    This was without question the best season of this new era that started with 32. The cast was so memorable and likable, the challenges were great, the editing was phenomenal and led to so many surprise endings, bringing back the U-Turn and Express Pass was a huge plus and every episode had at least one takeaway. There could have been a tad more drama involved and I didn't love the final outcome (all three finalists were likable, but the winners were the least interesting), but aside from that this is a series highlight. 36 probably won't be as good because we know it will have the same flaws as 34, but I hope we get more of this with 37.

      I agree by a landslide! I love how they incorporated the Express Pass as a risk vs. reward task rather than just giving it to the 1st place team like in previous seasons. You had to work your odds. I LOVED how Steve & Anna even went for the last one despite knowing they were dead last as well as Todd & Ashlie and Greg & John before giving up for Rob & Corey. It was truly a spectacle I will remember forever.

    I love this cast, but it has a problem that so many of the modern seasons have: Many of the teams are so bland and "vanilla". Greg/John are maybe the biggest examples of this. The only time they really showed any personality is when they won.

    • @mrbroadwaydork
      @mrbroadwaydork 9 месяцев назад +2

      I vehemently disagree with this. Greg and John were a team I rooted for super hard, harder than any team I had in at least 15 seasons, because of their caring attitude towards all other teams and their incredible abilities at every single task. Personality does not have to equal being dramatic or super outgoing and I find your description incredibly reductive.

    • @coolnerdlll6053
      @coolnerdlll6053 9 месяцев назад +2

      @mrbroadwaydork They weren't unlikable, but they became the least interesting team left pretty quickly. They were just a generic alpha male team that kept winning legs.

    The order the teams visited the scramble tasks actually did matter. According to exit interviews, Rob/Corey went to the furthest task first but got stuck in rush hour traffic that was cleared up by the time the other two teams went there. This is probably the best season since 29. 31 was good but largely because of the theme and not the race itself.

    • @rushrush1209
      @rushrush1209 9 месяцев назад +2

      True. But the finish ended up being north of Seattle. Rob and Corey had finished the scramble in a slightly more northern part of Seattle. So they should've had a shorter drive to the kayaks. It seems like they may have gotten lost some on the drive to the kayaks.

  • @ericbarter5045
    @ericbarter5045 9 месяцев назад +3

    They clearly had budget cuts too, only visiting 3 countries in the first 6 legs is crazy. The challenges were very underwhelming. A circus challenge in an empty gymnasium in Germany, A matching game in Vietnam right before the pit stop, and a plastic separating recycle challenge in Sweden. Challenges could have been much more about the culture and less of things that could be done anywhere in the world. Also the 90 minute episodes dragged on. And having 13 teams was too much, not enough time to learn about each team. Also, non elimination legs have been a part of the game for so many seasons. The only season non elimination legs didn't work on was 33 cause they had way more legs than teams. I am hoping season 37 fixes these issues and also gives us more teams with personalities. I know this is crazy to say but I wish teams were more stressed and anxious. From what I remember everyone was super chill throughout the whole race. The challenges seemed way too easy to me, we need a new era version of the haybales, telephones, or caviar challenges. Something that pushes the teams, this race seemed a lot more like a scavenger hunt, especially with all the route info's they used to fill up each episode.

    • @coolnerdlll6053
      @coolnerdlll6053 9 месяцев назад +2

      The Route Infos used to be a lot worse. In some of the early seasons, there were no tasks in the final city, just going from location to location.

      The problem is that I find a lot of this show's villains so mean that they cross over into unwatchable. I don't want to see terrible people rewarded with cash prizes and vacations. I know everybody is going to bring up Rob, but for every brilliant move he made, he could also get really nasty and bitter at times. I think the only villain team I actually liked watching was Art & JJ, but even then, I don't know if they count as real villains.

    I’ve seen every season of the race and this was my last straw, I thought almost all the teams were so bland and it felt like they were cast more for their stories or unique experiences rather than for their personalities (kinda like new era survivor). I quit watching like half way through the season cuz I found myself bored to the point it was painful everytime I watched. However, I’ll prbly still give the next season and any future seasons like 2 episodes to see if they can redeem the show.

    • @coolnerdlll6053
      @coolnerdlll6053 9 месяцев назад

      Again, I think 32 gave me a strong stomach for this show. This might not have had classic drama or personalities, but it didn't have any overly mean or annoying people, nobody made alliances, there was very little helping other teams and there weren't many obvious endings of the episodes. Those are the things I find unwatchable about this show. And I find it highly unlikely that you'll be able to fairly judge any future seasons based on the first two episodes. The first two are never anything like the rest.
