back almost 10 years later to listen to that epic Wizpig Battle music :)

This is honestly one of my favorite covers. Reminds me of playing this with all my friends in elementary school at the daycare.
The whole thing was awesome but I could've listened to a 7 minute version of your rendition of the boss theme and been ecstatic (feel free to make that happen, by the way). I completely agree, I played the crap out of this game when I was a kid (and I come back to it every now and then). This was an awesome racing game. Don't get me wrong I liked Mario Kart and all, but every level having an epic soundtrack, and the voice acting of the genie (so funny) made this game for me.
Awseom job on that one. Diggin the New hair cut. Wish i could make my Fender Squire Strat move as fluid sounding as your guitars do.
