    I got a 310LX for my first ski and I've never had a bad ride . They do handle extremely well in big swells while crossing the bays and bars . Just get your ecu remapped to get bigger horsepower. Jamie from kspeed will look after you . He is my local dealer and maker of performance parts . Looking forward to seeing more vids of your ultra 250 . Nice work

      Nice! I think the ultra platform is seriously underrated. Maybe not the best hull for drag racing but it’s a beast for any kind of rough water riding. kspeed isn’t that company based out of Australia?

    Awesome video! That looks like the perfect camera ski! Fast enough to keep up with most of your fleet, reliable, comfortable, stable, and won’t be bouncing all over the place in the chop!
    Another interesting side note. I noticed that the engine architecture of these 4 strokes is more similar to those of a two stroke engine. I expected these things to have an engine block so to speak, but it was interesting to see that it had crankcase halves with a unit of cylinders bolted to the crankcase just like the two stroke pwc engines have. It’s so awesome that you were able to just clean up and reassemble that engine replacing only a bare minimum of parts with new ones. Your knowledge and skills definitely allow you to take on a lot of jobs that most people would be too intimidated to take on. I love videos like these! Keep up the great work! Happy new year to you and the family Josh! 😃

      It's possible the similarity to two stroke construction might be a product of kawasaki being a motorcycle manufacturer. I often wonder whether 4 stroke kawasaki engines are really similar to like a zx14 engine or something. Not sure though.

    • @JetSkiBrothers
      @JetSkiBrothers  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! When I was reassembling this engine I wasnt sure if the pistons were supposed to drop into the block like a car engine. Or slip the cylinders on like a 2 stroke jetski engine. So I looked in the manual and it said to slip the cylinder on similar to how it is done on a 2 stroke. I think it could be done either way though (not that it matters). Hope you and yours have a happy new year too!

    Finally a new enigine swap series comming up....Maybe you remember me sending u some info about swapping a ultra motor in a stx hull, this motor would be more fun in a kawasaki stx hull...plus it is super easy to convert it with the parts of the donor ski..lets go!!!!
    You need a 310 ultra anyways!!!! Swap it!!!!!

    It seems like you see more blown up ultras than most other flagship skis. It seems to me that they are as reliable as anything else if you don't run them out of oil. I think as long as you run the right oil for the temperature, you don't really burn any and it wont break down. Really good cruiser ski!

    • @JetSkiBrothers
      @JetSkiBrothers  7 месяцев назад +1

      Exactly and I might add that its a good idea to not store these for extended periods of time with water in the cylinders.

    I was super confused about the build at first ... didn't really click in that you were at your old place, lol... What can I say, I'm sleep deprived. I had to stop in the middle of this to tend to other things... but I'm back.... Right at the heli cam introduction, haha.

    Never heard this analysis of a Kawasaki being a rough water hull vs a course carver before, but I find it really interesting. Wonder if the Vee angle is different, besides chines and stuff.

    • @JetSkiBrothers
      @JetSkiBrothers  7 месяцев назад +1

      If memory serves the ultra uses a dead rise angle that is very helpful in rough water. However that comes with some trade offs.

    10:44 It was interesting to see that you were basically pinned the whole lap except for the turn around pole... I would have thought this ski requured more throttle feness, haha.
    Sometimes thrilling or exciting isn't what you want in a .... ski or car... or person, haha. You just need them to be safe, dependable and predictable. Like an commercial airplane. If it gets exciting, that probably isn't good 🤣
