I’m really lucky that in my hospital there’s no specific uniform for nurses or specific color specially in critical units (ER, ICU, PICU and etc.) while it’s medical uniform that’s enough 😊🙏🏻 when I see the other countries and hospitals uniform I thank god being in my hospital even there’s many negative things but at least not related to uniform otherwise I would definitely not wear such uniform it’s like housekeeping uniforms 🥲💔

You can get into medical school with a BTEC! You need DDD in biomedical applied science and will need to do medicine with a gateway year but it is still possible as some medical schools allow the extended diploma!
Realistically you’ll never be accepted into med school with extended diploma becuse of how fierce competition is. ESPECIALLY these past years or so
They’d be up against A level students who come mostly from good schools and have lots of extra curricular experience including gap years in healthcare.
Wow here in NY her uniform is what housekeepers use. NO DISRESPECT. Back them nurses used to wear skirts and hats and I wear scrub skirts. People find it cute.

English people are leaving the UK to take their profession elsewhere for example Australia appears to be of choice ATM.
Plenty of us. I'm a 1st year student nurse, but its disgraceful how the Government/NHS don't pay us, so we have to get part-time jobs even though we do 24 hours per week of placement, then add on university lectures, the work outside university like lectures and assignments, which leaves us with literally evenings and late into the nights as "free time" to actually sit and study. Pretty shit to be honest.

I believe its necessary. I have seen few msc students with biology degree who had lots of experience in the hospital however, i could be wrong. Best to talk to the universities directly.

@@pratibhakhokhar7717 no it isn't i'm doing nursing right now and its an undergraduate course. The diploma is no longer applicable, its also 4 years if you do nursing with a foundation year or doing a dual nursing course (2 nursing fields).

From the patient perspective: nurses should stick to ward work and stop trying to be academic. Quality of nurse care has fallen because they're not trained by hospitals but by universities with a few Pracs thrown in .
Germany Japan and a host of non English speaking countries which have nursing apprenticeships and diplomas which the UK used to have also are far more superior.
