The SL is a fabulous car that’s totally underrated.
The SL has become a criminally underappreciated car! Much improved looks with the facelift, fantastic engine and it's a 365 days luxury-GT, while at the same time being a worldclass roadster. And it can be sporty if you want it to be. For me it's unique in it's marketplace. Less full on sportscar than an AMG-GT but more fun to drive than a S-class cabriolet and more usable than both.

in order to avoid future accidents and fatigue during longer driving, research how to optimize the seating position. The ankle of your arms indicates that you are not in full control. The body needs to be closer to the steering wheel. This way, when you accelerate on a rainy day, you can actually feel in your arms what the wheels are doing (you mentioned stiffer steering wheel during Plus mode - high speed, stiffer steering wheel, firm grip and control of the steering wheel). Just because you drive Mercedes, you can't be stupid about these things. Driving safe is professional and a requirement.

Hey @MercBenzKing ! I think about buying this, do you know if this is louder than a 2015 E500 Coupe/Cabriolet? it didn‘t have sport plus .. it came after it in every car. Is it louder the new SL500? How‘s the sound of the S500 Convertible compared to them.. can‘t decide
I actually appreciate the slightly old school but classy interior of the SL; this is more of a touring machine. There is the S for ultimate luxury and the GT for sporty driving.
My 2014 BM M5 is due for changing. Being "dead old" 69 i really like the idea of, comfort, bit of power, convertible, very interested.
The only problem of this amazing car is that by today's MB standards it's technologically obsolete. I had a 350 and sold it one year ago. Miss it, but it was time to move to another model.

The dials are ok, but the freaking cheap plastic material in the center ruins the look. Everything else looks high quality with wood and leather, but there's this ugly thing in the middle.

You might want to adjust the driving position so you can reach the the steering wheel 😉

Can you make a video about the gl500
a marvellous car, better bought second hand (at least in France their resale value just melts away!). Why buy one? Less vulgar than the huge S class cabrio, far more confortable than the AMG GT for the not too young average buyer and the charm of a classic… with the advantages of a new car. This is my fourth SL not the most elegant but the best to live with, by far

For those who said he is a bad driver, it's not that, he is depending on the car to steer, even brake if needed, for some that's bad driving but it's a matter of trusting the car to perform when needed to.

Lovely interior. Too many cars out there are boring colour combinations with most having black leather and a lot with the light aluminium trim.

El auto está hermoso y merece a un conductor adecuado, tú forma de manejo es muy relajada, se nota que conoces el auto, sin embargo tú posición de manejo no es la adecuada (te encuentras con el torso despejado sin disfrutar el conforte del asiento, al igual tus brazos están muy estirados, en un accidente te los podrías romper). Modifica eso y verás como disfrutarás aún más este precioso automóvil.

Cool exterior, but the interior uses alot of the old interior parts Mercedes has abandoned long ago in most of the other expensive cars. I dont really understand why they dont upgrade all their cars with the newer interior.

The 2001 and 2009 model were the best... They ruined the SL after that... Yea it"s a mercedes, it still look good but... Not as much as older version.. I really don't understand what Mercedes is doing... The new classe A and CLS style is very bad... They are reproducing the error they made with the S class in 1994... Sad
It was always underrated because it was known as an old man's car and if you see who drives them around are the older men but for a good car it is yes.
Exterior design is rather uninspiring. The opposite of mean or powerful looking.
Your driving position is not correct, arms shouldn’t be stretched like that.. do the AMG Academy, you’ll learn something and it’s great fun too!
Being a model pitched at the higher end of Mercedes Benz price list, it needs an updated dash board to place it more in line with the rest of the Benz range. FFS even the A class possesses a better interior. Why can’t Mercedes give this an S class dashboard, and the rear light still look terrible and disproportionate. If one really wants one of these, then I would recommend dodging the depreciation and buy any example from 2014 upwards. They all look exactly like the 2019 model.
No AWD yet in 2019 with this power. Makes no sense!

Mercedes really needs to change the keyboard on the center console in some models. It looks outdated!

Unfortunately, this last generation of the SL was a bust... the day that thing was released the front was a unrecognizable glad crap. The headlights were vague and at no point resembled the design language of that generation of MB’s. From the back it looks good but it’s a bad design. S class will always be the S class, the S coupe was attractive but like the last generation, it is way too conservative.

Zainal Azrul That's no excuse. A good driver, a courteous driver, a safe driver, will always signal. It's just a good habit that a good driver should have. My dislike for people who don't use there signal ranks right up there with people who camp out in the passing lane.
Zainal Azrul Thanks. I wasn't trying to pick a fight with you. I drive an SL320 myself (soon to up grade to an sl500, 550, or 55), and driving is a passion of mine. When I hear people talking about "autonomous cars" I want to scream, "We HAVE autonomous cars, it's called a BUS! Take the friggin bus if you don't want to drive and leave the road to me!" lol

Who buys this car? Why does Mercedes Benz STILL manufacture the SL series? It’s design is over a decade old. The black plastic buttons in the center of the dash are terrible looking. Most people I know have spent a bit extra and purchased the S-Class cabriolet. I would never buy this car. I’d rather an E53 cabriolet or a S-Class.
2 years had happened since your comment S-Class has been replaced and E Class price has plummeted.. owning the newest "screen and gimmicks" is a never ending vice.. meanwhile the 2016 SL in on its way to be a future classic.

As a recent owner of an E53 Coupe which we got at the beginning of the year at half its retail.. I can confidently tell you the facelifted r231 (2016-2021) were way more expensive..

يجب عمل عملية تجميل ب الكامل لمؤخرة السيارة التي بات شكلها قبيح جدا ،، يجب استخام مساحه واحده فقط للزجاج الامامي وليس أثنان
