Why do so many players go to schools where they might not play? If it were me I'd rather go to a slightly weaker team where I could get a lot of run. You can't get better when you're sitting on the bench.
It’s because it’s a mix of bad advice, the label of going to a strong ball program, lack of knowledge, and also the thirst to want to go to the league right away (one and done). Exactly, going to a weaker program but with more minutes, stronger role with a coach who wants to develop your game for the pro level is 10x better.
@@josephhollis526 I can understand that but there'd be plenty of games and NCAA Tournament to prove your skills and be seen even on a team that's not as respected as North Carolina.

As a tar heel fan it’s obvious his knee was never ever the same. Easy to say unc was not the place for him but let’s be honest. You would not have played him over a all American, final four most outstanding player and national champion Joel berry either. Maybe roy was a bit old school but you yourself said he played in every game he was ever available to play at North Carolina
The kid made a mistake going to NC when there already was a suspr star point guard. I would've gone to a school where they need a guard a d then shine. Being behind someone and that impact csn ruin your play
Is this was posted over a year ago now but just wanted to let people know Seventh is playing in Ireland for a team called blue daemons and doing really well.😁
Yeah, seriously. People are really blaming UNC for him not developing into an NBA star? They produce the most NBA players of any school, or close to it. He was just a tremendous athlete who really couldn't hack it playing against top competition.
He should have not jumped on a bandwagon team and actually gone to a school that would have given him playing time, instead he wanted to go to a media darling big school and screwed his future not considering the fact that every player on the team is a high ranked athlete.
Injuries are certainly a hinderance and can turn a career around quickly but more than that is are your really playing bc of your unconditional love for any sport (Jordan,Kobe,Lebron,Doncic,Jeter,Trout, Messi,Reinaldo) or are you playing bc there are conditions predicated on family and the people around you 🤷♂️😳 When you work unconditionally, the morning weight room and the 500 shots or 300 baseball swings daily is something you look forward to.When you do things with conditions, those 500 shots,300 swings and miles of running for elite endurance are impossible..
He went to college and got exposed. These mix tapes don’t tell the story about a player’s ability in a full game against commensurate competition. Boys be flailing in the fire.
With Seventh Woods , it was mental definitely. I can relate, Ben Simmons is another example .You can have Lebron James talent but without confidence it’s means nothing.
I was just saying this. Guys like Bennet, Fultz and Ben lost confidence and couldn’t handle the pressure. Not everyone can because they weren’t praised too much like Lebron or Zion (in the beginning). Zion didn’t have this affect him (Moriah situation) because he already was treated like a king so much at the start of his career and high school/college.
A guard who cannot shoot consistently will not see much playing time. He was only a 4* recruit, not a 5* by the time he graduated from high school. From Rivals, the two guys ranked ahead of him were Nick Ward and Matthew Moyer. Moyer ended up at GWashington in his senior year and average 10 ppg. He's not doing buckets now. Ward is in the second division of a Spanish league making around $80k/year. Kyle Guy was after Woods and is in the NBA. De'Riante Jenkins was ranked after Guy and is playing in Sweden for about $60k/year.
High school rankings are all over the place. I do not guys like Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard, Paul George, and Ja Morant were ranked in the top 100 on any recruiting services in high school.
