Hey Dan, that was a real interesting video showing us the difference between the ZTU, ZA, and ZB tractors. I don't know about the Canadians but we in England say "zed" not "zee." Looking forward to the next video comparing the U302 tractors. All the best. Peter 🇬🇧🚜
Thanks for the mention Dan...I enjoy sharing any knowledge i have with your youtube fans and for future generations to come...this RUclips channel is a permanent record and will hopefully help others in the future!
they made a handful of ZT's in 1936, but full production began in 1937. The last year for the JT which was the predecessor of the ZT was also 1937. I have one of each 1937.
Not that you don't have enough to do but you should take a road trip to where the M.M. factories were. Wondering what is there now. It would make an interesting video and you could tell us the history of M.M.
My Grandpa has a ZA and I loved using it. It has a little different feel to it compared to the ZB we own. For running mower and raking hay I like to sit up higher. All in all if it's prairie gold I don't believe I could go wrong. I'm happy to have both.
Nice to see the Z's making today's show. The crud you found in the zb exhaust is really similar to the condition that we found our zb in. Radiator hose left off and exhaust left off so there was plenty of critter junk built up on both sides and contributed to the stuck engine. It sure makes for a lot of work to clean up.
Dan, at one point in another video I heard you say something about not having Tractors with the narrow, or single front ends because of an accident or something about a tractor rolling or flipping over. I was just wondering about these Z’s with the narrow front ends, are you going to change them to wide front ends, or leave them original?

Great video Dan. I enjoyed you going through the differences in the tractors. Your knowledge is vast. Thanks
I may have missed it but the capital ZB was a 12 V negative ground system I believe.

Thanks for clearing that up Joe!

Enjoy your videos with comments. Thanks So Much.
Hey Dan, did you know MM had a set of instructions on how to install the 220 overhead valve engine in the ZA/ZB? we have a ZB like that.
do you have a manual or instruction number for that?
Seen you in Deckerville at the volleyball game.
Next time introduce yourself if you want to. I would love to talk about tractors!

Good advice and mindset

First tractor I drove as a kid was an R then Dad bought a ZB, so we became a two-tractor family. I thought I was really something driving the big ZB.
I could see the starter bounce around when you attempted to start the tractor. How do these manifold crack so bad?
Ztu has 3 5/8 bore 4 1/2 inch stroke 185.8 cubic inch the za and zb are 3 5/8 bore 5 inch stroke 206 cubic inch
Like that ub diesel !

I will leave these as original. I probably won’t let my kids operate them when my wife is home. I’ll explain in a future video.
Is it my volume or yours?
