That’s a great looking HX. First time I’ve seen a Yamaha 1200/135HP in one. My buddy raced a bone stock 97 in the early 2000s. He did fairly well against a bunch of modded WB1s in his class. He bought a highly modded engine swap HX that was kinda a fixer upper in the engine area. It had a 800 engine from one of the Ski-Doo snowmobiles with a huge homemade cone pipe. When the ski ran it was a ripper but it would be mostly a few minute ride then it would keep shutting down but one hell of a ride when it went.
One time we were out in the surf and my SXI broke and I had to ride mandum on my buddies HX. That was fun. Took us several tries to get the start down with 2 of us. 1 on the seat and 1 standing after a running start to keep the balance and momentum going.
