The first time I heard the original song I felt like I got hit with a ton of bricks. I'm not terribly picky when it comes to lyrics, but the writing on this was the first in years to make me feel truly emotional. The words read like a letter to an anxious loved one; beautifully empathetic, reaffirming, and pure, in the most refreshing way. Not something I hear so much of these days. It got to me; to the point where almost immediately I realized I had to write my own version - not a response exactly, but more of a precursor. Alessia's song is so relatable to me because the second-person perspective described by the singer is one I've been in many times, trying to read the signs.
