A GP1200 was my 3rd ski, I kept if for 5 years and had so much fun, it was very reliable and fast enough. Thanks for bring back some very good memories.

Great in waves as well I just found it a little unstable at slow speeds I had friends tip it over. A few times

Have been waiting on 66mm piston, ring and gasket set since august and they have turned to ghosts as if it wasn’t hard enough to get ahold of them in the first place.

    I've had a '97 GP1200, '03 GP1200R and more recently a '08 G1300R. I must say the '97 model was my favorite especially in the surf.

That makes sense because the 97 is lighter and has fantastic initial hole shot. Probably really fun in the waves

I still have my 99 GP1200 and I can still run with most of the newer skis. And for less than a $2000 investment.

4:52 How was there a nearly 6 second difference between 98gp1200 red lap times between Josh (43.07) & Jacob (48.89)? Was Jacob towing 2 people on an inner tube?? Lol

You have to wonder. I'm not as good on the sit down but that's a lot of time. Probably was a low tide and ski issues.

I would guess that he spun out once or twice and couldn't be bothered to redo the lap haha

Thanks, we might get the 95 xp out this year but it really depends on how smooth every thing else goes.

What was the difference ? I know the exhaust cone in the 97 was shorter and wider, then 98/99 had the 63m cone
