No, wrong. He was definitely exclusively called "Icon of Sin" in Doom 2. The level is called Icon of Sin... The other names you mentioned only appear in the non-canon expansions Plutonia and TNT, and refer to the final bosses of those episodes - not the Icon of Sin. Just similar-looking demons.
For anyone wondering, with doom eternal adding to the lore the icon of sin defeated in doom 2 is a different icon of sin, it was not the son. doom guy killed the first icon of sin, and was later trapped in hell eventually winding up in argent denure whete he became the doom slayer the "betrayer" betrayed the sentinel king doom slayer and his son was revived as the second icon of sin.

If we fight the icon of sin then it should happen like this. You come across it, it's head trapped in a wall with it's exposed brain spawning an endless amount of demons, you pump your rockets into it's exposed brain and all the explosions happen that signaled it's destruction in doom 2, but this time, those explosions free it from the wall and the battle continues, this time with its limbs exposed and usable. You fill in the rest.

I just defeated the Icon of Sin on Doom Eternal today, and I gotta say that the boss battle before it was way more difficult. Sure, the Icon of Sin is more memorable. But fighting the Khan Maykr is more worthy of a Final Boss Battle.
