Bus/VCA folder is the one feature that i use in every project. Helps mixes easier, managed and easy to maneuver around.

A seperate mention should be the fact that - as I learned from this video at 6:55 - that you can re-enable the disabled tracks by clicking once and then dragging over the other disabled tracks as opposed to clickind them one by one. I have wasted so many clicks..

HI Greger! Just tried the send effects on a snare hit. rendered it with a 5sec tail and it silenced every track except the bass and drums...Bug?
Nice info. As a long time user I knew about them but it's nice for new users. One I use often is custom keybind (Alt+A) to create an automation lane for the last tweaked parameter.
Nice video, as always, Gregor :) Wish you would show us how to render the event fx and judge the tail length when doing so. And how to then fit the resulting event in with the following event/s? Cheers!
My computer is so underpowered I'm surprised it can even run studio one. The folder idea helps to with performanc. Thanks for the tip.

Is there a way to export multiple tracks, as in 50-100+ tracks of varying lengths so that only the audio is exported? I record quotes and want to have each track be only the length it needs to be. As is I can find no way to do that in Studio One 6.1. They all come out the length on the longest track. When I tried to record on one track each cut came out as its own clip but often I would have 3-5 cuts in one quote...so that's not helpful.
I am able to do this in audacity but like the tools in Studio one. Also audacity has some weird random clicks and ticks as I record where as studio one does not.

Thank you! Yes, there is - The command is called "Collapse all Tracks" and can be assigned to any shortcut of your choice from the Keyboard Shortcuts menu. You can also add it as a button for quick access in the Macro Toolbar. -GBY

It would be a great idea for boosting the workflow if S1 would finally fix the ridiculous mess that user settings are permanently overwritten when it comes to export of mixes and stems. S1 does not store the output folder but permanently overwrites it with the default mixdown folder. It is not possible to overwrite an existing file if the wanted filename already exists and so you have to delete the file manually and choose the wanted output folder each and every time you mix it. THAT is a workflow killer. I don't know how many hours I meanwhile have wasted with that shit. There are complaints about it - not only by me - since years but obviously it is more important to add new features instead of fixing existing issues.
I buyed a license for studio one 6 artist a month ago now I am trying to get sphere monthly but couldn't get it due to some annoying rules set up by my bank and country for auto reccuring payments ..i google it, found out that many guys from India are facing this issue with any kind of software subscriptions..all my auto subscriptions from big platforms like Netflix, google, adobe,spotify and RUclips are working..but it's not working form any audio subscription websites. Is there a fix to this?

Regarding adding an fx to an isolated event. I tried this with Windows 11 and hitting the Alt key before letting go, and it does NOT work. So, I tried the Ctrl key and it puts the effect on the entire track. Boo. So I'm at a loss. Anybody else try Gregor's technique on a PC and have it work? 😕

Gregor, you forgot to mention that when you enable "Link visibility of track list and console" you loose the ability to hide FX tracks in the arranger view, which you talk about a minute earlier. This could use some improvement ;)

@@presonus hi guys, can you please increase the steps in pattern sequencer to 128 or 8 bars so that arrangement can be easier. We usually make changes every 8 bars. 4 is too short. Please presonus
Update the remote app to be able to play back midi intruments then I maybe interested and many others also. Like Logic Pros fantastic IOS app.

Of course. On the same track, though. (Channels are in the mixer.)

Ok guys the audio music loop is great but why don’t développe the community this way and permit users to creat audio music and share they to the community directly on sphere ?
That Channel Folderizing trick is neat.
It would be awesome if we would have screen-sets like logic, THAT would be awesome!
In Logic you can even Export a TrackStack (MusicLoop) as AppleLoop which also contains all MIDI traxcks etc as a music loop. In StudioOne we only can export one track, no FolderTrack.
I made a macro for creating a folder and adding a new bus to that folder
Helpful as always! Although I always get a laugh when Gregor uses his considerable charisma to justify the poor design decision to destroy the 1:1 relationship between tracks and channels. It only makes problems and provides zero benefits. It is the *only* fatal design flaw in what is otherwise the BEST DAW by far! I should start a campaign called NO MORE ORPHANS for S1 to fix that design flaw ;) I also wish they'd fix the bug that suddenly adds a bunch of tracks to the one piano roll you're working on.

...If you still wish to have a 1:1 relationship between Tracks and Channels after watching this video, you can always toggle the "Automatically create Automation Tracks for Channels" option, found in the advanced Automation Preferences. -GBY
@@presonus Thanks for responding. Yes, I've seen that video and all the other apologia. There. Is. No. Benefit. to this design flaw. Name one! It's super funny to see you all doing somersaults to try and make this sound like a good thing! How are orphans a good thing?!? If you want to have an instrument with more than one output, then just add another output to that instrument WITHOUT MAKING ORPHANS POSSIBLE. There is no reason to disembowel the track/channel logic in order to do that! S1 is the best DAW out there and would gain market share if you would move this flaw that is a real speed bump for professionals moving over from other DAWs. It was a major stumbling block in learning S1 for me -- I'm very experienced in DAWs. Every other DAW lets you add multiple outputs to an instrument without this broken system you've incorporated. I realize that the majority of your user base are passionate amateurs, but the more professionals who use it means it gains more visibility and respectability. So please consider fixing it -- it means BETTER WORKFLOW and FASTER ADOPTION BY PROFESSIONALS. S1 deserves it!
@@presonus And yes, I know it's not a bug -- it is a design flaw. Which means it was an aspect of the program that was implemented which was a mistake in judgment. Again, I love S1 and it is the best one out there. But making orphans as part of the design was simply an error in judgment. Hey -- we all make mistakes! I know I sure have!
@@presonus Uh, that has nothing to do with the 1:1 ratio. I am not talking about BUSSES I am talking about tracks:channels. Busses are a completely separate thing.

Love these videos and Studio One but I will forever be confused by programmers choosing menu items that require a video to explain the meaning when plain English would do the job. Why "pack selection to folder" why not "make a folder with current selection" or "put selection in a folder". Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. That said, thanks Gregor and team for the great software and videos.
Programmers should not name the description of the commands. Try simpler and easy to understand names. Regards.
