Glad to see you doing well Mr Scully. I met you years ago in dc or md when I was an amateur. You were very cordial and respectful. Disagree with you about jack johnson but your still the man…the ice man
@@brianhamn1681 that must have been in 1999 or 2000 when Mike Oliver fought Carney Bowman on an amateur show in B-More. As far as Johnson, if you watch his fights, he did NOT have to fight athletic, big, skilled men with strong jabs who knew how to work inside, who knew how to work a fighter along the ropes. etc etc etc. The difference in competitions levels was HUGE!!

Great podcast I have always thought the same thing about Ray Robinson Scully is the first person I heard publicly say it
Ray Robinson was great but he could trip and fall on his head and guys would say NOBODY did that better lol

Sort of astonishing how many talented prospects in the amateurs are overlooked because they are not able to find the same success as professionals
Sooooooo many talented guys who never made it as pros or didn't even go pro...BIG talents...Mylon Watkins, Kevin Bryant, Bernard Mayes, Bernard Price, Michael Collins, etc etc

@@hassaanraza1794 Emanuel Steward told me that Bernard was the most talented fighter to come out of Kronk. Olympic champion Jerry Page told me coaches used to bring their boxers ringside to watch him fight when he was 15 years old

John is a great guy I got a story of John I am a nobody meaning not known and John video called me through Facebook messenger by accident and I was shock I played it cool I had send some money I mean Im not rich and I do some what the same thing help my friends down on there luck ...
