I just figured out why I like Michael so much; he is supremely confident without ever being arrogant or insufferable. And he speaks in facts, not BS.
He's seen a lot and learned from it. He became wise and humble. It's hard to dislike this guy.

Michael, there were times when I was tempted to get into the criminal life. Mostly because I was out of work, I couldn't find a job and my family needed to eat and the bills needed to be paid. But there was something that always stopped me from getting in too deep. That was the memory of my father. My father was an honest hard working man. He made his money and kept food on the table either by turning a wrench or driving a herd of cattle, and I mean from horseback. He didn't raise me to be a criminal, neither of my parents did. I can't help but think how it would disappoint my dad and break my mom's heart if I became a criminal. Because of them I stayed on the straight and narrow. Thank the Lord for our parents, right? If I didn't have the parents God has blessed me with, I'd no doubt be rotting in prison or dead.

Mediterranean diet (not American Italian but actual Mediterranean Greek/Italian etc) is pretty much the easiest in the western world for longevity lots of seafood, whole grains and very little processed foods

This was arguably my favorite video from this channel so far! I have a huge love for mafia history, but I’m also Christian. So sometimes it feels odd to be a Christian with a love for such an infamous era of history. The Proverbs reading with the testimonial inspired message really rang with me and I appreciated it a lot. I think he mentioned Sopranos in some past videos, though I never heard anything about Boardwalk Empire which would be great to see.
I really enjoyed boardwalk! Too bad the 5th season was rushed and rothstein was killed off and we never saw how! Seasons 1-4 were phenomenal in my opinion.

@@onepocketslimI dont think he was saying it should be illegal too. He was pointing out Michael's flawed argument that drinking should be legal and drugs shouldn't. Alcohol is by definition a drug. It's chemical you consume to achieve a psychoactive effect. Just because the route of administration is drinking, doesnt make it not a drug. You can put cocaine into a soda, drink it and get high on cocaine. And michael lumping all drugs in together disingenuous at best.
Anything you abuse can kill you. (Just ask Johnny Stompanato!) Alcohol is relatively harmless when taken occasionally, and then by those who have no underlying psychological problems. There are mountains of cases of people becoming addicted to cocaine or heroin after the first use. I’ve dealt first hand with people on drugs AND alcohol in my personal life. It’s not pretty, and they all had underlying issues. I can’t imagine a person with a healthy outlook on life draining a bottle, or snorting coke, or smoking weed, or shooting heroin. (The last of which, due in part to the way it is taken, and often in less-than-hygienic surroundings, was long considered the lowest one could sink before crystal meth became popular.)

Nobody who knows what they're talking about would ever claim LCN did not deal drugs - they have *always* been involved with drugs.
The confusion is due to the fact that at multiple times and at different intensities (usually based on power structures of the era), dealing in drugs was outlawed by La Cosa Nostra...an offense punishable by death. But puttin the moves on another guy's wife was also punishable by death, and plenty of made guys did that too.
BOTTOM LINE = Yes, it was outlawed. No, the rule was never obeyed uniformly. Thus, true stories of mob drug dealing exist.

Dear Michael, my wife and I love your videos and find them inspiring. Unfortunately my wife's condition from cancer has worsened and on Monday she needed to be put into Hospice here at home. I am playing your videos for her now with the hopes that she can hear and understand through the heavy fog of pain medication and steady decline. We have really enjoyed watching your videos together anticipating each new one. I fear I will soon be watching by myself.
