Never regretted buying my 1000 for a min!!!!! wonderful controller. got rid of my mcx8000 for it and have not missed my mcx8000 at all. the jog wheels alone sold me!!!!!
Been a diehard Traktor user for years and I'm now seriously considering Rekordbox and the DDJ-1000 to replace my previous set-up. Your video has pretty much turned me over. Great comments, great review.
We won a TAC award at NAMM this gear for best DJ gear of 2019 on the DDJ-1000. 10 + Year Serato Faithful...bought the DDJ 400 to “dip my toe” into Rekordbox...one month later bought the 1000. Actually the day the 800 was announced (wanted to wait to see what was more my speed) and I echo your sentiments 100 percent. This controller is the BEST piece of gear I’ve EVER owned. Period. I got a smokin’ deal on it as well (Thanks Sweetwater!) I haven’t had this much fun DJing in YEARS. Great video man, just subscribed. I enjoy like minded peers. Thanks for your real review of this amazing controller. I too wish I bought it in January of 2018! Cheers and happy mixing.

I am currently using the ddj-sx and looking to upgrade. I have a chance to get a ddj-sz1 with a case or a ddj 1000srt for the same price. Which would you choose?
Love your review. Long time Serato/Vestax controller user here. About a year ago, I wanted to upgrade and took the leap of faith to the DDJ1000. Can't say enough about how much I enjoy this setup. One of the most versatile controllers I've personally used. Rekordbox has been very stable. Never had any issues with sound or freezing. I use it regularly for gigs.
This helps so much, I've just moved across to Rekordbox after 18 odd years on Traktor and got a DDJ 400 to test the system. Was going down the 800 path, though now after this review the 1000 must be it. Really great video that gets to the points. Nice.
Nice video and review. I'm thinking about buying it. How is the performance of DDJ-1000 if you try to connect two Technics SL-1200 on it?. I've seen there are 'phono' inputs. Is good the performance?. Best!
Excellent fun and informative video. Thanks for doing this. I just got the DDJ-1000 based on your video and some other research. I was mulling it over and Amazon suddenly put it on sale for $999 so I pounced. I’ve never used anything like this before-just Virtual DJ on Automix and plain old players and a mixer before that. I have a lot to learn!
Just picked up my DDJ 1000 last week w/ 20% off. I think that was a fair price, yes? I used a Pioneer Wego 3 for 5 years, picked up the DDJ 400 and now the DDJ 1000. This unit will keep me excited for a while. Thanks for your input.
Hi Cleveland Terry, I couldn’t agree more, I’m a long time mobile dj, still got the sx2, used serato for years, but I bought the DJ 1000, around 8 months ago and WOW, different level from the sx2, now fully moved over to RB and use that solely for my wedding/birthday gigs etc, (I do use vdj for karaoke with a dj2go2 controller) I cant bring myself to sell the sx2 yet? Dunno why, nostalgia? perhaps because I used serato for so long, it’s like your favorite old pair of sneakers!, but I never play out with it. Great vlog as always. Keep em coming. From. English DJ in Spain!
@@k9chance250 Hi, yeah i used RB with my SX2, but i do prefer using the software that the controller was designed for, with the exception of VDJ, which works great on everything.
Oh also, sorry to keep commenting, but the positioning of the 3rd microphone on an SX3's front; the reasoning behind it is that it is easier to access if you needed to quickly add a 3rd microphone. Reaching to the back can be tricky and sometimes risky during a gig. Let's say the MC has one mic, and the best man is doing a speech with the other, but you had to quickly make an announcement. You can quickly plug a microphone and do a quick blurb, and easily disconnect it. The front wire sticking out can be remedied with an L cable or an L adapter. I get it's not the most preferred way, but that's why you have channels 3 and 4 for the other ones.
Its 2021 now. Im worried about buying this and then they come up with a new one! or a new XZ with 4 channel capability (for example)... What you guys think?
Great video, I'm waiting for my 1000-SRT to arrive, a couple weeks to go so I'm getting excited watching all the positive reviews for the original 1000. I rocked on Numark's NS7 & NS7II for my mobile gigs and was very happy with them up until recently when my NS7II couldn't be repaired and support has been dropped. So word, looking forward to my 1000-SRT. Thanks for the videos I'll be going thru your channel now for more.
The professor on deck, hello Cleveland✌ Thinking of purchasing the XDJ-XZ because it has a send input where I can connect a DJS-1000. For the sake of saving money, if I purchase the Rekordbox DDJ-1000, will I be able to hook up a DJS-1000 to the unit ?
Brand new to DJing and want an entry level 4 channel DJ mixer. Questions for you! How is the video functionality in Rekordbox? I want to add an element of Video DJ output to my mixes. Second question, If I decided to stick with Serato is the DDJ-1000SRT just as good as this? Thanks and awesome video.
Great, in-depth review as always Terry. I look forward to your videos, sharing your honest prospective. I’ve been using Serato and RB (thumb drive) for many years. RB has come a long way, Pioneer has invested a lot of time/research/money to make it a fully featured DJ software. However, to me the stone cold killer is going to be the Denon Prime 4 controller. I saw and spent time with it at NAMN and it’s amazing. Denon has truly listened to DJ’s and it exceeds expectations. The Prime Engine software is also very Intuitive and has a fantastic work flow. This is the future, Its going to force Pioneer to innovate. In the very near future the Prime 4 will be Serato and Virtual DJ compatible (with a laptop). Once released it will accept, all of the Serato meta data, queue points, folders, etc without external conversion making it very easy to convert.
Hey Cleveland a big thanks for this video. Super useful! I'm planning to upgrade from a DDJ 400 to this controller and have the same question that you have asked "Is the Pioneer DDJ-1000 still worth buying?" Now that its been 2 years since its launch or is it better to wait as a new release might be in the pipeline?
I've had my DDJ-1000 for 3yrs now and I love it my first controller. I also have my turntable's with the Phase controller hooked up to it using Rekordbox
Nice review Cleveland Terry. I have one question for you, i have been using virtual dj on my computer for about 9 years now, never used a DJ controller before. Now my question to you is what do you recommend DDJ 1000 or the DDJ-1000SRT ? So far this is the two of my choice that I am looking at right now. Thanks in advance.
great review terry! would you still move over to Rekordbox if the DDJ 1000 or an equivalent worked with serato? I have a ddj sx2 and an pioneer djm s9 (with vinyl DVS). thinking about trying out rekordbox.
Thanks for the review. You mentioned that pioneer are moving away from serato. What’s your thoughts that they have made a serato version of the same controller.
The 1000srt doesn't support serrato effects on the controller, the jog displays are missing the best features (no waveform, no cue points, no phase meter), the loop controls are harder to use... so, it's kind of a step down from the rekordbox version of the controller.
I'm so interested in getting the ddJ-1000. Just as you mention it provide you with a very close felling to what a CDJ will be but Portable and with a mixer included for a much affordable price tag. So can you tell me how it feel if you want to scratch. I use turntable at home and for the road I normally use a DDJ-sx2. Do you think Pioneer will come with the same model but stand alone? I would love a DDJ-1000 stand alone with spinning platter. It may never happen.
I own a DDJ-RX since 5 years and use it with rekordbox. I am super happy with it, but I tested the DDJ-1000 last Friday and it is sooo nice.. What do you guys think?.. Does it make sense to sell my DDJ-RX and buy a DDJ-1000, or should I better wait for Pioneer to bring out a replacement of the DDJ-1000? It's so hard for me to decide, because the controller's release is already 2 years ago now...
I'm thinking of getting the ddj 1000...im upgrading from a roland dj 202 because the channel one fader won't work unless there is pressure on it and the parts have a silly waiting time to be sent from Japan. Every where iv looked for the ddj 1000 they also on back order. I'm gutted, but It gives me more time to do research on the ddj.... Do you know of any common faults with the ddj 1000?
Thank you for this. I'm considering switching from Serato to Rekordbox due to this controller. It really has everything I want/need in a controller. I've been djing jungle/drum and bass since 96 and was vinyl only until maybe 2005 or 2006. I took some time off from djing from 2010-2020 but now am back and streaming 2-3x week on Twitch while in lockdown. Ive been using a Numark MixDeck Express because it can function without a laptop which had me considering the Denon Prime 4 as an upgrade. However, I'm leaning more towards the DDJ-1000 because, if/when things get back to normal I want to be more familiar with what's in all the clubs these days. Thank you for such an in-depth review. I've already seen enough about the DDJ-1000SRT that it's not even a consideration anymore. Pioneer clearly wants people using Rekordbox.
Thanks for the review ! Do you know if we can use Rekordbox library (with the cues , ...) with Serato ? Just to know if I mix in a club and they are using Serato, do I need to transfer my library again ?
I just upgraded to DDJ 1000 from my SX2 yesterday! I love the thing. I’m still testing out rekordbox. And I don’t have any complaints coming from serato.
I just switched from the RX2 to the DDJ 1000 and haven’t looked back. What a sick controller and loving the 4 channels, DVS capability and jog wheels. Miss the convenience of popping in my USB stick and going but doesn’t outweigh the Pros
Wondering what you are thinking now that the serato counterpart is now released, DDJ-1000 SRT? Have you been able to use it hands on? Would you consider reverting to Serato as a result?
nice talking points terry. i grabbed the ddj1000 the month it came out. i used to be on the traktor side of the fence with my s4mk2. i agree that the jog wheels on the ddj1000 will not make you miss your turntables, but i bought the dvs option just to have it. what is weird with the dvs though is that it does not enable you to emulate the tt stop sound when pressing the start/stop button on the 1200. traktor has a better implementation on this. moving from traktor to rekordbox was a bit of a pain at first as i didnt have rekordbuddy, but it made me trim down my collection (as i had to rebuild it from scratch) to the bare essentials. one year later and i am still enjoying this controller. best jog wheels on the market! i also agree that if you could save up for the 1000, get it instead of the 800. the magvel fader is not on the 800. btw, if you scratch a lot, then do skin your controller, at least for the mixer section. the acrylic top scratches very easily! even if you use the smoothest cloth to wipe it, you will introduce microscratches on it. the crossfader part of my ddj1000 looks bad now because of this. cheers!
Welcome to the DDJ 1000 Club. I agree,it is a great controller. I use both Rekordbox and VDJ with it. I bought it November 2018 but i had issues getting the video to work with Rekordbox, then they assisted me, and it worked like a charm. Have fun🎶🎵🎧
Hi there! This video is coming to me in the right moment! I got some question for u, if you got time I would appreciate your advices. I’m new to DJ. I produce my music, using ableton life and NI controller (NI Komplete Kontrol Mk2). Now I would like to play what I produce and start as DJ. Do you think that DDJ 1000 is too much for a guy who never touched a DJ setup? Do you think I should stay into NI equipment and go for an S4mk3? Or, at last, should I start slow with DDJ400!? Thanks for any advice!
Thanks for that answer! I’ll stick to entry level equipment. The question about NI is more like “does my NI Keyboard could interact with a NI DJ controller and vice versa...”. If not, if Pioneer and recordbox will do the same job... then maybe better to stick with pioneer to get used to the Pioneer DJ ecosystem in case of upgrade... right?
You're very right. Pioneer is beyond done with serato. I'm sure they will crap out some obligatory controllers for it still, but it's obvious with the "club standard" layouts they are using that they want you to feel burdened by using anything which isn't pioneer. I really appreciate the reviews. Screw the haters. It is, definitely, what you do with whatever software you use. Which is why you need the one you like best. Way easier to have fun and play a good dj set if you enjoy what you're doing it on. Some prefer a straightforward experience (serato), some prefer a fair deal of customization (rekordbox), some want to hack the hell out of it (traktor), and some like the most cutting edge features and/or ugly appearances (vdj). I am even looking forward to your rekordbox review, even though I already chose to use that as my primary software, lol.
Good video can’t wait to see the review of Rekordbox. Maybe you should do a video on the comparison of Serato pro to Rekordbox that would be interesting and yes there are videos of that topic already but they are old videos. Thanks for the reviews.✌️
I did the exact same thing and switched a couple weeks ago and love the controller. I am super new to rekordbox still, however I think I have a hang of most things, it's really not that different from serato in my opinion and it's nice to just bring a thumb drive to gigs with CDJ systems. I have a couple questions with the DDJ-1000, have you had any issues with only being able to hear the master playing even when you have your headphones turned all the way to the cue? Even when I have the master cue button turned off and my cue button on for the next track, I can't really hear the next song coming up and I am praying I get the transition right at gigs. Also, do you like the use of rekordbox with your newer macbook? Any issues with touch-bar or USB-C use?
I had the exact same experience as you. Been spinning on turntables for 20 years. Got the Pioneer DDJ SX when it first came out and went digital, but some how wasn't 100 % satisfied with the jog wheels. Got the DDJ 1000 when it first came out. I have been using it for about year and a half and love it, love it, love it!!!! DJ'ing is so much fun again. Honestly my Technic 1200's have a little dust on them since my 1000 came home. Great review and I second your notion of Rekordbox being solid and legit software. It even adds the bonus of exporting tracks to USB sticks and playing on cdj's or another friends laptop running Rekordbox. It's the bomb. Thanks again for the review.
Thanks for the vid! Do you think it is normal and to be expected that the jog wheels on the DDJ1000 eventually make some noise when spinning fast (for example when doing backspins) instead of spinning smoothly? In the beginning, my DDJ1000 jog wheels did not make any noise but now one of them does. I have experienced this with older CDJs as well, and I was wondering if there is anything one could do about it .
I have the Ns7II and been using serato for 10 yrs. I recently bought the DDJ 400 and fell in love with Rekordbox. The 1000 is my next controller hands down....
What are your thoughts on the DDJ RZX? I was going back and forth about a year ago between the RZX and the 1000 and ended up pulling the trigger on the RZX. What did it for me was even though I still need a computer, I never have to look at it anymore. I keep it closed just with Rekordbox running. Completely agree with your thoughts on the Denon Prime 4 which I think is a competitor to the RZX. I did not like the plasticy feel of the Denton. The RZX has some plastic feel as well, but not near as bad as the Denon.
I agree 1000% I bought it having never used Rekordbox, but figured it was dope enough that I'd force myself to learn. Which I did, but there's a lot I still have left to figure out..........the one thing that keeps me from using it more regularly is I can't figure out how to get cues to stick if I put them in a loop. Once I hit tap the cue pad more then once, the loop is removed.....I know there's probably a way to get around it. I just haven't figured it out........GREAT VIDEO though as always.
Superb as usual Terry, I think you might have just convinced me to hang on and go for the DDJ-1000 (after spending almost a year constantly looking at the SX3 Vs DDJ-1000 and now the SR2 Vs DDJ-800). An honest review and solid advice on the main differences and benefits, Thanks!
Great video, this video convinced me to finally upgrade after years on my SX. I think it will be a great asset during my gigs. Many thanks for your perspective!
Thanks for this mate! I'm looking to buy the DDJ-1000 soonish, and your video was really helpful. I'm not pro whatsoever - took a long break from DJing on vinyl and only in the last couple of years got into digital DJing (ebay special DDJ-SB and Mixxx) and looking to upgrade. Going to look into Record Buddy - thanks for that suggestion too!
I really like the look of the DDJ 1000. Like you Cleveland I didn't want to get it because it was RB only. I've been on Serato for some time now and currently use and NS7III and really like it. I want something that weighs less and good features and large jog wheels. After your review I will give the Pioneer unit a closer look. Great informative review.
Kudos! what an excellent review. I was planning on the DDJ-1000 but not Serato compatible stop me. But, still just like you, I fall in love with 1000 and the price is right. The 1000 would be my future controller. Thank you.
Unless you want to use turntables and also play analog vinyl with it. The built - in pre-amps are probably worst on the market for this scenario. As officialy stated by Pioneer: "..the pre-amps are for digital signal / DVS. For analog buy and use external RIAA pre-amps". Really? On a 1000€ controller?
Ive had the DDJ1000 for about a year and a half and its everything ive ever wanted. Coming from 2 cdj 900s and a djm 700...still like serato a little better but its not enough to not get the controller you want! Beautiful controller and performs as well and it looks.
Currently using a DDJ-400, but I really want to start playing with a third deck now. This thing looks absolutely fantastic. Proper jogwheels, all the effects at your fingertips and the possibility to add turntables or CDJs to it is awesome too. I suppose I gotta start saving up now...
I didn't realize you owned the DDJ 1000. When I saw your video about it, you liked it but didn't like the fact it was RB only. I informed you and others that Pioneer future DJ systems will only use RB software. I am glad you like the DDJ 1000 but mostly you like the RB software. I'm looking forward to your review of the software. Thank you for sharing your love for 1000.
Well well well...im a rekordbox guy...switched over 3yrs ago when i got my rz...the sz wasn't out yet and i never looked back. However as we now know they have a serato version 1000 So do you still think pioneer is through with serato?
Nice vid CT.Can you please make a " how to use RB" . I had error problems with my usb stick in the club on the cdj's.That's why i use VDJ/Traktor/Serato in the club with the desired cables and my extern ssd without any problems. When i use the usb stick @ home on my cdj's..i have no problems at all.
THANK YOU! Outstanding review, I think you verbalized much of what we’ve all been thinking for some time now. I’d love to see a review from you on Pioneer’s lighting interface with Rekordbox, the RB-DMX1... pros, cons, etc... thanks again
Cleveland this is the exact same thing I went through and I’m so glad you made this video. I traded my DDJ-SX3 for the DDJ-1000 a few months ago and I have not looked back. The one thing I would add is that the Magvel cross fader is a big improvement over the standard cross fader on the SX3. Especially for scratch DJ’s. The only feature I’m missing in Rekordbox is that the playlist folders are not playable like they are in Serato. I didn’t know it will work with algoriddim djay software as well. I will definitely try it out. Keep the videos coming. Great job…
Hi terry . Can you do a video on what’s needed to get started in DJing if a person is using a controller. what extra is needed ie . external hard drive and cables you must have also extra backup items that is needed .
I just bought the DDJ1000-SRT so it was a little hard to watch @11:13 I know you made this last year but man if you would've waited a little while it could've saved you a few dollars. I'm guessing they gave in and made a Serato version because of the complaints from customers who didn't want to make the transition to RecordBox. Great video and info though and if you did end up getting the SRT how do you like it compared to the 1000?
Thank you for this! Like many out there I'm dying to get my hands on the DDJ-1000. Had waited a bit when I heard rumours of the DDJ-800 but was totally disappointed specifically by the fact that the jogs are smaller and the technology is different. Was going to buy the SX3 but will rather save up and get the DDJ-1000. Don't really care much for the mic inputs and the tech there, but all in all, THIS is my next controller! Nice review!
I’m in the same boat as far as making the switch. I remember when I transitioned from VDJ to SERATO, I fkn HATEDDDDD SERATO 😂😂 Now I LOVE SERATO, and I’m terrified to even try RB.. I’m a Mobile DJ so I’ll prob stick with what I know, but that gear envy is getting to me and I wanna explore my options 👍👍
I'm a current VDJ user. The market I'm in as well as my DJ peers try to peer pressure and shame me into using Serato. As a previous VDJ user, what would you say is better about Serato?
Great video. I have the DDJ-SX2 and really wanted the DDJ-1000 when it came out last year but I have big problem, and that is I'm a Windows user and Rekord Buddy 2 is only available for MAC OS right now. My library with all the cue points, saved loops, etc would all have to be redone if I wanted to get the DDJ-1000. That would take me HOURS.....hell, maybe a solid week to be honest. Just don't really want to do that.
Never regretted buying my 1000 for a min!!!!! wonderful controller. got rid of my mcx8000 for it and have not missed my mcx8000 at all. the jog wheels alone sold me!!!!!
I’m on the fence right now.. Have a MC7000. I’m not wanting to move away from serato.. Wad it hard to do?
@@DJMikeSanders no the transition was easy
I actually like rekordbox better
I still have my small controller Denon mc4000 that uses serato and honestly I hardly use it anymore since I got the 1000
How come everyone prefers bigger jogwheels? i'm considering the traktor s4 mk3
Been a diehard Traktor user for years and I'm now seriously considering Rekordbox and the DDJ-1000 to replace my previous set-up. Your video has pretty much turned me over. Great comments, great review.

Same. Mines in the post :)

We won a TAC award at NAMM this gear for best DJ gear of 2019 on the DDJ-1000. I haven't spoken about this much on my channel but let me share some points some folks including myself haven't spoken about.
It only costs $200 more than the DDJ-RX but with addition of dual USB and full size jogs like the DDJ-RZ
It is $800 less than the DDJ-RZ
It is slightly smaller and lighter than the RZ
It's a cheaper way to get most of the DJM-900 Nexus series mixer in terms of channels and effects
First Pioneer controller to use pressure sensitive jogs (less prone to interference)
First of it's kind jog wheel display that will be appearing on the future Pioneer gear (like the DDJ-800)
Just thought I'd share that because I think it's points that haven't been emphasized enough.

So knowing you can get DDJ-1000 SRT which would you choose. I waited for the SRT and also love it
i just got my DDJ-1000 in yesterday and i love it, better yet, i love Rekordbox. i was nervous about the move from Serato but i am glad i did.
Why???
Man, you waited a year, I’m still waiting 😩. I do love everything about it. I got the DDJSX2
My goal is to get the 1000. I was leaning, but your review got me sold on it. In time I will get this controller. Thanks
Thank you CT! My Denon MC6000 took a dump and I needed to get another 4 channel and your video totally helped, thanks!
The professor on deck, hello Cleveland✌
Thinking of purchasing the XDJ-XZ because it has a send input where I can connect a DJS-1000.
Thanks for this review. I've been eyeing the 1000 for a few weeks now. I am going to be ordering it this week.
Hi mate it’s now been out a very long time but I still think it’s the best option I’m seeing at under £1200 is it still worth buying today .?
How has the transition to from Serato to RB? Do you also use RB DVS with turntables with your S9? How well does it work?
I gotta ask. Is the DDJ 1000 still worth it at this time? Fumbling around with placing an order on sweetwater even though it's still on backorder.
If you don’t absolutely need it right now…wait until namm.
@@ClevelandTerry You know, Sounds like I'm taking a vacation. Thanks man😂🤣✌🏿✌🏿
Still hold true today? Do you think Pioneer is shifting everyone to Recordbox? I wouldn't mind but I love Serato Studio!!!
agreed bro. sucks pioneer is doing this and the srt is shit
I've had my DDJ-1000 for 3yrs now and I love it my first controller. I also have my turntable's with the Phase controller hooked up to it using Rekordbox
I'm going to get my DDJ-1000 in just three weeks from now, as soon as I get some more time to play with it. So excited! Thanks for the review.
That is an excellent question. Last year, no. This year I’m more open to alternative software.
Thanks for the review. You mentioned that pioneer are moving away from serato. What’s your thoughts that they have made a serato version of the same controller.
They have completely 180d. You can expect more serato/rekordbox hardware in the future.
@cheveland terry i got this on a super deal thanks! what you think of the use i have given this guy? mainly house and chill stuff cheers
As usual, great vid. There is a reason you are my go to guy to talk all things software/hardware. You are thorough and honest. Thank you!!
I am also upgrading do you think it a good upgrade for a mobile dj.
Maxime Desmaris you need to use a software called rekordbox buddy. It will transfer all your cuepoints
Miss the convenience of popping in my USB stick and going but doesn’t outweigh the Pros
was on the fence, thanks for the backup on my decision to get the DDJ1000! 4 channels FTW!!!!
Wondering what you are thinking now that the serato counterpart is now released, DDJ-1000 SRT? Have you been able to use it hands on? Would you consider reverting to Serato as a result?
trinjaminternational you can hear my thought here. 😀 ruclips.net/video/zWhElqPm4gk/видео.html
nice talking points terry. i grabbed the ddj1000 the month it came out. i used to be on the traktor side of the fence with my s4mk2. i agree that the jog wheels on the ddj1000 will not make you miss your turntables, but i bought the dvs option just to have it. what is weird with the dvs though is that it does not enable you to emulate the tt stop sound when pressing the start/stop button on the 1200. traktor has a better implementation on this.
moving from traktor to rekordbox was a bit of a pain at first as i didnt have rekordbuddy, but it made me trim down my collection (as i had to rebuild it from scratch) to the bare essentials. one year later and i am still enjoying this controller. best jog wheels on the market! i also agree that if you could save up for the 1000, get it instead of the 800. the magvel fader is not on the 800.
btw, if you scratch a lot, then do skin your controller, at least for the mixer section. the acrylic top scratches very easily! even if you use the smoothest cloth to wipe it, you will introduce microscratches on it. the crossfader part of my ddj1000 looks bad now because of this. cheers!
DJ DLS Helpful tip about the skins. I’m new and didn’t know you could do that. Thanks!
Welcome to the DDJ 1000 Club. I agree,it is a great controller. I use both Rekordbox and VDJ with it. I bought it November 2018 but i had issues getting the video to work with Rekordbox, then they assisted me, and it worked like a charm. Have fun🎶🎵🎧
im torn between buying the ddj 800 or the sx3 could you give me some advice? i dont mind which software
If NI is doing what you need than stay with it until you are sure you want to transition over. DDJ-1000 is very expensive for a newer DJ.
Thanks for that answer! I’ll stick to entry level equipment. The question about NI is more like “does my NI Keyboard could interact with a NI DJ controller and vice versa...”. If not, if Pioneer and recordbox will do the same job... then maybe better to stick with pioneer to get used to the Pioneer DJ ecosystem in case of upgrade... right?
Would you recommend me the DDJ 1000
Have you checked out our new DDJ-1000SRT?
Pri yon Joni Yup, posted a video about it. Exciting times for Serato fans.
Have you tried DVS with the 1000 rekordbox? Is the performance as good as Serato?
I started dj'ing on serato and made a quick move to RB and I love it! I'll probably never go back to serato.
This video helped me a lot! I'm using the sx2 right now but dreaming about the ddj 1000 every night... thanks man
ddj-1000 is super solid. I just miss being able to independently layer 3 fx on each deck. Any idea if this will change in rekordbox anytime soon?
I think i wanna have a little cry, I just hope , that when I'm ready , they are still making the DDJ 1000 ,
loved your review.
They will, it sells A LOT
Have you switched to the SRT, or are you still rocking Rekordbox?
Thanks for the vid! Do you think it is normal and to be expected that the jog wheels on the DDJ1000 eventually make some noise when spinning fast (for example when doing backspins) instead of spinning smoothly? In the beginning, my DDJ1000 jog wheels did not make any noise but now one of them does. I have experienced this with older CDJs as well, and I was wondering if there is anything one could do about it
.
Yeah. Grab a can of Deoxit and the problem goes away.
I have the Ns7II and been using serato for 10 yrs. I recently bought the DDJ 400 and fell in love with Rekordbox. The 1000 is my next controller hands down....
I’m about to buy Serato dj pro should.. Do you recommend buying the record box??? I have a ddj sz2.
Thanks I wish I watched this video before I bought my $2000 sz2 , it looks like recordbox is the future.
What's your thoughts now that the DDJ-1000 Serato Edition has come out?
BenThatOneGuy I did a video here. ruclips.net/video/zWhElqPm4gk/видео.html
I ordered today SRT version .......... I also have DDJ-SZ silver color, and I think is pretty much same thing in a different size.
@1CBRDUDE Yes, You will need to use Serato Video, which is included for free when you buy Controller DDJ-1000SRT. I think is only on first 5000 units.
I'm still debating between the ns7iii and ddj 1000 RB
The NS7 just feels good man
Kudos! what an excellent review. I was planning on the DDJ-1000 but not Serato compatible stop me. But, still just like you, I fall in love with 1000 and the price is right. The 1000 would be my future controller. Thank you.
I Got a ddj-400 right now. Should I buy the ddj-1000 or wait for an upgrade🤔
Buy what you need. But in all honesty, I’d you don’t need anything I’d wait until at least February. January can be a hot release month for DJs.
@@ClevelandTerry That's what I am going to do! Thanks for your reply 👌
I’ve never experienced people say the 1000 is bad. I have once, and it was over the DDJ 400. It is super rare for people hating on the controller.
Great review on the DDJ-1000, keep up the good work 👍
Would this be good for a starter dj? I've never touched a dj controller before in my life too. But would this be ok for my first?
Thanks
No that’s overkill if you just want something to play around with. Maybe start with the sb3 or ddj 400
However as we now know they have a serato version 1000 So do you still think pioneer is through with serato?
dj i CA nik I think it’s a mutually beneficial temporary partnership
Nice vid CT.Can you please make a " how to use RB" . I had error problems with my usb stick in the club on the cdj's.That's why i use VDJ/Traktor/Serato in the club with the desired cables and my extern ssd without any problems. When i use the usb stick @ home on my cdj's..i have no problems at all.
Hi, could you make a video using serato with DDJ-1000? Just for know what can or can not do it with this combination, thanks.
Serato doesn’t work with the DDJ 1000. I mean you could map every button and use it as a glorified midi controller but it wouldn’t be the same.
THANK YOU! Outstanding review, I think you verbalized much of what we’ve all been thinking for some time now. I’d love to see a review from you on Pioneer’s lighting interface with Rekordbox, the RB-DMX1... pros, cons, etc... thanks again
Maybe they’ll make me an ambassador and then I can review everything. :-)
Where do you think this stack up against the SZ2
I went for the ddj 800. I think it’s perfect for bar gigs. I’d like the next iteration of the 1000 being that it’s already been out for 2.5 years
Cleveland this is the exact same thing I went through and I’m so glad you made this video.
Rod Ameche I think I can put that on my videos to do list. 😀
I remember when I transitioned from VDJ to SERATO, I fkn HATEDDDDD SERATO 😂😂
Now I LOVE SERATO, and I’m terrified to even try RB.. I’m a Mobile DJ so I’ll prob stick with what I know, but that gear envy is getting to me and I wanna explore my options 👍👍
I'm a current VDJ user. The market I'm in as well as my DJ peers try to peer pressure and shame me into using Serato. As a previous VDJ user, what would you say is better about Serato?
going from serato to RB is easy mode. they are very similar
Noel literally everything. I saw VDJ as a toy after i switched years ago to the SL1 and CDJs
Does the SX3 not "Hardware Unlock" the Core features of Rekordbox?
Hello Cleve. I have a pair of CDJ900 NX.Would this be a good match up?.Thank you Bro
How do you like the ddj 1000 I am thinking of upgrading to it
I answered that in the video. :-)
Do you think that RB going to have streaming services connection soon?, like serato made it with Tidal.
Yes. It’s already in the works.
@@ClevelandTerry well I took your advice and I bought the DDJ 1000, now I gonna change to Rb
Great review as always. Def a beautiful controller! But only reason for nor getting it yet is that i feel a new NS7 is on its way
Tell me more I'm running a 3 at the moment
Great video. I have the DDJ-SX2 and really wanted the DDJ-1000 when it came out last year but I have big problem, and that is I'm a Windows user and Rekord Buddy 2 is only available for MAC OS right now. My library with all the cue points, saved loops, etc would all have to be redone if I wanted to get the DDJ-1000. That would take me HOURS.....hell, maybe a solid week to be honest. Just don't really want to do that.
