    ► Introduction ◄
    So now that I've started a streaming series, I've received lots of requests on an aim series too and here we are! An introduction to aim, really trying to understand what it actually is and what it entails because it's more complicated than one might've initially thought. It seems that aim revolves around reading, so actually to improve your aim it's really about improving your reading. You don't need to switch to tablet or anything, you just need to change your understanding of the game slightly. Snappier and more consistent aim is achieved through individual note reading - that in turn will stop you from reacting and will enable you to start reading properly. But it can't be applied 100% of the time, how can you possibly do that for streams? Well then it seems that the application of individual note reading is variable - so just remember that you stil have to apply individual note reading to some degree for everything you ever do! Then you'll get snappier and more consistent aim now that you have more control, patience and focus.

    Can't wait for the EZ video! My personal theory on why EZ helps with snap aim is because EZ often makes shapes lie (example being when a pattern has order swapped or rests in the middle of them). So you're forced to read note to note while still seeing and using the pattern to assist with reading.

    • @teadose665
      @teadose665 3 года назад +1

      It is true that ez can actually make some patterns easier to read as it can make patterns be perceived in another way. But most players don't follow note to note on ez(unless memory gamer), rather they read pattern after pattern.

    • @small7241
      @small7241 3 года назад +2

      My problem is that i have played EZ(DT)(HD)for over 9 months and have gotten decent at reading ez, but i try to translate that aim to maps without EZ but my aim is still iffy and inconsistent.

    • @lazyyfox7914
      @lazyyfox7914 3 года назад +5

      @@small7241 same. I've noticed that going back to nomod I'll straight up mis aim circles that I properly read. Which is the 1% (imo more like 10%) raw aim that can get kind of lax with CS 2. But I usually readjust fairly quickly tighten my aim back up after a few maps.

    The idea that rhythm can be found in other games is really interesting, and it’s one I’ve had since I started playing osu. I think the flow and intuition needed in every game can be broken down into a rhythm the player feels, and it’s only obvious as “rhythm” in osu because the intuition manifests itself in the flow of a song. In other games, CSGO as you said, or even something as far fetched as Minecraft parkour, the “rhythm” is something built by the player the more they play.

    For anyone struggling with the snap aim part of this just be aware that as your ability to play more difficult stuff increases you will find that when you play easier things your aim will be snappier.
    Imagine playing a super slow square. You don’t read it as a square, just really slow 1-2’s essentially. Same thing happens with the squares you struggle with now. When you’re better they will feel like the squares you think are slow now when you are better.
    Basically just get good.

I was so used to flow aiming jumps to the point where one my top plays was a jump map where I was literally drawing circles around triangle jumps and hitting them somehow, after trying to actually hit individual notes I got a way better misscount in most of the maps I play (liike 30 to 12, etc.), so thank you!

    This video confirmed things about aim that i discovered yesterday.
    After knowing approximately how much (n amount) you need to get to x distance in screen(that is, you're no longer a beginner in aim/can aim patterns by feel), what you have to do is to focus on individual notes and _try to consciously trace them with your aim hand the way it feels correct._ Apparently, I wasn't doing the underlined part, which led to no sense of aim control and generally flowy aim. Hopefully if i keep training this way, this way of aiming will become muscle memory for me, so even in my bad days i end up FCing maps

    THANK THE RUclips ALGORITHM FOR GIVING ME THIS! I was having serious mindblock because my aim was suffering from the exact points you made, and after following your advice, my progress is already skyrocketing. I just have to remind myself that progress is a slow slope, thanks for the advice!

    I never did read patterns on any maps except for stream ones and tbh this video surprised even myself lol. Good advice and nice info tho. Well gotta work on my reading then if i wanted to at least be a 5 digit player. Keep up the good work bro!

    I find that reading small squares as square shaped spaced streams works better for me while reading large ones as jumps

    3:31 polling rate is another thing thats important here
    generally speaking the higher the better, but there is a point where changes upwards are getting harder to feel/notice
    there is a way to overclock your polling rate (/"LordOfMice/hidusbf" on github for example) - some drivers (especially for your mouse) might also offer a selection of different polling rates

    i relax my hand. it helps me quite a lot in long maps. saves my stamina and for some reason, it helps me aim better than when i tense up

    i really wish i watched this video when it came out, i pretty much bruteforced my way to 3 digit with 8 star hddt maps without looking at each individual note, and i hope i could get a lot better trying this
