Paws is such a great addition to the Johns family❤️ Also when I was a new born my parents moved to a similar “gut-everything/fixer upper house and although they changed a lot they took all the original wallpaper and cut it into pieces to make a collage and framed it and hung it upstairs. It’s a cute way to remember where it all started and those beginning moments. So happy for y’all ❤️❤️
My grandma literally has that wallpaper in her bathroom and her house is my favorite place on Earth! You should keep it!!
I would definitely keep the wallpaper in that bathroom! It's so sweet/cozy/cottage-y and that will never go out of style in my opinion. Those flowers up top are so sweet.

When ripping out the wallpaper try your hardest to get one huge piece and just frame it and put it in the new bathroom. This is a MASSIVE and very very expensive reno. I do this for a living! Have you gone over all of this with the contractor? Some of it seems super extensive but it’s going to be absolutely GORGEOUS!

That powder room/guest bathroom is so cute as is. You could put a white marble sink with gold fixtures and exposed pluming and paint the trim white! Or you could find a wallpaper that’s similar but a little more up to date to keep the feel of it! Beautiful house with SO much potential! Congrats🤍

Please either make this land a stables or have the barn as a gorgeous wedding venue! You could use the downstairs of your house as a big reception area for people arriving if it's possible to enter easily into it from the outside! Obsessed

Suggestion for your back pasture!
We have a neighbor that plants alfalfa and beans on our field that looks just like that and takes care of everything over there (fallen trees, the fencing..) and sometimes brings his cattle over to let them graze in between seasons. Then at Christmas time he writes us a check for a portion of what he made on the crops he harvested, kinda like paying rent for the land!

Congratulations! Having the barn is great for all the space for the mowers, tractors and other farm equipment you will need for keeping up the land. And course you will need a veggie garden!! I like all the ideas for inside renovations!

In the basement, you should turn the longer space, where you were both standing when you said "we could put a room in the corner over here" and "we don't need it, we have five bedrooms" and make that into your living/playing space, and then block off the wall in that smaller area, leave a doorway, and that could be your guest room. Kristin could still have a little downstairs kitchenette across from the bathroom in the living/playing area, and you could easily utilize the space!

I’m not sure what style you’re envisioning for this house besides being more white and bright, but if you’re going for a slightly country/rustic style keep the wallpaper in the guest bathroom!!! 😍 As Marcus said, once you update fixtures it won’t look as dated!

Those closet systems are the best! I think they are Easy Track and they are super sturdy and adjustable. Make sure you don't get rid of them in your renovations.

This house has so much character! It’s so refreshing from all the very clinical and modern looking houses that I see from LA influencers - (not that there’s anything wrong with that, to each their own) but I love that this one is so unique, cozy and really feels like a home!

I’m so so so excited for you guys! You’re house is going to be absolutely stunning! Vaulted ceiling’s are amazing especially with beams! So glad you’re keeping the fencing and barn bc when your kids grow up, they might want animals if you’re willing to let them have some. Animals create such a learning experience and teach kids how to be responsible. All that fencing and those stalls in the barn are worth quite a bit. I live in the country and it’s been the best thing ever! We’ve got chickens, cats, dogs, and horses, and I rly wanted goats but my parents said no. I would say keep the wallpaper, there’s something cute about it! Maybe just get rid of the flower border, and paint the wood border white. At my house we have a meadow area that comes off of our field and goes into our woods, and im actually turning it into a wildflower meadow! Honestly you guys have the perfect property that if you wanted you could have a wedding venue! The barn, the pond, the field, everything is just perfect! Y’all are so blessed!

Keep that half bath!! We did that in our one bathroom and it’s such a cool thing to have still to this day! And u can always go back and renovate if u get sick of it!
